@@ayayron8221 Paarl's more of a cat if you look at it closely. Those side and down swipes are cat-like, and the way it charges the AOE is like a cat arching itself.
BloodBorne seems to be the only From Software game where bosses consistently dodge attacks. That said, watching Sekiro enemies parry each other is just as visually interesting.
@@davidhong1934 Yeah, Sekiro's combat is honestly one of the best systems I've seen as of recently. Every fight feels like a dance, whether it's between you and a boss, or an NPC battle. Although, I do wish we had more combo variety. Like being able to switch combat arts mid gameplay instead of switching in a menu
i just finished bloodborne and didn't expect active and enjoyable content for it as it's an old game, I'm so happy to see this channel exist, it's so fun to watch

Dang that was the closest a fight has ever been! Dark beast Paarl was fast, agile, and was overall able to get in more attacks. On the other hand the watch dog did more damage with each hit. It really could have ended either way. This was one heck of a match up!
I'm just assuming that when making this video you'd have to do numerous trials to determine how to adjust health to make the outcome as even as possible. Clearly Paarl's attacks are so strong as to warrant this enormous disparity.

@@EldenMergo Thats the point. They're not equal. Paarl has 4.500 and (after being boosted) Watchdog has 15.100. That's near 4x the HP and he still wins by a hair.

When making a boss, game designer take into consideration how much a player would likely have progressed, as well as the actions available to the player to take against said boss. So some bosses are going to have more health or less health than others because of that. Same with their mechanic, some are just going to win because they were designed with boss vs player in mind moreso than others. So I wouldn't say that Paarl is better just because doggo needed a 4x hp boost here.
I never got a good look at paarl until now (was too busy rolling away). He's legit a human skeleton misshapen to look like a beast, the attention to detail never ceases to amaze me.

It's really lovely to see their movements and all the effort put into their body language from afar. Harder to witness it in full when they are riding you to death.
Now that I think of it , I want to see what a health buffed Paarl would be against Laurence the First Vicar as Paarl actually could do decent damage and Laurence is weaker to bolt then any other element. Or to up the ante (As Paarl is a boss you can fight relatively early) health buffed Loran Dark Beast vs Laurence the First Vicar. If this fight happens , Loran DarkBeast will take the fight. And on the topic of sparky beasts , Abhorrent Beast vs Orphan of Kos!
After watching many of these VS battles I've come to realize that when met with decently equal health, the Bloodborne bosses and NPCS are practically perfectly balanced. Most of the time it is a very very very close match and not one complete sweep. It's very interesting
Kinda surprising this is the best boss vs boss video yet. Many bosses have attacks designed specifically against the player so they don't mesh well against another boss, but these two are just beasts going at it.
I really like these videos. Not just for the spectacle but to be able to see somee of the larger creatures movements without the player or camera getting in the way!
I really love your Bloodborne vs vids a lot. Sorry of this has been asked already but what's your process with determining boss health? Is it based on the damage each boss deals, so they take more evenly matched chunks out of each other's health and it's not an overly one sided stomp?
I think health is determined by aggression and poise. Some enemies and bosses are really aggressive. When pit against a comparatively passive opponent, the more aggressive one will win unless the HP difference is massive. Similarly, some bosses have poise made of tissue paper; any attack staggers them, and sustained combos outright prevent them from moving. Again, unless the HP difference is enormous, victory will be determined by poise alone.
@@davidhong1934 He also likely tests bosses multiple times to find the right hp to make it a near-dead even fight. Watchdogs of the old lord had way more health to make it a fair fight, whilst in some of his videos, the bosses have the same hp and still have an equal chance of winning.
Watchdog was definitely saved by that lava pool at the end. He may have done more damage initially but was very unresponsive and clunky compared to Darkbeast.
This is just awesome. Its like bloodborne meets pokemon. We get to watch the bosses from a game we all love fight and use tactics they use in boss fights agsinst an equal opponent
I PRAY that, if bloodborne gets a movie, animated series or whatever, they let paarl and the watchdog fight. Just imagine the battle here, but more composed, the beasts bite into each other, bumping into obstacles while being shot at by the hunters loosing limbs, fire and lightning burning away the surroundings. Before watching the video , I predict WDotOL to win over DBP. As sad as I am to admit that , Paarl has a more defensive moveset compared to the WatchDog and will always back his self away (to either recharge or get distance) which will make the WatchDog charge him (Which already does great damage) or stay aggressive. The fire damage is something also to consider and also Paarl staggers really easily and can literally break into pieces if the WatchDog can hit him enough - which I believe will break the fight in the Watch Dog’s favour. Watch Dog also seems to have more AoE attacks compared to Paarl’s nova charge. I doubt Paarl will win this one I’m afraid. But I’m glad his awesome OST is in this! Edit : A lot closer than I thought it would be! Did not know Paarl’s claws did so much damage do to Watch Dog + LOL just realised Paarl got extinguished not even half way through the fight! But when did he have the time to recharge as I never saw him move back to do that thing?
He couldn't because Watchdog is too aggressive, as the darkbeast is very vulnerable when powering. Paarl made a little mistake at the end and It did cost him the fight.

now this is another fight showing a big flaw in some of the bosses: their attacks are centered on attacking players so they flat out don't hit other bosses (the dogs fire charge, the cleric's double fist grab and so on)
The watchdog looks like Vordt of the Boreal Valley but further mutated into one of Sulyvahn's alligator/dog beasts. Even the title 'of the Old Lords' fits amazingly.
You work is Very good! This is like that movie Dogs vs Cats but with Lovecraft writing the plot and characters. Paarl was losing going against WOL until the AI decided to think and attack his sides, but one final mistake lend to the eletric beast demise. Also, I don't even knew WOL had a explosive attack ,that must be insanely strong against a player. Suggestions: Celestial Emissary and Yurie vs One Reborn and Micolash ,fight of the fake Great Ones of Choir and Mensis

Its only hard in the cursed chalice dungeons, but the regular version is way easier.

The watchdog looks like Vordt of the Boreal Valley but further mutated into one of Sulyvahn's alligator/dog beasts. Even the title 'of the Old Lords' fits amazingly.

You work is Very good! This is like that movie Dogs vs Cats but with Lovecraft writing the plot and characters.
Paarl was losing going against WOL until the AI decided to think and attack his sides, but one final mistake lend to the eletric beast demise. Also, I don't even knew WOL had a explosive attack ,that must be insanely strong against a player.
