    I'm so glad that you started your UA-cam channel Juan. Most people hide this sort of stuff behind a pay wall so it becomes pretty much impossible to pass the information on to new painters. I think more painters like yourself should freely share information.

    Angelo Di Chello is one of my miniatures heroes since I first started in 2004. I had the pleasure to attend a short paint masterclass about true metallics with him in my local GW Store. Not only it was a really formative experience paintingwise, he's also one of the most sweet and funny guys I ever met.

    Dante looks great in TMM. The choice to go into green is a great one. It keeps him grounded compared to just going for a yellow gold. Also great to see some Scale75 metallics. Those are some beautiful paints.

    I think gold TMM is such a fun "color" to work with.
    There are so many interesting options when you move beyond Retributor Gold + Reikland Fleshshade.
    There's so much we can do with it. Glazing in purples, blues or greens for shading really makes the gold interesting / "pop" compared to just using a darker shade of the same hue and adding really bright silvery highlights can give it that eye-catchingly alluring lustre.
    Also, the different types of gold and finishes is also a lot of fun to experiment with - eg. red, white, "old", tarnished gold etc.

    Great video Juan! What's your general opinion on the scale 75 metallics? It seems like they have some transparency that make them less good for basecoats, but better for the kind of layering and glazing you're doing here?

      That's exactly my opinion. That being said Decayed Metal covers very well, it's an A+ paint

    Hey Juan,
    Thanks for this amazing tutorial. Unfortunately I only own all the GW colours, so could you please tell me how I can replace the colours from different manufacturers with GW colours, if possible?

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  Рік тому +1

      Not really any alternatives for VMC Gold.
      You could maybe do Balthazar Gold for Decayed Metal and obviously Stormhost silver for VMA Silver.

      @@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Thank you, what about the inks?

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  Рік тому +1

      There are no equivalents at all but contrast is the closest but understand they are matter than the inks and will change the look completely
      You can try leviathan purple and maybe Gore-grunta but it's not really the same

    Incredible! What kind of protective finish would you recommend for a table top piece to keep the paint job safe while not destroying the effect?

    • @JuanHidalgoMiniatures
      @JuanHidalgoMiniatures  Рік тому +1

      I prefer no finish BUT if you had to use one, I would use Vallejo Metal Color Varnish on the metal, then paint the rest of the details and varnish those by hand with a matte varnish
