Very nice product line. This completely fixes the speedo headache when changing gears and tire sizes on my 4X4s.I haven't seen the dash bracket or a column bracket yet, but I'll keep looking. Not afraid to make one If I have to.
I have this unit and it's great. Easy install and works perfect. All my gauges in the future will be Speedhut. Made in USA and with a Life-time warranty on all gauge electronics and a 5 year warranty on all mechanical hardware. Great company. Great products.
You are the only one on the market to do 100mm diameter km/h scaled GPS odometers! Perfekt G Wagon replacement if the gears inside the original go boom... Thank you for your awesome service and quality hardware!
This is really cool! One of my dream cars is a deuce and a half, they're usually governed at around 50-55MPH and of course one way to go beyond that is to use thinner tires, which then makes your speedometer inaccurate. This would be a perfect way to fix that since it could just screw right in place of the original one-piece speedometer in the dash. It's probably overkill, but it does fix the problem, lol. The hardest part would be converting the 24V electrical system that comes on a deuce into 12V for this.
looks good.. whats the latency from 0MPH? some GPS units without an accelerometer take a couple of seconds to register a change in satellite position from a standstill
You will not need your VSS sensor. This speedometer uses GPS to determine speed. Yes car will shift correctly. The only requirement is 12 volts power to power unit.
Interested in your GPS Speedometer for my 1990 Dodge D150 pickup. My mechanical odometer doe not work, even after changing the plastic gear. So you can plug this GPS Speedometer into your cigarette lighter for power, is that correct? What is involved with this method to provide power to speedometer? I don't want to drain my battery, as I live in New England, and winters are pretty cold here, so I don't want a drain on the battery. Will your GPS Speedo work in my truck? Thank you!
A thanks for the reply and good to know about the silicone to last longer in that case I will add it to a old Jeep I have to I changed the transmission and I can’t find the plastic gears ⚙️ for the speedometer this will work perfectly because I don’t have a roof thanks and good video
1badcj8 - Late to the party here but I have an old land rover with similar flat screen as yours - these work fine with the sensor at the base of the windscreen lying flat as shown on the video - remember that there are heaps of satellites and only a couple will be directly overhead. 👍😊
voltage draw on the hot wire is 100 micro amps. 100 micro amps is not very much and the car battery would still start the car if you didn't start it for a month or so.
You can purchase the largest 4.5" gauge and this 5" adapter: speedhut.com/accessories/mounting-accessories/billet-aluminum-4-5-gauge-spacer-ring-5-hole-mounting-adapter/
Our Jeep gauges are our largest at 5.5": speedhut.com/categories/gauge-application.html?_ga=2.61905644.1973263778.1706039846-1909805664.1692199931&_bc_fsnf=1&Size=5+1%2F2+inch
The gauge is NOT waterproof so it will not be able to be installed on a jetski. We are thinking about offering a waterproof version. Do you think it would be popular?
dereck camacho - under a minute - by the time I've started the engine and warmed it enough to push the choke off it's fine, but I have an old carbied car so would never drive off in a timeframe that would be an issue - I run the hotwire so when out and about no dramas, that only shyts off on mine when i turn of off the battery isolator when at home.
Nope! We proudly manufacture every Speedhut gauge in our factory here in Northern Utah. We don't cut corners on quality components, either. It's all high quality stuff.
Highly accurate, Hugo! The GPS is within 1mph accurate. And it's fast. The GPS updates at rapid rate of 4-5htz per second--a rate so fast you wouldn't notice any delay when braking and accelerating hard.
will it damage the speedo if it gets buried? I'm looking to get one of your smaller ones that is 2 5/8" (thats the only one that will fit) I was looking at your 120mph one. But the car will trap 130 in the 1/4 (and I still have nos) I could go with the 160mph one. but because the gauge is so small I didnt want more compact numbers in there as well.
We do have this ability to add a cruise control output wire. It is configured for 4000 pulses / mile. This could be fed into your ECU on your race car. When you order please let us know in order comments that you would like this added. Costs around 20 to add this feature.
Not really what I was asking, what I was wondering was can it loose connection (to the satellites) and stop working (or not even work) in some areas of the world?
+ownTer . www.speedhut.com is our website. also feel free to give us a call 801-221-1460. The gauges are all lifetime warranty and are made at our shop here locally. We stand behind our products and what you to be happy with your purchase.
Paul, there is a chance being in a tunnel may interfere with the GPS unit, however once you're out of that tunnel - it'll continue to work flawlessly for you.
Extremely reliable. Our GPS Speedometer is commonly used in performance cars with it's fast updating rate at 4-5htz per second. We've had excellent feedback on the gauge, specifically the accuracy of the gauge, with guys reporting back that it operates flawlessly. As for signal loss, you may experience that when going underground through a tunnel. Keep in mind, each gauge is fully customizable, includes a Lifetime Warranty and is made in America. Let me know if you have any questions! Sales@Speedhut.com • 801-221-1460
The speedo will drop to zero and then immediately start working as soon as the signal is acquired. This will only happen in tunnels and parking garages. Weather does not effect the GPS speedo.
Can't get much more accurate than our GPS speedo. It updates at 4-5htz per second - a rate so fast that you wouldn't notice any delay when braking and accelerating hard. In fact, our GPS gauges are commonly used in performance cars! We've had excellent feedback on the gauge, specifically the accuracy of the gauge, with guys reporting back that it operates flawlessly.
We have fixed this spelling several years ago. The video is an older video that shows the incorrect spelling. Rest assured , all gauges shipped have the correct spelling :)
Farcry, our GPS Speedo updates at 4-5htz per second. At that rate, it's nearly impossible to notice any delay. Aside from the accuracy of the GPS gauge, and its ability to work anywhere in the world - each gauge is hand-built using hard-wearing materials and comes with a Lifetime Warranty. It doesn't get any better than that.
Very nice product line. This completely fixes the speedo headache when changing gears and tire sizes on my 4X4s.I haven't seen the dash bracket or a column bracket yet, but I'll keep looking. Not afraid to make one If I have to.
You are exactly right. The GPS speedo makes life easier.
I love how it looks like a classic speedo.
Yes you can get this in kmh. we have many version available in kmh. Ranging all the way up to 300kmh
I have this unit and it's great. Easy install and works perfect. All my gauges in the future will be Speedhut. Made in USA and with a Life-time warranty on all gauge electronics and a 5 year warranty on all mechanical hardware. Great company. Great products.
It will work great in mountain roads, and skyscrapers. it will drop the signal in tunnels but immediately start working once you exit the tunnel.
Do you have a gauge that just shows the brake, engine, seatbelts ect on it or can one be made
You are the only one on the market to do 100mm diameter km/h scaled GPS odometers! Perfekt G Wagon replacement if the gears inside the original go boom...

looks good.. whats the latency from 0MPH? some GPS units without an accelerometer take a couple of seconds to register a change in satellite position from a standstill
The GPS Speedometer takes 1-2 seconds to register
So do i need to pay a service for the signal ?
No, that is not required
Yes, you can view our gauges at night or in the dark. All of our gauges, including the GPS Speedometer, are backlit with an electroluminescent panel.
Will this pass a state vehicle inspection, in place of the factory speedo?
This is awesome, can the odometer be disabled? I want to use it for a marine application
You will not need your VSS sensor. This speedometer uses GPS to determine speed. Yes car will shift correctly. The only requirement is 12 volts power to power unit.

can you put in a already driven milage?

How much
Is there memory storage, how it on ,off when the trip is finish. Can it connect to ignition switch
Nice video and will this gauges work in a motorcycle I like the one with the turn signals high beam
Yes, it works great in motorcycles. For better weather-proofing, request a silicone sealant and we'll add that to the gauge for you (it's free).
A thanks for the reply and good to know about the silicone to last longer in that case I will add it to a old Jeep I have to I changed the transmission and I can’t find the plastic gears ⚙️ for the speedometer this will work perfectly because I don’t have a roof thanks and good video
do you guys make this for holley? their gps speedo seems quite a bit like this
Yes, we build gauges for massive companies like Holley. If it looks like our gauge, it probably is. :)
Can you enter the current odometer mileage that's on your car or truck in this unit?
How much??? Do you have it in white??
How would a motorcycle accommmodate a 15ft antenna?
Most motorcycle guys coil it up, but we can shorten that wire for you.
What about a flat windowed vehicle, like my Jeep. Can I double side tape it to the inside of the windshield and get a signal? Thanks...
1badcj8 y
1badcj8 - Late to the party here but I have an old land rover with similar flat screen as yours - these work fine with the sensor at the base of the windscreen lying flat as shown on the video - remember that there are heaps of satellites and only a couple will be directly overhead. 👍😊
does the hot start wire cause a battery drain when unit is off? if so what is the voltage of the draw? thanks you have some amazing gauges
voltage draw on the hot wire is 100 micro amps. 100 micro amps is not very much and the car battery would still start the car if you didn't start it for a month or so.
also when the power is reset does it remember which screen it was on such as time or compass?
Sorry no promo codes we are running right now. It is a lifetime warranty and made in America.
Great video. I’m sold🤘

Speedhut Custom Gauges
how do you set the mileage if you where to replace a set of gauges
Matthew, you can request in the gauge notes that we set the mileage for you, or you can do it yourself in the GPS Speedometer LCD menu.
is this water proof? front and back ? im planning to install it on the glove box of a jet ski. jet ski sees alot of water
The gauge is NOT waterproof so it will not be able to be installed on a jetski. We are thinking about offering a waterproof version. Do you think it would be popular?
speedhutgauges Very, for motorcycle uses etc
Will it work if the receiver is under a Carbon Fibre nosecone on a Westfield
Yes, our GPS antenna will pick up signal under your carbon fiber nose cone.
Speedhut Tech
how long does it take to start up if you don't use the hot wire?
20-45 seconds. Doesn't take very long.
dereck camacho - under a minute - by the time I've started the engine and warmed it enough to push the choke off it's fine, but I have an old carbied car so would never drive off in a timeframe that would be an issue - I run the hotwire so when out and about no dramas, that only shyts off on mine when i turn of off the battery isolator when at home.
Is it like most products, made in China and marked way up in America.
Nope! We proudly manufacture every Speedhut gauge in our factory here in Northern Utah. We don't cut corners on quality components, either. It's all high quality stuff.
so this reads the speed using the GPS antenna? if so how accurate is it I'm planning on buying a set pretty soon and these look great
Highly accurate, Hugo! The GPS is within 1mph accurate. And it's fast. The GPS updates at rapid rate of 4-5htz per second--a rate so fast you wouldn't notice any delay when braking and accelerating hard.
Speedhut Custom Gauges 9
So antenna, what is best position at car? Can i just let it be inside near windshield?
Great question. You can place the GPS antenna anywhere except enclosed inside a metal box. Near the windshield works great.
Ok thank you
Pretty much anywhere works fine, including inside near your windshield.
Will this replace the VSS? vehicle will still shift properly?
We offer both VSS and GPS speedometers.
will it damage the speedo if it gets buried? I'm looking to get one of your smaller ones that is 2 5/8" (thats the only one that will fit) I was looking at your 120mph one. Does it have a signal wire that I can use as a speed reference for my ecu in my race car?

Is this works even the car has no ECU??
Will this work for a custom harley?
Certainly. Our gauges are built to perform in any vehicle found on roads, terrain, dragstrips and racetracks.
What does the gps signal off of? can it loose connection?
GPS signal comes from the gps satellites that are in space . there is no subscription fees or anything needed. The signal is free for all to use
Not really what I was asking, what I was wondering was can it loose connection (to the satellites) and stop working (or not even work) in some areas of the world?
Daniel, you'll never lose signal unless you trap the GPS antenna in a metal box or go through an underground tunnel.
Alright I'm sold A+
How do you not have links in the info? Great stuff though'
+ownTer . www.speedhut.com is our website. also feel free to give us a call 801-221-1460.
The gauges are all lifetime warranty and are made at our shop here locally. We stand behind our products and what you to be happy with your purchase.
Sure, but add some links guys.
We're in the process of polishing our vids, so thanks for the feedback ownTer!
what happens when you go through a tunnel?
Paul, there is a chance being in a tunnel may interfere with the GPS unit, however once you're out of that tunnel - it'll continue to work flawlessly for you.
can you put it on bikes or a gravity soapbox im making
Certainly.
How reliable is this?
What's the percentage of signal loss?
Extremely reliable. Our GPS Speedometer is commonly used in performance cars with it's fast updating rate at 4-5htz per second. you have this in KM?
yes we do
The Speedometer is within a mph. Very accurate and NO delay
What about using this in a boat?
Leo Lipert We have lots of guys use our GPS speedometers on boats.
Yes, Leo. Our gauges are built to perform for any vehicle, be it land or sea.
What happens when you loose GPS signal ?
The speedo will drop to zero and then immediately start working as soon as the signal is acquired. This will only happen in tunnels and parking garages. Weather does not effect the GPS speedo.
could i just hook it up to a battery circit
How accurate

What do you do when entering a tunnel? Everybody knows that there's no gps signal in the tunnel...
What if it rains heavily
Good question. Our gauges are water resistant, but upon request we can add a free "silicone sealant" to the bezel to waterproof it even more.
How accurate is this
Does nobody else notice that acquire is spelled incorrectly on the GPS Speedometer?
We have fixed this spelling several years ago. The video is an older video that shows the incorrect spelling. Rest assured , all gauges shipped have the correct spelling :)
ive just gome on your website....... its too expensive for me!
Our gauges will work on all different types of vehicles from cars, motorcycles, boats, ect. They just require a 12v power source to operate.
How
Did anyone else notice that the word acquiring is spelled "Aquiring" on the speedo? That would bug the shit out of me.
mhz? anyway nice speedo much more correct than many of typical stock speedometer .
Our speedometer is within 1 mph accurate. They are very accurate
h
Instead of being a regular screen, it is a hand!
I live in Australia, so I would need something with Kilometers instead of Miles.
We offer plenty of km/h GPS speedometers, too
These are still laggy!
*****
If its that quick then no problems at all, might be the signal to motor lag, not satellite to gps receiver!
Farcry, our GPS Speedo updates at 4-5htz per second. At that rate, it's nearly impossible to notice any delay.
