Well, now you pretty much have to check out the live version as well, because Momoko's growl isn't in the studio version. It's not a lot, but it's new for us fans, so we are pretty happy and proud of her. :-) I'm glad that they made you smile and looking forward to your next reaction.
As eveyeone is iterating live is alwasy better. For, I would say most if not all, japanese bands they tend to regard studio tracks as a starting point and not the complete song. They will extend songs, add solos, switch up vocals, and constanly evolve a song. And a band like Babymetal goes so hard with crowd participation that it really takes away not hearing it. Babymetal, Band-Maid, and Lovebites (to name a few) are as much preformers as they are musicians and want to create an entire experience. These bands even write songs with crowd participation in mind specifically. Good reaction and hope you keep on this journey and check out some more bands as well.
Welcome back, great reaction ... and as you've been told Momometal adds an "Are you ready" growl into the live performances of this right after her Kabuki Theatre section. So this song - Metali is a made up word fusing metal with matsuri (a Japanese summer festival). A lot of the lyrics are just the shouts of encouragement for people carrying heavy floats and things - so "Wasshoi! Wasshoi! Wasshoi! Wasshoi!“, "Sore Sore" and "Dokoisho!" The live performances of this are completely wild and the crowds go nuts! They are inviting us all to dance - there is something in the lyrics about we are all idiots - the idiots who watch and the idiots who dance ... so as we're all here and we're all idiots why just watch, we may as well all dance. I agree, BABYMETAL singing in Japanese is nearly always best, although they do have 2 songs completely in English (which are great) and English versions of another two songs (one of them is really good, the other some think should probably have been left as the original Japanese song) and they will throw in English words and phrases in many of their other songs. It doesn't matter if you speak no Japanese (I don't) - as Su-metal once said "Don't think. Feel."
_Wasshoi!_ 🦊🤘🏮 Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey. Thanks for coming back with this suggestion but if you were looking for MomoMetal doing harsh vocals then the only two songs she did that live is during the live version of METALI!! which you can also find an official live, and also when singing the second part of Headbanger!! during the special live show honoring her 21 birthday at Legend MM last March. Of course the more recent clip showing her unique skills was with RATATATA. Here's some official info about this song released last year. "This is officially the first new song by the newly reborn BABYMETAL, now consisting of SU-METAL, MOAMETAL, and MOMOMETAL. This song is very up-tempo and one that was created with the envision of a summer festival taking place in a metal village and everyone forming a circle to celebrate the festival. BABYMETAL is ready to make this summer even hotter with their new song. BABYMETAL are now celebrating a very special collaboration with legendary guitarist Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine. This collaboration with BABYMETAL will become a very exciting opportunity for both artists transcending generations." Tom Morello comment: _"I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I’ve been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of METALI!! I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!"_ The song title is Metali!! (metal + matsuri, which is a Japanese festival) and you can hear it in the spoken section when MomoMetal is doing the Kabuki moves style. Just so you know "wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festivals when men are carrying the shrine, similar to sore and soya in Megitsune and Karate. The traditional Japanese instrument you can hear in the beginning is a shamizen, also used in Megitsune. I can totally see why they pick Tom Morello on this, the groove, the catchiness, the super energetic jump and those typical 90's vibes at funk or alternative metal live concerts. Next suggestion: - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official live MV (2015) I'm gonna leave in my next comment where to get safe clips to react if YT allows me to do it. See you next time 🦊🤘🔥
To HeadbangHarbor: So, per your comments about wanting the more aggressive BABYMETAL stuff, there's actually a fair amount of it. They've released four full length albums at this point and there are heavy/more aggressive tracks on all of them. And though they do have a few songs sung entirely in English, most of their stuff is in Japanese - although, many Japanese musical acts including BABYMETAL often sprinkle English in here and there with the Japanese. Anyway, here are three recommendations for harder stuff: BABYMETAL DEATH - A track that they have used as a show opener (and sometimes show closer) and introduction to the band. Believe me when I say that this track removes all doubt about them being "metal." BE SURE to watch the version from their Legend 1997 Apocalypse show. B.M.C - This is a very cool metal-rap fusion track and an ode to gaming with a very aggressive feel. Check out the version from their 2021 Budokan Live show. By the way, you can get this clip (and the other clips I'm mentioning) with English subs if you're interested from a UA-cam channel called "For The Fox God." MAYA - Probably my favorite track (or at least top 3) from their newest album and just full of sludgy power grinding goodness. They have an official video of this from their BABYMETAL BEGINS - THE OTHER ONE - BLACK NIGHT Blu-Ray that they released, so make sure to check out that version. Anyway, enjoy your trip down the foxhole.
Well this sonc was constructed to force Momo in the spotlight.the song was based on japanese Summer Festivals. While Japanese are normally pretty regulated on one day men only wear a loin cloth and carry shrines through the street. Normally women sre only allowed as bystanders, but this year many shrones allow women for the first time. And the girls propose a Metal Summerfestival.
We definitely are a passionate community lmao... I mean Jesus Christ.... We had to create a #notacult hashtag. That being said their liveshow is where its fucking at. they're 10x better than anything you'd see in a music video as they're a live band.
Good reaction!! We always see this to new Babymetal fans but you have to listen to them live, always live. MV are cool, but this girls are the best with performance. They now how to interect with the fans in the concerts and is an amazing experience.
Babymetal is structured for live performances, which is why everyone recommends live performances. They call they fans "The One" because they consider the audience as part of the perfoamance. Majority of songs have audience call outs - Moametal and Momometal role is signify when and what of the callout responses. The top MVs, which I suggest you watch before the lives are: Doki, Doki Morning, Megitsume, Karate, iine (ee-nay), and Monochrome. They'll provide more understanding of the songs.
imma guess the reason you're getting a lot of requests for japanese metal bands is the fact that they (mostly) all still have a more "classically" metal vibe to them , and there's still a demand for that that few others are providing (other than the "legacy" bands) (Babymetal notwithstanding .... they broke the mold and are their own thing)
I think it's one of the best songs to introduce to BABYMETAL... taking into account that it's the song that made me jump into the foxhole. It literally happened in October of last year playing with my cousin listening to his playlist. This song started playing and I asked him who they were... and was kind of "yooooooooooo this is BABYMETAL NOW? I'M SO DAMN IN". Welcome back to the Foxhole and the wonderful world of happy metal that is BABYMETAL! 🤘🦊🤘 Most of the truly important information has been or will be given in other comments, so I like to give the fun titles and nicknames given by The ONE (Babymetal’s Fan-base) as well as other (un)important information. BABYMETAL started as an experimental sub-unit of the larger JPop/JRock group Sakura Gakuin. Babymetal are: Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess. Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls. Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Left the group in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Yui-bot, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul). Yui had a minor role as a child actor in a Japanese TV Drama before joining Sakura Gakuin. She has cute, chubby cheeks. Fun Fact: Yui is tickled by Bullfrogs. ** WARNING ** Do NOT, ever, under any circumstances call her “small”, "smol", “short” or “tiny” (same rule applies to Moametal). Moa Kikuchi\Moametal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Love\Smile, Queen of Hearts, Princess Moa, Kawaii Princess, Super Moa-chan, Maiden of Mischief, and Headmistress of Hedabon. She has huge dimples and a smile that melts the hardest of hearts. Fun Fact: Loves to troll Su-metal on-stage with little pranks as well as torment Su-metal with Bullfrogs. Momoko Okazaki\Momometal (Scream and Dance): Angel of Joy, Kawaii Princess, Princess Peach, Momo-Monster, Vampire Slayer, Kabuki Queen. Also a Sakura Gakuin graduate. Was a contestant on the Korean reality survival program "Girls Planet 999" (which thankfully for The ONE, she was eliminated from early on) and performed in a stage musical production of "Black Butler". Momoko was the only “Avenger” (see below) to perform in the “10 BABYMETAL Budokan” shows in 2021 and was officially named Momometal and made a permanent member in April 2023. She deserves the spot! Fun Fact: Momoko's father is a popular comedian in Japan known for making dead-pan jokes. Momoko worked very hard to make her way without using his name as a crutch. BLACK BABYMETAL: Yuimetal and Moametal performing as a duet while Su-metal takes a breather. Also known as “MoiMoi”. There are 4 BBM songs (GJ!, Onedari Daiskusen, 4 No Uta\Song 4, and Sis. Anger) some of which Moametal performed solo a few times after Yui's departure. Now that Momometal is a member, we are hoping for more BBM songs with MoMoa! But only the Fox God knows. AVENGERS: 3 Dancers who took turns performing the choreography in Yuimetal’s spot after her departure. They were not official members did not have microphones and were not even named. It was the who quickly figured out who they were and you will see them in live performances between 2018 and 2021. They were: Momoko Okazaki (see above). Riho Sayashi: Suzuka’s former rival at Actors School Hiroshima, often competing for the same roles. Former “Ultimate Ace” of the JPop Idol group Morning Musume. Now a solo artist. Kano Fujihara: Former Member of Sakura Gakuin, the school-aged Idol group that BABYMETAL was born out of. Like Suzuka and Moa before her, Kano was "Student Council President" her last year in Sakura Gakuin and like Yui, was considered arguably the best dancer in SG during her time there. She is now a member of the Idol group @onefive, which is comprised of 4 Sakura Gakuin graduates (Kano, Momo, Soyo and Gumi). Kano only performed with BABYMETAL in Japan as she could not travel, likely due to her commitments to Sakura Gakuin and the then developing @onefive. We are #notacult. Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘
Nice, great reaction! I know you're not familiar, so no worries, but be sure to keep an eye out for the song version we include as well! It does make a difference at times. Especially since Babymetal's primary attribute is exceptional live performance, as they are at their core, 100% a live performance band. Their live sound so good, that my entire playlist is just my collection of live audio vs their studio. As other's mentioned, Momo does the growl [[ ARE YOU READY?! ]] after her Kabuki theater part in the live only, so be sure to check out the "Official Live" version. As a matter of fact, just do lives only for future reactions lol. Of course, their MVs are good well, but, there's a reason they only have ~13 MVs out of 60+ discography across 14 years. Other suggestions to add to your list, especially for the heavy: *Headbanger (Legend 1997):* The classic early Babymetal sound during lead Su-metal's 16th birthday show from Dec 2013. *Headbanger (Legend MM):* Affectionately known as "Momobanger", her special performance during her Mar 2024 show celebrating her 21st birthday. She turns into Momozilla lol. Becareful with copyrights on this one, since the concert BluRay is not even released yet. You can find complilations with the concert audio on UA-cam right now (good enough I guess). *Road of Resistance (Pia Arena MM, 2023 OR "Official Live"):* An epic power metal battle anthem, in the style of Dragonforce. Both are amazing performances, ~9 years apart. *Rondo of Nightmare (Budokan 2014):* For the musicians, for the heavy, for the vocals, FOR THE FOX GOD. *BABYMETAL DEATH (Legend 1997):* 2 nods to Metallica, and a stage show that will put Alice Cooper to shame. What a way to close a sweet-16th BDay show lol. I'm sure you'll get more from rest of the commentors. Enjoy! 🤘🦊
@@HeadbangHarbor no hate. Babymetal is best live. And their collaborations are great and fun. But they are most epic on their own and live. In my opinion. 😀💜
MoMoBanger! (Only need to type in that and it will come up). Su hands over the mic to MoMo in celebration of her 21 st birthday. Note; MoMo growls the second "Are You Ready" in Ratatata.
On Stage and another video version that zhey filmed on Stage Momo terminates her scene with a growl (Are you ready) that is also in Ratatata. At first this was only a slight Joke, but since this Collab she started to call her growl, her fangs.
BABYMETAL is THE best LIVE band on the planet Road of Resistance LIVE at PIA ARENA 2023 And Monochrome LIVE at PIA ARENA 2023 HQ Pro Shots from Hymnodic channel. You will understand.
The only song so far where Momo growls an the studio recording is "Ratatata". Aside from that she did on some songs it during the live performances they've done since she officially joined.
Great reaction, thanks and welcome back! Just to summarize: Momometal growls specifically here: - "Metali!" (any live version). - "Headbanger!" (live at Legend-MM 20 Night) aka "Momobanger". - "Meta Taro" (live at Legend MM 21 Night) aka "Momotaro". - "RATATATA" (both studio and live versions). Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey! 🤘🦊
Metali is portmanteau of the words "metal" (obviously) and "matsuri" which is a traditional Japanese festival, so it's a song about a metal festival, which is why it has such energetic, celebratory energy. Because this is a particularly Japanese song, the lyrics are all in Japanese. Most of the time they mix in a bit of English in the lyrics, but not on this occasion. The breakdown in the middle where Momo does her dance feature is in the style of a traditional kabuki theater performance. When they perform it live, they have the crowd all crouch down like an audience watching a kabuki play, and then she growls "Are you ready?!" at the end of it, but for some reason that's not on the studio version (which is why the live is better). Momo has only been a full member of Babymetal for a bit over a year, so she's only contributed vocally to three songs - Metali, Leave It All Behind, and Ratatata. We've yet to really see her unique vocal talents fully realized, but from what they said in a recent interview, they plan to leverage her growls more on the next album. My recommendation for what to watch next is "Megitsune" Live at PIA Arena 2023 - ua-cam.com/video/edbqQ-ldF_U/v-deo.html
Hi from Ireland, your commenters will have lots of great suggestion but I think really to get a true experience of their audience, vocals and awesome staging, check out two recent tracks live pia arena , monochrome and road of resistance live at pia and as you wished they are in Japanese epic, I suggest two recent ones as its a good intro before you checkout early early releases when they were very young. Not saying its not hood the early stuff but there is maybe 2 tracks that have stopped reactors giving them a fair hearing.
As someone already said you need to see the live version to hear Momo scream since the scream isn't on the studio version. And going forward I would suggest that you try to react to live performances of their songs since those are overall usually way better than their studio stuff.
@@HeadbangHarbor The music videos are cerainly fun too so no harm in watching those aswell. The biggest reason for me to like their live stuff more is that babymetal is heavier live. Since their studio musicians are completely different from their live musicians and the live musicians really go for even more of a heavy sound. Also the girls sound a bit more "raw" live since there isn't as much effects on Su's vocals for example. Looking forward to see more reactions from you!
@@HeadbangHarbor in Japanese it's Metari. It's a mix of two words. Metal and Matsuri. Matsuri means festival. The guitarist for Hanabie is named Matsuri. You should watch Be the Gal or Otaku lovely Densetsu by Hanabie. Hanabie is heavier than Babymetal and superficially similar.
This song is a shoutout to Japanese Shinto religious festivals where people carry religious parade floats and shout "washoi! washoi!" as they go through the crowd. Their backing band (the "Kami" band) is made up of some of the best metal musicians in Japan, and they routinely go hard AF. "Catch Me If You Can" is a good example. It's about playing a game of tag with demons. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/ugnyM69LN54/v-deo.html
Good reaction but you need to see the LIVE version for the "scream" :P her voice is DEFINITELY better in Japanese - I think the language structure of Japanese works brilliantly with her voice, her English singing is good - but there's no comparison really. ermmm. Ecept maybe dusk till dawn :P
When you said Su-Metal can really hit those high notes, that was nothing. You should check out From Dusk Till Dawn. She REALLY hits the high notes in that song. As for Momogrowls. Well, best song for that would be Momobanger. But first, I'd recommend watching Headbanger, then watch Momobanger as Momobanger was performed as a birthday celebration for Momometal. That is the one where she has the most growls. Incidentally, Momo DOES actually have growls in Ratatata as well. It's hard to know where she growls and where the guy growls, but you can hear it if you know what to look for. Near the end of the song when the guy is holding the wires and he screams, "Are you ready", he screams it once and then you hear it said again, but he doesn't say it. THAT was Momo. It happens around the 2min 28 second mark roughly. She also does one other growl/scream too but I forgot where. Momo also DOES do a growl in Metali, but only in the live versions. You don't see/hear it in the music video. I think it was meant as a surprise for the fans during concerts. Anyhow, looking forward to more reactions!
👍 You need to check out the live version to hear MOMO's “Are You Ready” growl. This MV is Fun, Fun and more Fun. 🔥🔥🔥!!!! Great reaction.🦊 🦊 🦊 🖖❤ Babymetal - BxMxC (Budokan 2021 Live) Eng Subs for a rap performance.
@@HeadbangHarbor I noticed it a few watches in, when I realized Kevin's lips weren't moving that 2nd time, then I saw everyone else posting, then the boys at Dicodec Channel did an audio isolation. Cheeky Momo haha 🤘🦊
I am tempted to recommend a song like _Sis Anger_ or _Tales of the Destinies,_ just to throw you for a bit of a loop 🙂. Babymetal has a very varied catalogue, to say the least. But if you have only heard two of their latest songs, I think it could be interesting to go back and listen to some of their older stuff. Like _Megitsune,_ from their first album (back in 2014). An old fan favorite that is both heavy and cute, with elements of traditional Japanese music and EDM in addition to the metal: ua-cam.com/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/v-deo.htmlsi=nKtQzJabXviu9arO
Nice reaction. as others have said they have a few MV's that are really good but it's best to watch the live versions. next, a couple suggestion: Maya (PIA Arena 2023 Live) ua-cam.com/video/2oVVX1yIdig/v-deo.html Catch Me If You Can (with Kami Band Intro) | LIVE at Budokan Black Night ua-cam.com/video/YiAJeKgufMk/v-deo.html Also another good band to check out is Hanabie, from what you said you will prob. like them, they also have really fun MV's.
Momo's favorite song is Road of Resistance. I would suggest recent live performances of their songs Road of Resistance, Monochrome and Megitsune from their PIA Arena 2023 concerts. Road of Resistance: ua-cam.com/video/4XYMvGJy1JI/v-deo.html Monochrome: ua-cam.com/video/8pvxCzhBsTM/v-deo.html Megitsune: ua-cam.com/video/RorkQ79V-68/v-deo.html Recent performance playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL7Y918oJxXaYGAlhN3DLd5AAoye11F3o4.html
Yeah, nice job. For Momo's scream you need to watch the live mv of this song. The live version has the energy of this version just dialed up about 5x. For a great heavy track I'd recommend Babymetal, Road of Resistance, Live PIA Arena, Clear NIght (link follows): ua-cam.com/video/XpGRYhY897E/v-deo.html
Due to the overwhelming suggestions for live BABYMETAL… I will be reacting to the three most recommended songs next week! Stay tuned! 🦊 🤘🏻
Momo-Metal screams on the live version of the song. She does a very similar "Are You Ready?" to the one she did on Ratatata.
Well, now you pretty much have to check out the live version as well, because Momoko's growl isn't in the studio version. It's not a lot, but it's new for us fans, so we are pretty happy and proud of her. :-) I'm glad that they made you smile and looking forward to your next reaction.
"Ooh! She can get up there!" To hear how far "up there" Su-metal can get, react to "From Dusk Till Dawn" Live at Budokan 2021.

Babymetal are:
Suzuka Nakamoto\Su-Metal (Vocals and Dance): Angel of Song, Queen Su, Queen of Kawaii, Metal Queen, and Metal Goddess.
Before Sakura Gakuin, she performed in a stage production of "The Adventurers" and was a member of the JPop trio, Karen Girls.
Fun Fact: Bullfrogs are her Kryptonite
Yui Mizuno\Yuimetal (Scream and Dance) Left the group in 2018 due to undisclosed health issues: Angel of Dance, Princess Yui, Yui-bot, Tomato Princess, Tomato-Kun, Kawaii Princess and Devourer of Souls (or at least she stares into your soul).
They were:
Momoko Okazaki (see above).

Other suggestions to add to your list, especially for the heavy:
*Headbanger (Legend 1997):* The classic early Babymetal sound during lead Su-metal's 16th birthday show from Dec 2013.
Enjoy! 🤘🦊
But... Babymetal featuring Tom Morello isnt just babymetal. lol But much love... from canada. This band rocks.
No vocal feature is more of what I meant. ✊🏻
And she does both of the "EVERYBODY"s.
🤘🦊🤘
On Stage and another video version that zhey filmed on Stage Momo terminates her scene with a growl (Are you ready) that is also in Ratatata. At first this was only a slight Joke, but since this Collab she started to call her growl, her fangs.
Watch the live version of Metali!! you will get Momo's scream.
BABYMETAL is THE best LIVE band on the planet
Road of Resistance LIVE at PIA ARENA 2023
And
Monochrome LIVE at PIA ARENA 2023 HQ Pro Shots from Hymnodic channel. You will understand.
The only song so far where Momo growls an the studio recording is "Ratatata". Aside from that she did on some songs it during the live performances they've done since she officially joined.
🤘🦊🤘 Liked and subscribed.
Great reaction🤘🦊♪
The second "are you ready" growl in Ratatata is Momo-metal.
Great reaction, thanks and welcome back!
Just to summarize: Momometal growls specifically here:
- "Metali!" (any live version).
- "Headbanger!" (live at Legend-MM 20 Night) aka "Momobanger".
- "Meta Taro" (live at Legend MM 21 Night) aka "Momotaro".
- "RATATATA" (both studio and live versions).
Enjoy your BABYMETAL journey!

Rapping? BxMxC
I did notice a lot of comments about live shows. I do love music videos though! A thought for next video, for sure!
Sounds like rapping? BxMxC should be on your list, then. It will satisfy the heavy requirement, too.
Here's the link:
ua-cam.com/video/ugnyM69LN54/v-deo.html
With the live version of this song, you get the MOMO growl. This was one of the first videos she did since she's the newest member, April of 2023.
You almost always have to do the live videos, she growls/screams on this track when it is live

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pls react to Road of Resistance live in Japan, PA PA YA feat.F Hiro, B x M x C , Arkadia, Headbanger , Kingslayer feat.BMHZ.
Momo doesn't growl in the audio version of this, just in the live version. She does have her spoken word part in the middle, though.
👍 You need to check out the live version to hear MOMO's “Are You Ready” growl. This MV is Fun, Fun and more Fun. 🔥🔥🔥!!!! Great reaction.🦊 🦊 🦊 🖖❤
Babymetal - BxMxC (Budokan 2021 Live) Eng Subs for a rap performance.
Awwww I hope we get some growls on a studio song in the future!
@@HeadbangHarbor We already did 😉 Go back to Ratatata, listen for the second "are you ready" after Kevin. Who could that be?! 🙀🤘🦊
@@Ganimal83 I hear it now! Such a heavily produced song.
An old fan favorite that is both heavy and cute, with elements of traditional Japanese music and EDM in addition to the metal:

This song live, Momobanger, and Ratata has Momo growling
Nice reaction. as others have said they have a few MV's that are really good but it's best to watch the live versions. next, a couple suggestion:
Maya (PIA Arena 2023 Live)
ua-cam.com/video/2oVVX1yIdig/v-deo.html
Catch Me If You Can (with Kami Band Intro) | LIVE at Budokan Black Night
ua-cam.com/video/YiAJeKgufMk/v-deo.html
Also another good band to check out is Hanabie, from what you said you will prob. like them, they also have really fun MV's.
Babymetal are awesome! I hope you will also check out the awesome all female Japanese Metal band Nemophila next!
Momo's favorite song is Road of Resistance. I would suggest recent live performances of their songs Road of Resistance, Monochrome and Megitsune from their PIA Arena 2023 concerts.
Road of Resistance: ua-cam.com/video/4XYMvGJy1JI/v-deo.html
Monochrome: ua-cam.com/video/8pvxCzhBsTM/v-deo.html
Megitsune: ua-cam.com/video/RorkQ79V-68/v-deo.html
Recent performance playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL7Y918oJxXaYGAlhN3DLd5AAoye11F3o4.html
