This is the MultiCode remote, that I'll be changing the code on today.
First I would like to show you how open the remote properly
The best tool is the visor clip. We are going to slide it out and use it to pry it open like this.
And the reason why, is this little tab here, will rake against the middle dip switches. So if you open it like this.
It will change the dip switches with this tab. Just a quick tip on opening the remote.
Now for the MultiCode receiver, you'll see this in your gate operator. This receives the signal from the remote.
You'll notice these tabs here and here. The cover comes off by squeezing the sides and lifting the cover. The board is located in the cover.
And there are the dip switches that match the remote here.
You can change these switches with a small screwdriver or pen.
Like this.
You'll want to match the dip switches on the remote to be the exact same as the receiver
These are now the same
The switches have only two positions on or off
And now we can put the cover back on like this,
and now the receiver,
put the top clip in first,
and squeeze the sides to put it back together.
The "how to open" segment was, oddly enough, very useful. Thanks.
Saved me. The instruction manual didn't caution against that peg changing the code on you if you open it wrong. I was able to guess my condo community's gate code within 40 attempts systematically going through combinations of the middle digits.
The part of "how to open" helps me to open mine. The box is very tricky to open. Thanks for making this video. Very helpful
I needed to know how to open it. Thank you!
thanks just need to know how to open it; lols cant believe that was the hardest part
Thank You so much,I had a problem and You solved it in 20 seconds 😀😀
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!! How to open it was what I came searching for and you answered that straight-away!
Thank you! easy, simple and fast!
Probably the most helpful thing on youtube
Thank you for posting this! Really saved me with this :)
nice video..... the trick to open the remote is very useful. follow these instructions to avoid additional complications.
Ty for the video and the clip opening however the gloves makes me feel like a bank heist :)
Omg thanks you save my life!!!!
Great instruction! Turned out my mom's openers were old. I ordered replacements off of Amazon and followed your instructions to match the code in them to the receiver, and in less than a minute her garage door was fixed!
How does this work for a gated neighborhood? I have this exact same MultiCode remote that used to work for my community gate to enter my neighborhood. However, when the HOA changed the gate code like they do every so often, now my remote no longer works. How can I reprogram my remote to work with the new code the HOA has set? Thanks in advance for the help
Very simple to open multicode remote controls for change batteries
Thanx bro ur video very helpful
I need help the black and red wire came off from where it was connected how can I put them back in the little hole ???? Can’t find anywhere on the internet
Thank You , Very Helpfull Thks For Posting ...

thanks for this video
I just broke mine trying to open it 😂
Very good :) thanks for posting this video.
dude this video so saved my ass right now. LOVE THE INTERWEB
Thank you for help
Thanks!!!
Got it . Thank you 🙏
It wasn't easy to remove the visor clip. I had to push down, towards the transmitter, to be able to pull it out. Then, pressing down with my finger on the bottom part of the cover made it easier to pop it open (though a small internal peg still broke off).
Can you show us how to program the linear remote to a receiver a without a dip switch. Thank you in advance
thank you this video just saved me a lot of money! thanks again!
The terms used don't correspond with a key mark inside the remote. The "Open" label at the bottom row of the dip switches. Video after video of remotes use "on" and "off" or "minus," "zero," or "plus" but I have yet to find one that uses the Multi-code marking "Open" which you can see in the video at the bottom of the dip switches. So if a user depresses the top toggle of a dip switch is that "on" or "off"?
Depends on the age of the remote. Off = open, On = closed, Zero = off/open. Hope that helps. A remote with +,0, - is a different brand than MultiCode, however the principal is the same. Match the receiver and transmitters dip switches.
Thank you!
Everything home door openr
I have an old Sears garage door opener receiver. It has 9 dip switches. I ordered a new remote opener - it has 10 dip switches. Are these compatible?
Excellent, thank you!
I recently purchased a few new remotes, programmed them but they still dont work. What do I do now
What Keychain size remote would you recommend with the multicode receiver in the video?
the cables of my control came off. I need to weld them again. What is the easiest way to remove the whole cap. so I can see the rest of the circuit board?
thank you
I have 4 of this remote it would work in the beginning then stop working all of a sudden.
Can it open two dofferent gates?
ARD model: Anyone know what years these were produced?
Just put a new sliding gate , I have the same remote and receiver but when I push the remote from my car visor to open the gate it won't do it I have to stand right next to the motor so it can open .. can anyone tell me how to fix the problem. Tks.
Does this only work for a gate control or is it used for a garage door opener?
It will work as long as you have a matching receiver on the garage door opener. Most garage door openers have a learn button and no dip switches.
@@Thegategeek2014 how can you program the remote to the receiver without the dip switch?
Does anyone know how to enter the # symbol? My code is this symbol with 4 numbers. Thank you
What if i have a remote that has 8 switches and want to program the 10 switch remote to open the same gate will it work?
No, however if the remote and receiver match freq and dip switches, the same process will work.
would this work with the home link system that's installed on some car from factory?
luismm10 yes but you may have to "use different instructions", I have done it before. Let me know if you want me to tell you how
What about the order of the code? How do you adjust that? Video does not show that.
The order does not matter. They are just on or off.
Hopefully someone looks for this before trying to open it with their nail ;-'(
is there an mobile app to avoid using these remotes
