I was born in the 70's and don't give a fuck about old/new school. This album is awesome. Dark and fast.
I am also Gen X, and these guys and From Ashes Rise are a couple of contemporary bands which have power and distinction while absolutely charging me with the sense of vitality in 80s HC. Good stuff 🤘
neocrust is the true successor to hc punk from the 80's along with powerviolence.
born in 77, i co sign your statement.
it is/sounds genuine. that is all that matters.
right on ,we dont give a fuck about yall either. claiiming authority over punk by virtue of prior birth...embarasing.
dfig the tunes and shit the fuck up old one
So old u fart dust
noise but clean, raw & technical, aggressive & melodical.. this album has everything good in it in right quantity. 10/10
This isnt noise
Listen to hanatarash
nailed it.
agree
Happy Rushmore. This is music. Real energy and without a doubt sounds like the music of a classic video game bit like Contra or Doom...Even Wolfenstein...was there...👏
Glory days of Portland. Saw and played house shows with Tragedy from 2005-2013, best punk scene on planet earth back then.
Scene dead?
@@777gallen shoot up or shut up
I grew up in Ventura, CA and these guys played all the time there, too! We had tons of local bands, and shows were usually 5 bucks...amazing times 💔 I miss being 16 and rocking my crust punk lifestyle. It's hard in the gutter, but a crazy fun adventure, too!
@@777gallen Not at all, but it was huge back then. Shows every night of the week sometimes. Rent was cheap, there were punk houses everywhere.
This is pure angst and ridden with the essence of dangerous vibes. Its a war cry about all that is the end of control and abuse. It's about retaliation and redemption.
Yes!!!!!
This has been a go to in the gym for me for yearssss. My old thrash/grindcore band played a show with these dudes and it was seriously one of the best nights of my life
One of the greatest Crust bands of all time, their discography is flawless.
Yeah, after years of years listening to all kinds of music, this is one of the best albums, ever
if you want to survive an apocalypse, you need all of their albums.
Why survive
Very appropriate comment.
@@blackspring3207 soundtrack to the Road Warrior future.
i'd rather prevent the apocalypse by destroying the state
Maybe a sprinkling of from ashes rise as well
I heard this Tragedy record for the first time before about 12 years and still with the same joy. For me it is and remains the best crust punk album next to some records from Consume, Disfear and Martyrdöd, Behind Enemy Lines. A great band.
3 songs in and I'm already calling this a classic. Love how varied the songs are.
This album changed my life. Then I discovered this band was living in my city.
@@yugen and then what happened?
This is one amazing album. If I could tattoo an album in my brain for everyone to read after my body rots in a swamp it would be this. Mighty.
A tattoo in the brain... that don't seen very fun :D.
@Nate Buker Your hypothetical can become reality with enough PCP tbqh
Wait...so brains don't rot with the rest of us ?
Sending this to space on the next rocket
So melodic

the more apocalyptic and sincere album that has given the hardcore punk
There is something fascinating in those songs...
righteous anger and an unending fighting spirit
They create a dark atmosphere in these songs.
Pounding and also crashing. Bashing and yes, smashing. Melodic and destroying too.
or maybe the metallic production
Proper mint anorl
this will never cease to be one of the greatest fusions of genres and one of the most crushing albums i've ever experienced. 11/10, i AM devastated.
This is fucking incredible
still sounds fresh after all these years! \m/
Living in Poland i'm sure it feels especially fresh now
@@yugen it is not bad, but definatelly its not good either. We are doing what we can to support Ukrainian refugees from the goodness of our hearts (and wallets). Hope the government will help those people soon. Fuck putin, nazi scum!
This is one QUALITY album!!!
absolutely amazing album cover ! seriously one of my fav joys of loving punk rock music is getting too see the amazing images bands chose for their album covers
Best crust album that ever was released.
Just finished the Void lp , saw this up next and figured I’d give it a listen. What an awesome find. Heavy as hell but still melodic. I don’t even know how you do that successfully, but these guys have it down .
Just incase you don't find it yourself, the band that this came out of is his hero is gone. Before that it was copout.
@@mywifeisgoingtokillme9318 Copout? Never heard them before. I'm checking em out now. From ashes Rise is dope too.
Playing on repeat for 2 days, I'm really stuck on this album RN. Brings back a lot of memories of going to shows as a teen. I was really lucky to see them live several times ❤
I wish His Hero is Gone and Bolt Thrower had toured together.
His bolt is thrown
I saw his hero is gone in south Florida back in the lateish 90s if I'm not mistaken. Can't remember with who though. I even remember the venue but I can't remember who they played with. I wanna say Assück but I could be confused by another show same venue around the same time. Same with Dystopia, I know I saw them but I couldn't tell you where. Maybe NYC, maybe Minneapolis, maybe Eugene? So many shows so many years, so many cities sometimes it blurs together I guess. Maybe I'm getting old.
Hellshock and BOlt Thrower played a show together.
Monuments to Mercinaries tour?
Bloody marvellous. Got everything ....
I really like their sound. It's like a mix of D-Beat and Doom Metal.
Check out Nightfell…very good blackened death/doom from one of the singers…the other singer is in very good punk band Criminal Damage, also worth checking out
@@goskateboarding1412 yeah, Criminal Damage rips, Oi!
This style is called neocrust.
would probably say old school metalcore, reminds me a lot of integrity
@@coldnessinmyheart. neocrust everything has a label these days. fucking awesome album I'd just say
i got this on cassette at one of there first shows when i was like 15 and listening to lots of decendants, needless to say it changed my fucking life.
so now you're 17 and you still need that nose job
2sacks1 *laughter*
+adrian barker such an insightful story
This guy is so Punk. Hella punk. So punk he has to tell people about it on UA-cam. That's PUNK AS FUCK.
Fuck!! GUN CONTROL!!!!!!!!!1
this album has torn a seam in the fabric of life to expose the innards, i dont know what that means but this album is wow!!!
I remember when I got this LP in 2003. I was completely moved. It was so powerful and spoke to me so directly.
Just feel the gravity and the depth here
i love this album
I love you.

You guys are fucking amazing
The bass guitar sounds is awesome
Billy shreds
Entombed
Quite possibly the best punk record ever written.
This is not punk music bro,if u want to listen to punk, listen to bands like The Ramones,Sex Pistols,The Clash,The Damned, now that's punk,u kids just crack me up..lol
@dalegriffin6768 punk is a big genre. This is neo crust which is an offshoot of crust which is an offshoot of hardcore/punk.
It is punk, just different than that kind of punk.
@@chriskovarik9186 I got u,I love this band by the way,,it's a TRADGEDY that more bands are not this good 👍
They do remind me of WOLF BRIGADE

Human civilization is a tragedy. Can we call this life?
it's just an existence. real life can be found in remote areas with best intellectual intentions to that areas. somefew should build communities there to bypass upcoming human downfall. imo
Not even grammatical.
Haha, nice...
Of course, you laugh at man's decline and write songs about it. That's life to me
My life is great.
Brilliant... mesmerizing..
Hey guys! I just like your music, the riffs are really heavy!! As a musician, I understand the effort it takes to achieve such sound. Keep up the good work 👍
thank you buddy, they are amazing
I bet the moshpits are out of hand at these guys' shows. More than halfway through right now and I like every song I've heard
Não existe nada melhor que isto.
One of the best records of all time!
Saw them live some weeks ago, still great! Few of these song on the setlist.
Best crust album ever released
Agreed
A CALL TO ARMS IS THE BE ALL END ALL, AS WELL AS THE REST OF THIS ALBUM!!!!!
Awesome album, awesome sound.
Back in the day, I was friends with this guy who loved punk rock but parroted the "fact" that punk rock died in the 80s, and only listened to old bands that get praised by Rolling Stone and Spin. He hated Tragedy and said the vocals were "death metal growling." WHAT? Punk/hc fans who can only get into clean vocals are the worst.
We're all the worst to someone. Stop crying and let people be.
Juan Gil True. Was in an annoyed ranty mood when I posted that.
ugh hahaha. his utter loss, feel bad for the guy
Moshing a little slower to this 20 years later.

this album is so fucking good wtf
How am I just hearing this?
Shame on me. Never gave them the recognition they obviously deserve. What a fuckin' monster of an album.
Beautiful!
when i die, give my corpse headphones with this playing. 50/50 i get right back up.
Excellent..
This is their best album. Stands head and shoulders over any other crust album out there unless I'm missing some really good stuff.
fresh..has a GBH and neurosis feel to it..and a bit of scandinavian death'n roll

@Winston Wolf YAS BITCH
Tattooed on my back for a reason in 2006. Now, fourteen years later it has flowered.
Can I have the lyrics for THE LURE man
Very good! I need to check the lyrics, but I like this "melodic" crust line (as Wolfbrigade do!)
MASSIVE INFLUENCE ON OUR BAND .......................AND MUSIC
The punks around me Listin to this album I'm starting to fall in love with it TRAGEDY for life
@Winston Wolf he is right.. you should also stop breathing.. white supremacist used to use oxygen from atmosphere so therefore oxygen is a white supremacist..
ps jokes aside.. a lot of NPCs are involved into punk these days its getting ridiculous
@the eye of every storm how is that disinfo
@the eye of every storm Your ignorance doesn't dupe reality kid.
Punks? lol your joking. Punks are extinct now you mean fashion victims
thx Zack!

beautiful album
Neocrust is so good damn
the day after and beginning of the end just fucking ripps
killer stuff..killer melodies
You’re welcome. Have a good day sir.
I hear many HHIG riffs in this album.. very cool
the riff at 2:53 reminds me of phantom of the opera theme
meh absolutely, how did they not hear that! How very odd
lol I thought I was the only one who heard it!
@@khalnetherfields7263 it's not odd. maybe they did hear it and didn't give a fuck. intellectual property is bullshit. there's only a few ideas since the beginning of time and all we see and hear are just variations on a few themes. get over it.
"echoes" by Pink Floyd. IIRC Floyd actually sued The Phantom creators over that riff.
Entrenando con Tragedy pure love
38.50 minutes of terror
this is fucking sick
Will they recognize our self-abuse as a product of the abusive hands that molded our lives?
Thats fkn poetry m'y friend
remind me to listen old school swedish punx such as ANTI CIMEX, CRUDE SS BREDROVLERS, and lots of band from 80´s. Tragedy is so good to listen.
Don Peron I'm old swede. cant agree on.that one. This is waaay better than any of those old bands. Maybe some more recent Disfear though
Am I the only one getting a tiny black metal vibe here? Great work!!
all, you should listen His Hero Is Gone first.
so sick!
Never sad about having the tragedy bird as my first tattoo almost 20 years ago
Killer stuff
Ah! Thanks
one of the few d-beat(ish) bands i still rate, their Criminal Damage side project is the mutts nuts
Fucking cant stop listening to this. Ultimate neo crust album. Absolutely amazing from start to finish.
if so, nerve damage will do the same
I have this on vinyl, great album
Back when i lived in Seattle, there was a record store called Zions Gate that had a few copies of their first album (my personal favorite) but I haven't seen this one anywhere
I think their albums are pretty readily available - I have them all - I think I got this one on discogs, but the rest were either in stores or direct from them. Such an incredible band!
