I started putting my firewood in IBC totes a couple years ago . Working real well . And for the first time in 41 years of cutting firewood, I have a year ahead now to use , so what I am working on now will be for next winter . I am also working on the trees that have just dired . Keep up the good work .

Thanks D! I see hometown acres using those IBC totes but my tractor doesn’t have forks on it. I wish it did - but it’s not quick attach and I’m not a fan of the chain on style.

@@PoplarRidge I have the same setup on my tractor , no quick attach, I use a 3 point hitch , homemade fork carry all to move the totes around . It would be handy if I could stack them to save room .

I miss our wood stove insert. There’s nothing warmer than wood heat 🔥

We are thinking about adding a wood stove insert! Do you know what model you had?

Are you just trying to butter me up for something, Pasture?

Check out the Mingo marker, I prefer my firewood cut at 16" and the Mingo marker works great. ~ Rich ~

Thanks Rich! I’ve seen those. I tend to just use my bar to measure it out now since I don’t need shorter pieces but some day I would like to add an indoor fireplace insert and 20” would be too big for that. I’ll check it out

Hello from Ohio as well. I'm currently hooking up a used Hardy at my house. Watched a few of your videos. Question? Does your pump run 24/7 or is it hooked up to a thermostat to only run when the demand for heat is there?

Hi Killinger - great question. Mine runs 24/7. I find that is best just to keep the water moving and circulating. That way the pump stays moving and doesn’t get a blast of hot water multiple times. Also, that will help keep the water at the boiler a more constant temp because the coals inside the stove are providing some heat (though not much) and could cause the water temp to rise above what you want especially if your rope seal is letting some air in. Hope that helps!

@@PoplarRidge helps a ton! Thank you! I was worried it would over work the pump to run it like that but it sounds like it would probably be worse for it to turn on and off. Hopefully I'll have mine up and running tonight!

Good luck! It’s a great feeling of sufficiency when it’s going. Nice to have that security it provides.
