Grandma OK is a ray of sunshine. She just makes me smile.
True
Yeeees
I liked those growing up. I eventually made vegan ones and turkey ones. The sloppy tony is a fun variant made with spaghetti sauce
I'm only here for grandma 😂🙌💖💖💖
@@ophilliaber-lynn7310 Grandma is amazing
Look at Grandma OK looking so fresh in her pink flower blouse 🥺
She is so awesome, if I was 40 years older I would be in love.
grandma OK got the fresh fit 🔥🥵
right like look at the fucking drip!
You know a grandma is sweet when she got that flower blouse.
I had to look at it for 5s then I realized what you meant-
I grew up on sloppy joes, and let me tell you it is not complete until you have some meat falling on to your plate. 😭❤😂
I agree
Yep, half the Joe should be on plate....
Exactly. And you use the potato chips to scoop it up.
@@Nothing-zw3yd OMG... yes.
or you grab another bun for the fallen pieces
Always take a fork for the leavings.
It is SO cool how you have given your Grandma a sort of new facet to her life in her old age, its a beautiful thing. I would have loved to have done the same for mine.
that's my constant thought while watching these videos
It's also very American to put potato chips in your sandwiches ! You should try it for more crunch.
No. 🤮
Barbeque chips is best on tuna sandwich. Really helps the blandness and gives the sandwich texture.
so yummy, in the UK some people will literally just have crisp/chip sandwiches sometimes lol..so good!
I put chips on all my sandwiches. It really does take it to the next level.
I'm from the UK and one of my favourite sandwiches is extra mature cheddar with salt and vinegar crisps (chips) :)
she’s SO CUTEEEE 😭 “it’s too good to eat politely” is a mood, stuffing my face with popcorn and watching this lmao
❤
Grandma OK over there enjoying herself a sloppy joe while we're here sitting listening to her tease us lmfao🤣🤣
"80 and a troll" ZOEYYYYYY STOPP! 😭😭😭😭😭
😂😂😂
I laughed so hard 😂
Grandma OK is the sweetest!
@@bri-kn5xo ikr
She is amazing!
This ain't no tidy-joe. If you don't get it on your face was it really a sloppy joe? You can add that coleslaw. potato chips and/or sliced pickles to the sandwich (under the top bun) if you want to make it sloppier.
Half the Joe should end up on the plate....
:)
I dunno if Zoey understood the "sloppy" part!
😂 grandma knows what's up lol
Yeah, Sloppy Joe is modern peasant food. It basically became popular because you could stretch one hamburger worth of ground beef into sandwiches for the whole family if you just added enough sauce to thin it out. That's why it's supposed to be so sloppy!
@@guaposneeze lol, your point's right on, but now I want to see you eating a one-lb burger! 😁
I love how grandma ok is game to try anything and is so open to trying unfamiliar foods and always likes everything 😀🤠
I speak korean and English i just love how you subtitle it to make the translation less awkward 🙃 comedy gold.
Grandma ok’s vibrant shirt is adorable 😭😭
In my personal experience, sloppy joe's have a very nostalgic place in my heart. It was a common elementary and middle school lunch as it is easy to make for a crowd. I still crave it every once in a while. I like that it is comfort food and easy to make.
When I was a young teenager I worked in the kitchen of a nursing home. One of the creators of the Juicy Burger (very similar to Sloppy Joe) was a resident there. Every evening his sweet wife would come to have supper with him, and every other week we served sloppy joe. I will never forget her coming into the kitchen, asking for ingredients, and lovingly recreating his sloppy joe. Best love story ever.
That was cool to watch because I think here in Brazil there's a very similar, but at the same time different, type of meal where we put just the ground beef, cooked with onions and tomato sauce, inside a bread that it's like a small baguette (I have no idea how to explain it 😂) and it's commonly served in children's birthday party. Ohh that brings me back memories, I'm really craving for some now 😂
Ooh yum! What’s it called?
@@laurrr1211 Well, it can be called by different names but I think the most common are "pão com carne moída" (literally means "bread with ground beef") or "buraco quente" (which the direct translation mean "hot hole" 😂). There's also some variation to the ingredients itself, the one I described before it's the version I grew up with haha
@@laurrr1211 Sloppy João.
@@laurrr1211 Sloppy Jose
Sloppy joes at bit sweet though. Ketchup and sometimes brown sugar are added.
I really miss eating those.
That plate full of food looks exactly like every potluck meal I've ever eaten at work or at family events. Sloppy joes are an American staple, lol.
White American staple I don't know too many Black Or Hispanic Americans that eat sloppy joe
Totally! This was such a classic, unexpectedly cute American meal. Sandwich with chips and a soda. ❤
@xXaRIANa HilTONxX they clearly said they don’t know MANY black and hispanic/latino people who eat it. I’m latina and don’t know anyone who eats it. Just cause you eat it doesn’t make it not a white people food. And her saying that doesn’t mean it taste bad so chill
@@Utriedit215 my mom made us Sloppy Joe often. Especially since it is easy. I don't remember the onions being so big. It's delicious.
@@Utriedit215 I had it a few times. Def wouldn’t call it a staple but I think my dad used to like Manwich a lot so we would have it semi-homemade
I find it strange, and I just noticed, when Americans say "pickle" it's automatically assumed it's a cucumber pickle. Otherwise, we say it's a "pickled egg", or "pickle relish". We have such a weird language lol
Lol, so let's discuss your name... .is it "kiwi jelly", or "kiwi jello"?🙂
@@LindaC616 It's "kiwi jello". Ki and Wi are the first two letters of my first and last name, and Jello because kiwi pudding is gross?
@@randomlibra the rest of the world calls jello “jelly,” so i think that’s why she asked
@@benlego8273 Oh. Here in the USA, "Jello" is a name brand of a gelatin desert. Jelly is fruit preserves, such as jam. I can see how the rest of the world wouldn't get the distinction. We are an odd people :)
@@randomlibra
Lol, I thought maybe you were a Kiwi, and we were gonna spend more time with dialect differences!
Grandma OK is so funny lol. Absolutely love her down to earth nature and willing to try new things. Love you as well Zoey ❤ Keep making great content and I will keep coming to see what you do next.
This was perfect! The best you’ve done recreating a midwestern American meal! It made me so hungry XD and you guys were so cute!
I love "Sloppy Joes"!!! I haven't had one in a lot of years and now I'll go out tomorrow and get the ingredients! :) Excellent!
Right? I foresee Manwiches on the menu tomorrow. 😋
Aldi has a great version.
I just lost my last grandmother a few days ago and now ur videos really really touch me, next week is my grandmothers burial and I'm not ready💔 ....I will come to your channel and watch your videos and live thru you Zoey ❣

Grandma OK loves her food... She's so adorable.
I've never seen a sloppy joe held so classy before. Is not sloppy 🤣
Omg looks like my middle-school cafeteria lunch meal lol.
Ikr
Lmao yes it does 🤣

Yeah this sloppy joe don't look like usual sloppy joe but hey she tried and they still enjoyed 😂
I love the shake grandma ok makes when she really loves the food. 😂😂😂😍❤️
Grandma Ok: "Are you going to finish your food?”
Read: If not, I will! #stealsachip
I miss my grandma 😭. She’s in Africa(Congo). I got my sense of humor from her.
You should give her a call and say hi, I'm sure it would be a wonderful suprise!
:)
Mine are dead, make the most of the time you have.
I wish i can relate 😂
Being from Texas, I constantly forget that not everywhere commonly eats pickles. And them calling them “pickled cucumbers” is so weird to me! I know that’s exactly what pickles are, but they’re not called “pickles” everywhere is just crazy to me lol.
It's because outside USA they pickle a lot of different veggies, USA seems to just stick with cucumbers when it comes to pickling.
@@skepticfucker280 Not true at all, you must have no experience with southern American culture. There are many pickled items. For example in NC you won't find any southern restaurant that doesn't have a bottle of pepper vinegar on every table, which is pickled cayenne peppers, although we usually just use the actual vinegar on things and not the peppers. Then there is chow chow, which is pickled cabbage, onions, peppers, tomatoes, garlic, etc all chopped up similar to kimchi but it's pickled instead of fermented. There are pickled eggs. Pickled green tomatoes, and all kinds of relishes.. and that's just off the top of my head as someone who doesn't even particularly like to eat these things lol.
@@lavenderoh yeah pickled jalapeños, the list is short compared to outside the USA though.
@@skepticfucker280 Pickled watermelon rinds, pickled eggs, pickled sausages, pickled onions, pickled beets, pickled cabbage.
It’s the structure of the language. Kimchi means pickle, so you always add the type of vegetable to it. Koreans have a LOT if different kinds of pickle. Long, cold winters during which nothing grows = a rich pickling culture.
I love when Grandma says mmmmmm when she takes a bite...makes me smile every time!
What a coincidence! I actually made Sloppy Joes and French Fries for dinner tonight. I couldn't think of anything else to make.😂 Thanks so much for the video!💜
Yes I'm finally early to watch the two queens
The sound effects kill me every time. I love how much Grandma OK tries everything with such readiness and doesn't downplay how much she enjoys something, it is a really refreshing attitude to eating!
Grandma Ok you look so lovely today! Stay well
I literally just ate and now I want a sloppy joe lol
I relate
I'm about to make some now lol
O my goodness, I’ve missed grandma ok so much. I always enjoy any content with the both of you!💛
Omg this made my day! Also how am I this early?😂🤗
The reason you didn't see any sloppy joes in the US is because they're considered a cheap casual food. Sloppy joes are a simple meal you serve to kids and your family or at a picnic or potluck. You don't normally serve adult guests sloppy joes and it's not something most restaurants would ever sell.
Although they should!
Go Grandma OK!! You are eating that sloppy joe like a champion! You are adorable Grandma OK!!
These just make me so happy. I wonder if Grandma OK would like day-after-thanksgiving food. Yeast rolls sliced in half with stuffing, turkey, cranberry sauce, and gravy on top.
Grandma ok is too cute 🥺 so sweet to see her enjoy the sandwich so happily
I always look forward to these videos! ◡̈
I love Grandma OK, she's always so positive and never fails to put a smile on my face :)
It's definitely not a restaurant food, and more something parents make when they want the kids to be happy without having to put in much work
Or the school lunch lady cooking up a 10 gallon pot to ladle out to the kids.
yeah it's a very homey comfort food 😭
Yes, not a restaurant food, because you often wind up wearing some of it
In Iowa, we have a restaurant called Maidrite that sells these!
Omg, even the way grandma OK drinks soda is adorable.
할머니OK님 고마워요!
Grandma is so cute! I love watching her enjoy all these different foods. You can tell she really likes it with her lil head shake when she eats. Grandmas are treasures
I'm sorry to say, I can't afford the postage it takes to mail stuff to Korea but those who can, please send grandmother Ok a variety of Hamburger/Tuna Helper. I think she will really enjoy it.
omg you literally uploaded this as i was cooking sloppy joes lol
My whole soul smiles after watching these videos.
That sloppy joe looked too stiff since it's suppose to be sloppy, almost falling off the bun, it should be loose and not stuck together, but I'm glad you enjoyed it none the less 😁 especially Grandma Ok. Edit: ok I see, Zoey drained it so it's less greasy for Grandma, makes sense, gotta look out for her health ☺️
I think it needed some manwich sauce.
I always drain the fat and mine are still sloppy. I think she may have just simmered the sauce down a little too much. No big deal, all the flavor is still there 😋🤤
“Save me some will you” *death stare* lmao love 할머니 💖
I’ve never heard of putting cheese on a sloppy joe 🤔 my mom always just made the sandwich and French fries 🍟 and if you want real American coleslaw go to kfc 👍🏻 I love grandma ok being savage today ❤️
I put cheese on mine and lemme tell you it upgrades the sandwich a lot
My family has always put cheese, sometimes a pickle slice...
Oh and hotsauce.
Same, no cheese in my sloppy joe experience. But reading through this thread is enlightening. So many different versions and condiments, yet the name alone invokes the same spirit of food culture in so many of us.
Same as you, Avalon and Mitch. I feel like, as time went on, people started adding to it to make it less of a "oh, meatloaf again...?" Meal....I haven't had one since the 90s...or maybe even 80s...
"Sloppy" is in the name! If you don't get a little messy trying to eat it you're doing it wrong, grandma's got this on lock
Her grandma is too cute... wayyyyy to adorable omfg
Did anyone else have saucier sloppy joe, kind of poured over the bread? We ate it with hands, very messy, then finished up with a fork. It was a school lunch.
Oh Zoey! You really need to turn Grandma Ok loose with a chili burger now. She'd freak out, especially if you gave her cheese fries with it. She's so stinking cute with the Joker grin going on from eating Manwich. Made my day.
A footlong chili dog fully loaded!!! I bet she would adore it!@@, the should do a chili burger and chili dog an split them@@@
I love that Grandma OK has a good handle on sarcasm. My grandma is from Japan and moved to the states as an adult and she just doesn't get it. She eventually figures out that you've wound her up but it takes a minute. 😂 It makes for some wholesome encounters though. Like when I call her she always tells me she's peachy and I asked her why she was never any other fruit and what it meant to be a peach. The next time I called she told me she was bananas. 😂😂😂
I just made Sloppy Joe's yesterday!
Man, I was hungry when I started watching but four minutes in and my tummy's growling.
sara thank you for sending them this, i am Canadian and have always loved sloppy joes so much, seeing grandma love it to is the best
I had to pause everything because i got a notification with grandma OK! 😍 that sloppy joe looked delicious! 👌🏻
I've been patiently waiting for her reappearance! 🥰🥰 Love you grandma
I've never had them with cheese before....mmmm will have to try it next time :0
That's a must in my house, cheese and sometimes picked slices.
Oh don't forget the hotsauce. Lol
ah you've gotta try it, I also usually mayo my bun 😋
Same
@@kaiandshy Oh that also sounds good!!
@@skepticfucker280 Can't have hot sauce XD but I bet its yummy as well!!
she is so adorable! i love your channel (:
just saying though i think the cheese is supposed to be melted haha! but i'm sure it was still good even with the cold shredded cheese LOL ❤️
HIHIIII i’m so early lol. you two are the cutest 💕💕
Wonderful! The company that makes Manwich should obviously find a way to market their product in Korea! And you're right: Manwich does make sloppy joes very easy. Thanks for the idea of using ground pork - I want to try that myself!
It's good, a couple times my family has even made it with ground turkey.
The sauce covers up most the taste anyways. Lol
The sandwich was also known as a Maid-Rite and sold as part of a chain in the USA. Probably better served hot.
A Maid-Rite doesn’t have the sauce though.
@@bonzolvr They made ketchup and mustard for a reason, right?
@@michaelputnam2532 The fact that it isn't cooked into the sandwich makes it a different sandwich. You were wrong. Just own it.
I’ve made a Maid-Rite at home, and they definitely aren’t Sloppy Joes. They are also called loose meat sandwiches. Gotta have onions and peppers and ketchup and Worcestershire and all that to be a Sloppy Joe.
Hello tell grandma ok we love her 💗
I love the relationship you have with Grandma it makes me so happy seeing you 2 😁♥️👍🏻
Yay Sara! Oh I always love seeing Grandma OK experience a new food joy
I haven’t had sloppy joes in 9 years. Wow. You did good.
Even longer, here... I suppose I could try them with bison...
I made some about three months ago. I made mine with ground turkey. My nephew couldn't tell the difference.😂😂
Sometimes I enjoy a spoon of coleslaw on top of my sloppy joe! I am so happy that you both enjoyed your sandwich. Please stay safe and well.
Grandma OK was enjoying the Sloppy Joe so much that she made the Joker face with the sauce smudged around the corners of her lips. That was so funny, then later Zoey briefly flashed the Joker image over Grandma OK's face, so she noticed as well. A week feels empty, if there is no new Grandma OK video, so thanks, Zoey, for giving us our fix of warmth, love, and acceptance via your beautiful grandmother.
And~ now I want sloppy joe. I've taken out the meat to thaw, but apparently we're low on the seasonings. Mom's gonna get more. 😊
Can of manwitch is all you need.
:)
Whenever I have sloppy joe it’s just hamburger meat mixed with BBQ Sauce inside two hamburger patties
That sounds good to me, but I'd have a hard time calling it a sloppy joe. I always expect (and appreciate) some chunks of tomato, onion, and especially green bell pepper.
Thats what i grew up eating too
My family always just browned ground beef, drained it, and mixed it with Del Monte canned Sloppy Joe sauce. still the best one I ever had.
Yes, another Grandma OK video, my heart's joy is complete, I always smile so big 💕💕😄😄😄
Need the launch lady, so she can make them extra sloppy for ya.
y'all putting cheese on them is so sacrilegious 😂😭But I love to see Grandma OK getting sloppy with her sloppy joe! You guys always brighten my afternoons 😊
I love how you are trying Different food from the US and not just burger and fries and calling it a day lol.
Grandma OK I love your pink shirt. Thank you Zoey for bringing us another video with Grandma OK.
Just always such a joy to watch your channel!❤️
You two are both just cute as the Dickens. It's wonderful that you have a fun activity to share together. Also, this video made me change dinner plans; it *was* going to be spaghetti, but now I've got some ground beef thawing to make sloppy Joes instead. You guys were enjoying it so much that it made me start craving one for myself!
Parentssss just because your kid is smiling at their phone doesn't mean they have a gf/bf
They might just be watching Halmeoni OK eat🥺
love the editing skills 😃 gramma oinking is hilarious
Growing up we usually ate it on top of a couple of slices of toast broken into pieces. For a side we usually had steak fries or tater tots, or potato chips. Never had coleslaw with it but that sounds good as slaw goes well with BBQ dishes. I didn't know Burger King sold coleslaw.. I don't think they do in the USA
I would LOVE to see yours and Yumi’s reaction on Young bae and her dad!!! 🙇🏻♀️🙏🏿
I always crunch the potatoes in the bag and then put them in to the sandwich its amazing 😆 love the vid so funny and lovely ❤️❤️❤️ always here to support this amazing content
Is there Grandma OK merch?! Now she has nearly half a million grandchildren. I think we should be able to wear a T-shirt to be show that off, 😀!
Love watching your videos with grandma. She is so sweet. I would like to know her secret to such beautiful skin. Genetics, good diet and skin care?
Grandma OK cracked the secret of the chips, which is to use them to scoop up your food. Since Sloppy Joes are sloppy, you need something to eat what falls off.
More grandpa OK over lockdown 2.0 please 😩 I need this in my life to get me through.
Those cute sounds Grandma makes whilst eating is too much...love u guys from the UK x
Hamburger ,ketchup, mustard, those pour as much you like ,fried onions , makes a good sloppy Joe, a little pickle relish on top
Manwich original is 100% the best store bought sauce for sloppy joes.
Yeah where I live we have small restaurants that sell those, they also sell chilly dogs, and corn dogs. Many of us grew up on those.
I feel like grand MA MA needs to try buffalo wings and bbq wings. ^_^
