Hi my dears my very first Chicago this was immersive! do watch with me to the end for my final thoughts :) like, subscribe, comment :) let’s connect: linktr.ee/mrspenpal
Chicago was a total badass band of talented musicians who could throw down with anyone. They were never the same after Terry Kath's accidental death. 25 or 6 to 4 is a time reference. Robert Lamm wrote this during a bout of writer's block. He was up all night trying to work on a song and the time when he looked up, it was 25 or 26 minutes to 4 am.
Yes Robert Lamm (keyboardist and one of the 3 original lead singers along with Peter Cetera and Terry Kath -RIP) wrote the lyrics early one morning trying to write a song. Trombonist James Pankow did the music along with RL. 🔥🔥
You should do this version. Terry was on FIRE🔥 ---> Chicago - 25 or 6 to 4 - 7/21/1970 - Tanglewood (Official) ua-cam.com/video/7uAUoz7jimg/v-deo.html&pp=ygUcY2hpY2FnbyAtIDI1IG9yIDYgdG8gNCBsaXZlIA%3D%3D
@@MrsPenPal The Tanglewood live performance in July 1970 is insanely good. Just seven dudes onstage jamming like you couldn't believe. Seeing Terry Kath on guitar will blow you away. You have to watch the entire concert. There's a seven movement suite called "Ballet For A Girl In Buchannon" that includes two of their biggest hits, "Make Me Smile" and "Colour My World", both with lead vocals by guitar master Terry Kath.
Great reaction... If you decide to continue down this path you will enjoy it completely... I've been listening to Chicago since the early 70s before I was a teenager... I've seen them in concert many times though after 1980... So I never saw them with lead guitarist Terry Kath who sadly passed away... Let's GOOOOOOO ❤❤
Looks like they made you smile so now you have to check out their song Make Me Smile. The guy who sings in this song Terry Kath the lead guitarist said one of his influences was Ray Charles and you can definitely hear Ray's influence in his voice.
Loved your reaction, Blessing. ❤ Yes, it's an epic tune -- one of the group's best. 25 or 6 to 4 is a reference to a time. The singer isn't sure if it is 25 to 4 or 26 to 4, but it's definitely in the wee hours of the morning. I believe it is about his attempt to write a song and his frustration with getting the lyrics, and he's working later and later into the night ... now approaching the break of day. I don't know if you ever follow up with live versions of songs you have listened to, but there is one of this song including one of the best guitar solos you'll ever hear. 😊 Good luck keeping all of those plates spinning in your life -- I'm sure it's overwhelming much of the time. Which makes it all the more lovely when you drop wonderful reactions such as this. Love coming back at you!! ❤️❤️
You said that it was like the music flowed through you. Watching you, it was like your body read the tones, the beat, the instruments, and you moved to it all in such fantastic synchronicity. You rule, love!
Chicago is known as "the rock & roll band with horns (trumpet, trombone & sax). "25 or 6 to 4" is about staying up late at night trying to write a song. 25 or 6 to 4 refers to the song writer being so tired, he wasn't sure if it was either 25 minutes or 26 minutes before 4:00AM.
Go dig up their debut album when they were known as The Chicago Transit Authority and play these two tracks: "Introduction" and "Poem 58". Guitar player Terry Kath wrote "Introduction" and sang lead vocals. He was called "The White Ray Charles" by his bandmates. Soulful baritone voice! "Poem 58" is nine minutes of PURE FUNK led by Terry Kath on guitar, Danny Seraphine on drums, and Peter Cetera on bass. Kath's guitar will make you want an ice pack for your jaw after you pick it up from the floor! ua-cam.com/video/j8aJiLUaWGI/v-deo.html When they were "The Chicago Transit Authority", they were the house band at the Whisky a Go Go in LA. One night between sets, Jimi Hendrix, who was in the audience, went to their dressing room after catching their first set. He approached their sax player Walt Parazaider and said, "You guys have a horn section that sounds like one set of lungs and a guitar player that's better than me! You wanna go on the road?" They said "YEAH!". And that's how they became Hendrix's opening act on a national arena tour.
Since you like vocals you MUST dive into some Phil Collins. (trust me) Another incredible musician with soul. I won't give any details to let you be surprised. Any of his videos or with the band Genesis will do.

You should now watch the video Chicago live at Tanglewood!

Wow sorry to hear about Terry and the title is 🔥🔥🔥
You're right. After Terry Kath passed, Chicago lost its edge. They transitioned to all the sappy ballads. Early Chicago was the best.
@@skevich1 Agree 100% Terry IMHO was the spearhead in the band for pushing the envelope. Never the same without him.
25 or 6 to 4 in the morning when the song was wrote try live in tanglewood awesome!!!
🔥🔥🔥

Got me thinking of marching bands 😍
Absolutely great reaction. Top 5 bands all time
Absolutely lovely comment 🔥🔥🔥😀
25 or 6 to 4 is in the morning. Another band with great musicians. There is a LIVE version of this that is amazing.
This was nice, but you really must react to their live performance of this song ‘’at Tanglewood." You won’t regret it.
Thank you I appreciate you

Aye Let’s go 🔥🔥🔥. Sad to hear about Terry
Terri’s playing on this is the greatest! Jimi Hendrix said he was better than himself

Great band! Great song! Great review!
Thanks Igor you are too wonderful! 🙏
It is 25 or 26 minutes until 4 a.m. and he needs to stay awake to finish his song
That’s a brilliant way to put it thanks
Watching you was my inner self reacting..lol
When I was young and I felt the room was spinning I knew I had too much to drink. And I knew the rest of my night was not going to be good.

"25 Or 6 To 4" answers "Questions 67 and 68" starting with "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?"
You'd enjoy watching the version Chicago with Earth Wind and Fire.
Thank you for watching looking forward to more
I'm from Chicago suburbs and saw them in local bars in Arlington heights area. They were a very good band. I saw them in the 70s.
Wow that’s so cool 😀
@@MrsPenPal I'm a follower and really enjoy your opinions on videos. Keep doing a great job. God bless you and your family.
Thanks my dear your comment is so heart warming 💕
25 or 6 to 4 meant that they were practicing so many hours while they were writing songs in a Colorado ranch.
