Completely agree, especially regarding schools and diversity. I moved to Charlotte in 2008 and diversity has drastically increased, but you definitely have to research and find events compared to other metros like DMV or ATL.
Most definitely have to research and plan ahead. That’s something I had to get used to
Great video sir. You have solidified my decision for moving. Thank you!
Thanks for the shout-out to Columbia SC Sir Ashley! Columbia is facing some of the same issues as Charlotte, but perhaps on a smaller scale. Traffic in and around Charlotte is a beast compared to Columbia. They are in the process of revamping parts of the I-20 and I-26 corridors to try to alleviate some of the issues we have with traffic. In the meantime traffic will be a nightmare. In my opinion as far as nightlife Charlotte has Columbia beat. I think everything is geared towards college students. USC is has been consistently buying land to build more student housing in and around USC. I think Columbia does offer a lot for families and can always find something to do that doesn't cost money. I do wish we had more restaurants like Charlotte. The thing I like best about Columbia is if you go 4 hours in any direction you can get to Atlanta, Myrtle Beach, Greenville and places like that. I love visiting Charlotte because it does offer some things we don't have.
Yeah the Cost of Living threw us off. Coming from NYC the housing is a steal but everything else is not the savings we thought
Great video and great points! I'm curious if you think home prices will come down some in southern metros like Charlotte and Atlanta. I love both these places. Apparently, there are a lot of new homes that will be finished in 2023 which could bring us back to high or normal housing inventory. This combine with high interest rates might lead to a drop in home prices. I'm hoping so.
I’m Still moving there lol
Me too😮
Growing up in NY ! Being from Atlanta! Living in South Central, Long Beach, Inglewood, and Crenshaw ! Charlotte is going to be a piece of cake 😅😂❤
That’s how I feel. Lived in Los Angeles , Houston and New Orleans and now I think Charlotte will be the happy medium
This dude is spot-on
Thanks...great ADVICE...Came to Charlotte in 1973, left Charlotte in 1976....Visited twice...Be Careful when in Charlotte.😅
Care to elaborate? Be careful about what?
Be careful u don't step on a Mexican, because there's literally thousands in Charlotte. I'm from Cleveland Ohio, not much else to be careful of here in Charlotte I ain't already seen
I don’t know why so many people want to move to areas that are so congested and overpriced. Maybe the people moving into the area are from much more expensive areas, so Charlotte, looks more affordable.
Evry major metro area is congested and considered overpriced... but of the major metro areas, Charlotte is one of the more reasonably priced ones.
Yup I get allergy shots since I moved here the air is thick & im on a controlled inhaler it’s terrible I can’t wait to leave 😂😂😂
Yes the same for Texas! People come here and then realize it is not as cheap as they thought. We have sky high property taxes and utilities for example. Lots of taffic even late at night. We have a lot of gun violence...you randomly here gun shots from time to time. People have a hard time woth allergies in Austin and SA so heads up about that too.
Sounds like Jacksonville, Fl... Im from South Carolina lived in Jax, Fl for almost 20 years and moving to NC soon. Jacksonville cant be better than Charlotte.... Air quality, crime, cost of living, everything under the sun is horrible here.... So moving to NC will be the same...
Charlotte is best for people who already have a great job in banking or medical field and are transferring to the Charlotte location to buy a home after selling their home in a more expensive market. Renting in Charlotte is extremely expensive and it’s not easy to find available units in desirable neighborhoods. It’s also a mostly go to work and go home to family kind of town. Very limited things to do. No beaches. Lakes mostly back to private homes. Sure there are sports teams. We do get big names for concerts. We have malls (they are becoming increasingly affected by crime). If you are looking for a quiet lifestyle and plan to buy a home you can find quiet neighborhoods. You just have to plan to travel 4 hours for a beach getaway.
He makes me more motivated to move there 😅
It’s like there in all of NC as it pertains to allergies
Spot on review 👍🏽 Diverse or segregated culture?
Commuting 2-3 hours to work one way...who does that??
Charlotte is closed until prices come down 😂
Lol. I feel you
What about employment? Make your next video about employment please
He's speaking according to His tax bracket.
What is the relationship like between Blacks and the law enforcement. Are cops over reactive, is it laid back. Are there gang affiliations or cliques and judging. Everywhere has issues but to what degree. Just asking
I been here abt a yr. Comin from Ohio, Imma have to say law enforcement is SUPER laid back here. But I'm not on the Westside, which I hear is the hood part of Charlotte
way over priced for an ok city
Thanks for watching and providing us with your perspective.
Also Charlotte is not walkable and public transportation sucks and not diverse
I have to agree. I'm a native of Charlotte and transportation sucks.
