Man thank you so much, I never thought my copra has a built in radio check meter I finally have less stress about the cb tune, I finally fix it thank you again sir
Back in my day a SWR meter, on my radio shack cb with dual hustler antenna’s and each antenna adjusted separately. Thing’s apparently changed for the better
Awesome clip, helped me tune mine, I never had one and there's one in the truck I use, and I didn't know how to calibrate it, and didn't know to turn the knob on the squelch
Thats a standard 4 watt radio, i just got mine peaked to 20 watts and its getting about 4 miles with a 15000 watt antenna, you helped me with the calibration and thanks. Safe travels.
Hyped Gamer Network no unfortunately, idk if I’ll ever get back behind the wheel either. Loved it, great memories, but I need more money. I’ve bounced around from trucking to pipeline life so I’ll be posting videos on that stuff.
That function is to Calibrate your antennas for swr, although it is recommended that you us a external swr meter as the internal Cobra one isn't as accurate.
Its there to let you know if your antenna needs to be tuned to the radio, and depending on the antenna, if your swr is more than 1.5 you would adjust the antenna accordingly to bring those numbers down, magnetic mount, you would slide the whip up or down depending on were your swr is on ch 1 and ch 40, fire stick type antenna, pull the rubber tip off and adjust the tuning screw. Nothing about the internal or external swr meter solves a high swr reading, it just lets you know the antenna is out of tune.
Did you figure out what was causing the warning? I just purchased and installed my 29 LX yesterday, Thanksgiving day 2023. Ordered the 102" whip and now wondering if I'll have a similar issue.. 😬
I just got a cb. Trying to figure out how to set up my antenna. It keeps saying antenna warning. I watched you video on that but I haven’t done anything to my antenna yet.
I may make a video on the antenna part but most antennas come ready and already calibrated. It may be your CB. I made a video on the “antenna warning” so watch that and give that a try, if it doesn’t work you may need to re-calibrate your antenna
I had the same problem. Sitting on i80 in Wyoming currently just waiting out this wind and snow storm and trying to get my cb finally working and I've had no luck. Do I need antennas to recieve still or can it recieve without
Thank you..might need to mention we are suppose to be in an open area so you have good range. Don’t try to calibrate in front of buildings, forest trees or other trucks. Have open space in front of you 👍🏽
Just got mine yesterday just like yours 2 questions after I calibrate do I leave it on the same channel and how do you turn it off without unplugging it
Darrick Meadows depends on what channel you want to run for local areas. But most run on 19. And the off button should be the volume button. Just turn it down until it clicks
@@truckertavis yeah I just un did it and tossed it up there ..legit said that on my Wilson box lol and of course used the swr meter box 📦 I did how ever order a new tuned lx with sound box ,echo board n what not
Respect to you for making a video trying to help others. The slight problem is, your instructions are hard to understand. Technically speaking, you don't 'calibrate' the radio, you have to calibrate your antenna system. To check the SWR reading, you 'set' the meter/display so that it the needle or bars sit exactly on the set mark, then switch to 'swr' to read how much of the transmitted waves are being reflected back down the coax from your antenna, into the back of your radio. The antenna has to be adjusted so that it matches the length of the radio waves you are trying to transmit.
No worries mate, and keep making video's ! If you are interested, I help run one of the largest CB & Ham radio groups in the world, have a look sometimes there is a lot of good information on there - charlietango.co.uk
Finally someone that actually shows how to tune it in correct appreciate it man over and out
Appreciate you driver stay safe out there!
Thanks for the video. Helped to fix the radio in my new to me truck.
Man thank you so much, I never thought my copra has a built in radio check meter I finally have less stress about the cb tune, I finally fix it thank you again sir
Awesome. Always keep radio on. Seen so many wrecks in winter time. God bless you and all truckers

Glad it helped! Drive safe, keep the shiny side up!
Thanks bro now you can hear me from coast to coast 😎
Man that helped a lot! Appreciate you so much! Keep the Rubber Side Down, Shiny Side Up
Glad it helped! You as well driver!!

Tavis Sayler will do till i can afford a 10 meter, u still driving?

How do you adjust the RF if needed? Mine is a little over 1. Thanks
That's good cb u have there mine is cobra 29 classic
Love this radio. I’ll never get rid of it👌🏻

How do you adjust the bottom if it’s over one?
Thanks man I appreciate you going to go ahead and make my own video calibrate my CB be safe driver
Jason Stewart you’re welcome glad it can be of some help. Love my CB. Stay safe out there!
Love your hands ✋
Hey I have cobra 29 lx I can't get it to work property
It's showing antenna warning

@jasonweir8147 Hey, happy belated Thanksgiving
No, I never did. I'm going to replace the antenna to see of that's the cause or not
@@truckerjogi okay, good to know
@@jasonweir8147 let me know how your turns out

Not sure the issue but nothing happens when I key up and turn the swr/cal dial.
People can still here me clearly though if I speak on 19.

Holy fuck thank you so damn much!!!
Tried doing this and my signal won’t even show up ..new coax cable by Wilson and also a new antenna (Wilson 5k )
Your antenna may need calibrated
@@truckertavis thanks and yeah bought a meter ..coax was also coiled didn’t think that would be a no no but guess it was lol
@@gustavomendoza6028 awesome! And YES! Should have mentioned that! No coils. You want it as straight as possible. Makes it a pain sometimes lol

Which antenna you got?
SoCal Panda 82 can’t remember I don’t drive anymore :( I think it was a fire stick. That’s what I put on my Subaru
What if I get a Antenna warning
I made a video about that as well
I'd use a meter to calibrate a cb. and use the cb to check it every now and then.
Chase Smith idk if I’d use a meter for a CB. Maybe to tune an antenna.

Didn’t work for me 🤷🏼♂️
