Why spend hundreds of dollars and time having each oil change performed at the dealer? With a small upfront cost of purchasing the tools required to do the job yourself, you can save yourself hundreds (if not thousands) over the life of your boat!

15W-40 Oil rated for gasoline engines. NOTE: Rotella T-6 does not have the required SJ/CH4 gasoline API rating like Delo 400XLE (which has SN/CK-4, which is better than the required ratings). I prefer synthetics over conventional, but either are great if you change your oil every 25-50 hours. Delo 400XLE Synthetic Blend used in video:
Delo 400 XLE conventional (still SN/CK-4 rated) is available with this link:

Oil Filter. NOTE: Engine manual calls for Pennzoil PZ3 or AC-PF25 oil filter. Use this link to find compatible filters from different brands

Thanks for making this! Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for making this video, very helpful. Did you ever end up making one for the trans fluid change?
Thanks, I appreciate it! I didn’t make one for the transmission, although I changed out my transmission fluid and filter this past spring. I used the same 15W-40 I did in the engine for the transmission per the MCX engine manual. Here’s the transmission manual, good info on page 27. Hardest part was finding a funnel that made it easy to put oil down the dipstick hole on the left of the transmission (seriously, I spilled a bit, but with a better funnel it would’ve been easy). Took out the filter assembly on the right, put the oil suction through the filter hole, put a new filter assembly back in, filled with oil, easy as that!

Yes I agree great video! Always helpful to watch someone that has already done an oil change on this type of motor! But same I was waiting for the trans filter that you mentioned in the beginning of the video. I was like … wait did I miss when he did it lol!
