  • If you have a garage door operator from the 1970's, 80's or 90's then you may just have a Multi-Code radio receiver attached to your operator. The 1090 Multi-Code receiver and 3089 remote control are very common when it comes to operators from 25 + years ago.
If you're looking to program your existing radio equipment or if you need to replace the existing radio equipment on your operator then watch our short video and we'll show you how to install the 1090 Multi-Code radio receiver and program the 3089 remote control.
If you're interested in purchasing the Multi-Code 1090 Radio Receiver and Remote together then you'll find it here: www.garagedoor...

I was gonna replace my garage door motor as our remotes are falling apart and the external receiver isn't that strong. This is great!!!

The new operators aren't made to last like the old ones. If you can keep your old one going by just replacing the radio equipment then it's worth it. Thanks for watching.

Great video! I am having trouble with mine. The door will shut, but it will not open when I use the remote. When I use the button on the wall, the door opens, but it will not open using the remote. It does shut when I use the remote, so I’m not sure what needs to be done to fix that?

Great video. How can I extend the range on that receiver? Is there an antenna I can adapt?

If you're experiencing range issues then check your operator and around your garage for CFL low energy light bulbs. When these bulbs aren't working properly they have been known to interfere with garage door opener radio receivers and could cause range issues.
You could mount the radio receiver somewhere up closer to the header of the garage but you'd need to hook a transformer up to the receiver to supply power to it. You could also go with the MultiCode model 1099 which is a gate operator radio receiver and has stronger signal reception. Thanks for watching!

Does anyone know if the Homelink button in my car can be programmed to work with this receiver?

Hey, I have one of those same old style three terminal Multicode radio receivers installed on my electric swing-gate opener (an Eagle Access 200 series).
However, the terminal connections for the THREE terminal receiver option on the opener are labeled from left to right as ...
    3) "24V RADIO POWER"
    2) "RELAY"
    1) "(24V) COMMON GND"
I assume that when a matching code is received wirelessly from the remote, the receiver supplies a momentary connection between terminals 2 and 3. Which triggers a gate open or close action?
EDIT: Make that a momentary connection between terminals "1 and 2." 😁

That's correct. Since the terminals are reversed on your gate opener you can use a wiring harness to connect the receiver. Terminals #1 & #2 can be connected to a wall button to open/close the gate (or door). Hopefully you have the receiver mounted in a protected area out of the weather since these receivers are meant for indoor use & could be damaged by the weather. Multi-Code does make a radio receiver for gates - the model 1099-50.

      @@Garagedoorzone ;
Yes, the Multicode receiver is under the same heavy duty protective plastic housing of the entire opener.
And thanks for confirming that it's actually the momentary connection of terminals "1 and 2" that trigger the open/close of the gate. As I want to convert my gate opener into a Smart one by use of the "Remootio ver. 3" smart controller.
But the manufacturer only list the wiring diagram for the newer 4 terminal RF receiver option on their website.
