I get emotional with this song. I just think of how many ppl feel this way and they can't help it. My heart and prayers goes out to those who suffer from mental illness.

I love that your discovering artists I grew up listening to as a kid and teen.
And since you were born in 1995, I assume most of the music you are more familiar with that you probably listened too the most pr heard over the radio was in the 2000s Era. And this song "UNWELL" came out in 2002.
So I was 15 years old when this song came out. You were 7 but perhaps you might recall hearing it on the radio as you got older.
And yes I can sympathize with you on how it was back then.
Because sometimes they would tell you on the radio at either the beginning or end of the song who sang it.
Other times you had to listen to another song before they breaked for commercial and told you all the artists..
And you would have to write down the artist and the name of the song.
Now back around 1997 I'm sure alot of people were blessed to have some form of internet even dial up that apparently took forever.
However the majority of us kids and teens grew up without internet
And I was one of them. And so was allt of my friends.
Infact we were so in the dark about some things because we didn't have the internet.
The way we stayed up to date was by either sharing gossip and news, listening to the radio for new artists and songs, watching MTV TRL with Carson Daly and watching Pop up video. Or buying magazines.
And you come send hand written letters to your favorite bands fan mail.
Yeah, back then we wrote hand written letters to not only our fav singers and bands but also to each other.
We didn't txt it or email it.
Atkeast not the majority of us did.
I'm sure there was alot of people who had the internet. Especially the upper class society who could afford it.
I was middle class and yet my mother said it was too expensive.
But it was no big deal to me. Because back then I didn't even know you could watch a music video on the internet.
Because none of my friends or their parents had the internet either.
And so they didn't know that either. Lol!
Instead the only time we really got to watch music videos was during MTV TRL or POP UP VIDEO.
Watching awards shows showing artists singing was such a bug deal because we were so deprived back then. Lol!
We didn't miss what we didn't know back then.
I also remember my anxiety cell phone. The graphics was terrible on it. And I didn't use it much. Just for quick phone calls and maybe a few txt messages.
Never did I imagine that I would one day be able to watch movies and TV shows and music videos and old footage of award show performances I haven't seen as a kid all one day on my cell phone like I can now.
I honestly did not have the internet until I moved out of my mothers house and got married at 19 years old.
That is when I discovered UA-cam for myself and fell inlove instantly. I've even been able to teach myself to play new instruments just by usingUA-cam.
Where the heck was this when I was a kid?
Chikdten and teens are so lucky to have this now that many of us didn't have back then.
However children and teens seem very different to how we were it seems. Always glued to their phones and the internet.
Many of us didn't have the internet until we were adults and sure some of us got cell phones at 16 years old. But it wasn't unlimited for some of us. So we were told to not use it much and use it for emergencies only.
So yeah in some ways I think we were better off growing up not having access to what we have to now.
And we played outside and did other things.
Most kids I know like to stay in doors either playing games or staying on their phone or surfing the internet.
Some may playing outside but not as often as I remember me and my friends use too.
I remember first having only cassette tapes to listen too. Then I upgraded to cds. But I still even now listen to some of my old cassette tapes and mixed tapes friends etc made for me.
I also collect vital albums and laser disc's.
Do you know what a laser disc is?
It's basically like a HUGE cd only it plays a movie.
I remember Ross in friends showing off his laser disc in the episode where he moves into the apartment across the street and throws a party.
I bought a laser disc player for $5 at a thrift store in great condition.
I found that same laser disc player online for $150!
    So I saved $145. Lol!!
My husband and I collect 1000s of vhs tapes as well as dvds.
My husband is 7 years older than me so he was born in 1980 so he is a big fan of 80s everything.
And he also says he likes to find rare vhs tape movies that you can't find on dvd easily.
Somebody even did an short story and article about my husband's massive collection.
We have 3 bedrooms filled with nothing but movies and old games and old game consoles. And a storage building.. lol
My Husband is a collector. But so am I on some things.
I love watching a vhs tape for nostalgic reasons.
Sure we collect new movies as well.
But I hold onto the 90s and early 2000s music and movies more so than other eras. Though I do love alot of 80s films and music too.
But did you listen to many different genres of music back then or just stick to one?
Cause if you did, then you still have so many amazing artists and bands to check out.
I'm a singer, song writer and musician.
As is alot of people in my family.
We have been blessed with the gift of Music.
I'm from the south so I am a country girl.
Amd I grew up on Country and Southern Gospel music.
But country music in itself has many different genres.
There is old classic country and newer contemporary country and country rock and country pop etc...
But I also loved slot of artists and bands from other genres.
Espeailly pop and rock and some heavy metal and rap and R&B and I also have an appreciation from classical music and opera.
I grew up in theater and took ballet, jazz and tap.
Performing is something I have always loved to do.
And though I do like alot of music artists out there now.
There is a special place in my heart for 80s and 90s singers and bands.
But I also like music from the 70s and 50s and so on.
I'm a bit of an old soul cause I do love much older music like in my mothers and Grandmothers times.
Also have a love for older classic films.
So yeah I'm a well rounded girl who is a big time book/movie/music lover.
I don't know if you take suggestions for songs here in the comment section or if we have to do type in some sort of hashtag or something for you to see it.
But if you do take suggestions from your comments, I would love to share you some sometime some of the best singers and bands and their music.
I was fortunate to be there for many of their break out songs and have followed their career since the beginning.
Including Mathcbox 20, Eminem, Nsync Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, Limp Bizquit, Linkin Park, Green Day, Savage Garden, FIVE, LFO, TLC, Alliyah, Missy Elliot, Goo Goo Dolls, The Calling, and so many others.
Also of them I saw in concert and some I met in person.
I'm an 80s baby. So yes I do have a great love for 80s music and movies.
I love even more the 90s and early 2000s movies and music.
I had such a huge crush on Rob Thomas.
Rob Thomas was born on February 14, 1972 in Landstuhl, West Germany. So he is 50 years old now.
But hey my husband is 42. Ive got a thing for older men. Lol!
Rob is an actor and composer, known for Meet the Robinsons (2007), Love Actually (2003) and Keeping the Faith (2000). He has been married to Marisol Thomas since October 2, 1999.
So Rob would have been 30 years old in this music video UNWELL.
But he looks younger than that too me.

I think I may have mentioned this before but Rob Thomas had a close relationship with George Michael interestingly enough. Rob and his wife traveled all through Europe with George while he was on tour. He was devastated when George died and he wrote a lengthy tribute. He said there would never have been a Rob Thomas without George Michael. Friends are important.

A few years ago my son (who was 20) kept asking about a song I used to play every morning while getting them ready for school. And I had no idea what song it was. He tried for years to get me to remember by trying to describe it. And just a few months ago he called me and he was all excited and it had popped up on Pandora. It was Eve 6 Promise 😂 so now I love it even more.
