I thought it doesn't matter which way the veins are facing? Once installed and engine turned on they will all turn over the correction position anyway?
At 10:10, the discoloration on the outer housing cover indicate you had a leak? The shinny surface was from good gasket seat. The dark sections look like water was leaking by????
Just did impeller change on my 2000 xstar. Very similar. I noticed there were 2 o rings that come along with your impeller, as did mine. What are these o rings for?
I have the same boat as your video ('08 MC X2) but when i went to get down to the impeller that is a huge tube right up against the impeller. There was no way for me to get the screws off of access the impeller without taking other things apart. Did you have to do this in this video? or how to i access the impeller?
Thanks and good info. No way shold I be charged $400 to do this at dealer. I always do on even years with 30 years of success with inboards in fresh water. Probably the most importantat maintence item other than oil change and belts/hoses. Do this and you will have more days of boating with no drama. Thanks -
Perfect video my man. I’ve never done this prior to today and watched your video once, worked like a charm. Appreciate the assist!
Awesome! With the right tools it’s not too bad! Happy Boating!!
Good instructions. Glad mine is a centre mount/direct drive though. So much easier.
Yes, a direct drive would be much easier! Thanks for watching!
Very helpful video. I need to replace my serpentine belt. Do you know how to get it off? In other words, how to loosen the tenshioner?
I’m not sure how it’s loosened.
I have changes the impellers on my three ballast pumps and it is a bit tricky to get all of them pointing in the proper direction.
Yes they can be tricky

That makes sense to me, I just wanted to be thorough.
Is there an intake filter that is inline to the impeller? Nice video, thanks!
Not on mine, some might have a strainer that filters the water before it reaches the impeller, usually it's by the v drive if it has it.
@@Myksgarage Ok, thanks!

It wasn’t leaking, perhaps it was In the past

I believe they are for other boats whose pump requires them, mine didn’t

Sounds like you have a different exhaust than mine. I didn't have to remove anything
@@Myksgarage dang, idk how to get to it now. youre video made it look super easy but when i got into my boat and tried theres just to much in the way
@@joshleduc282 same! I have a massive exhaust tube in the way, so I don’t see how I could get it in our out.
@@TheGbwebb6407same for me .. the huge exhaust tube right in the way for topside access
Thanks! Very helpful!
Thanks for watching!!
