@@CameronGrumet I've never set fire to any of the bags I own and use... and I can say confidently I don't know anybody who have set fire to their own bags.... it's not a common thing
This is a Mulberry Heritage Bayswater Satchel in Fudge High Pebbled Matte from 2012. The leather is soft and the bag puddles far more than their usual more rigid leathers. Gorgeous.
This makes me so sad, cause I have the exact same bag, and honestly the shade is wrong. It's not the oak color Mulberry usually uses, it's a lighter sand shade. Much like the pieces you didn't restore. You see, there should be less mustard, I guess less red. It's just such a delicate shade, perhaps you could find a photo of it online. Apart from that it came out so beautifully! Thank you for sharing
I've always wondered this...I know in France you can't carry fakes around. Even if it's a SUPERFAKE they can tell...but what if you had a restoration done where part of the bag was replaced by the service you hired? Will people still be able to tell? Like how they completely replaced the straps here.... does it make the bag into a hybrid of real and imitation? O-O it's 3am here and I haven't slept for 48 hours. My head is filled with stupud questions hahahaha
I am curious too! this scenario actually reminds me of the though excitement the ship of Theseus, whether a ship being completely replaced with new components is a different ship.
You did a fabulous job with this bag considering the condition it was in! I have a question though .. why weren’t you able to just paint those tabs and the clochette the same color as the rest of the bag? If they originally came in a different color then why not back to it’s original color as well? That’s the one thing that would’ve really bothered me. Unless of course the owner asked to leave it the same. You mentioned it was made from a different type of leather but as leather professionals what would be the reason for just a cleaning and not a repainting? I would love to know the reason as I am incredibly curious about this decision. Thank you so much! 😊
They aren’t meant to last forever. When you see a bag in the shape this one is in, it should make you happy because it means it was well loved and used to it’s fullest extent. Things are meant to be used 💜
@@FannyGodMother love your comment :") yes things aren't meant to last forever but at least it could last as long as you live. to see the bag in such state, you can tell a lot of different stories happening there. I always careful with my handbag especially the expensive one like mulberry. but yeah 'things are meant to be used' after all :))
this bag is not taken care of at all! in fact it has been ab*sed 😳 the leather is so dry, just like our skin you need to moisturise from time to time. this bag is quite high maintenance if you wanna keep it decent looking
I had to turn off audio and switch on the subtitles, but her way of talking was obviously still in the subtitles and my stupid brain kept reading it in her voice so it ruined the video. Also that decision to keep specific parts of the leather unmatched actually made me feel kind of mad? Why do I even care but oh my god. If there was a different shade then PAINT IT TGAT DIFFERENT SHADE this just looks unfinished ...?! I really like Restauration videos but from now on I’m going to avoid any she’s in (I’m sorry, I feel bad for writing that, but I don’t have to do that to myself...)
Good on the owner for using the bag so much instead of buying a new one at the first sign of wear!
Thanks, I’ll let my buttonhole know you appreciate their judgement
@@APAstronaut333 😂
Sometimes it’s more money to refurbish it than it is to just buy a new one especially in this condition. So they have money.
I wanna see 1 year after restoration photos, because that is the real test.
It must have been passed down through generations? How can such a bag look so bit up like that? Final result was amazing
Generations? No. Based on the glue behind the handles, this bag is less than 20 years old.
What the heck was the owner of the bag doing to cause burn damage to an expensive bag??
Bravo to the restoration team. They did an amazing job
Using it?
@@CameronGrumet I've never set fire to any of the bags I own and use... and I can say confidently I don't know anybody who have set fire to their own bags.... it's not a common thing
@@JDPewPewPew it doesn’t look like someone set fire to it. More like left it next to something hot, or in the sun.
Maybe it was being stored somewhere in less than ideal conditions
Today I learned that when all else fails, just paint the bag.
Anyone can’t stop watching these ‘restore’ vids?
it's quite impressive that you make all the cleaning products in house

Wow so this bag was like 8-9 years old when it was repaired? Man, I thought this thing would have been used for like 20 years, it's really beaten up.
I clicked on one video because I love art and now I'm obsessed with this channel. 🎨🖌❤

Yeah, I didn't like the shade used, but regardless, they did a good job
They matched it to the colour under the catch tho!
This was so therapeutic to watch! Thank you
What do you use to polish the metal? X
1:51 when your bag is so dirty the bacteria have been absorbed into the leather. lol 🤣😂
Hambar
Yes,but is it completely reversible restoration paint?
This would have been a very relaxing video without the talking and just showing the process happening
Why did I watch this unnecessary video? But it was still satisfying
may I know please what are those solutions had used and what for? thank u
You didn’t use a glaze top coat? How do you keep the leather from cracking later on?
Proper maintenance is the only way to keep it from cracking. Leather isn't something you can spray once and think it's going to hold up.
Its a totally different color than the original bag the original had two different leathers of two different colors

This is amazing! I can’t believe the difference. I now also really want that bag but i bet I would have to sell my car to buy it.
So what would a restoration like that cost , surprised to see a sews awl being used on the handle though.
Why?!
@@user-fb3pu3qx3t because its no where as neat and tidy as a machine .

Painted the stitching too. Nice.
Do you know of any luxury handbag clinics in British columbia Canada? Ihave inherited a Bayswater with a broken toggle clasp.Thank you for the video
How do you let your 1200 dollar bag get so messed up?
You use and enjoy it
It actually breaks my heart that people allow items to get into such a state

I take good care of my Kate spade. I make sure to not get it wet and clean it off properly.

love that the insides of the handles are rope, not plastic tubes like most other "luxury" ones
New drinking game: take a shot every time she says leather

Absolutely stunning result
This is amazing! Good job!
Please invest in a decent microphone. The audio quality makes the video hard to watch.
Nice video with interesting information, but the audio is really horrible. Other than that I'm impressed by the outcome!
So ugly keeping the straps different color. To me it looks fake. Sorry, simply not my taste.
Otherwise great job!💪
Yes you have to terd the bag inside out coz is that how you stich
Please not commenter. Only asmr is better for this video

Love the visuals, probably better without the talking just subtitles or something
i wish I understand her accent. that would help me so much what material she used
there is an English subtitles
How how much is cost your product ?? My point is you are to do oll that you need to be skilled
Holl bag cand be restored moust of time ???
Congratulations!!!!
Oh my God I love that!!!
Very bad audio, need to improve the quality
Do they do shoes?
no, I’m pretty sure they just do handbags, as their name is Handbag Clinic.
Better to buy a new bag.
Must cost a fortune to restore it.
Her voice is so unpleasant I couldn't endure it for two full minutes let alone over seven.
eng cc pls!! Cant understand her
Now that’s what I’m talking about
Impressive!
So satisfying.
Wow cool 😮😮
Great video but that woman's voice was very annoying. Fortunately, there was a mute button and I'll be back. Workmanship was awesome.
