Rudimentary Peni - Pope Adrian 37th Psychristiatric [1995]

- This is a concept album by the band Rudimentary Peni. The majority of it was written while lead singer/guitarist Nick Blinko was being detained in a psychiatric hospital under Section 3 of the 1983 Mental Health Act. The subject matter of the album relates to the delusions Blinko was experiencing at the time, particularly the idea that he was "Pope Adrian 37th" - a reference to Pope Adrian IV.
Adding to the album's unique sound, the pseudo-latinized phrase "Papas Adrianus" (Pope Adrian) is looped and can be heard in the background through the entire album.
Blinko provided the artwork for the album.
Recorded: Southern Studios, 1992
Released: September 5, 1995
Genre: Anarcho-punk / Deathrock
Label: Outer Himalayan

@@ButtSnorkler9000 yeah, some people think it's cool to tell people how depressed they are.
@bigcheese212 quit fishing for attention and go to a therapist and/or psychiatrist, dwelling on how isolated you are is lame

@@bigcheese2128How ya feelin these days?
Sounds weird but I used to have huge anxiety attacks in the street... and RP was the only music I could listen and would call me down.
If you are losing your mind this isn’t helping you find it.
That’s ok
Fucking Brilliant 🔥❤️
😂
I can’t put into words how much I love this album
Here we are again :)
I'm still listening now
I love how fucking strange and unique this album is
Perfect for those late nights when all my friends climb outta their graves and come over for smores and absinthe. And yeah the dead don't dance but they mosh like Popes on acid. If you clamp yer headphones on real tight and turn up the volume to maximum it's exactly like electro-shock therapy (just be sure you ain't blowin' yer buddy then unless like me ya like the taste of bloody semen, or as the French say, jism sanquine, a "frank"ophile's cuisine---wiener du jour).
suffering mental illness myself ????i can relate to al nick blinkos works, recordings artwork?just awesome and great on so many levels???????????????????????????????????.......

Good as it is, instead of the 12 tracks, I wish this album was just 43.08 minutes of continuous Pogo Pope

HAVING TO PAY TO DIE IS A SCAM.
Spot on!
Can't do much better my friends
When people say “Rudimentary Peni is a ‘death rock’ band,” I used to come back with a bunch of information about how that isn’t true. I pointed out the anarcho punk background and political involvement of RP, the actual definition of ‘death rock’ as an American movement, the fact that lyrics about mental illness have been part of punk since 1976. Etc. Of course, nobody listened, and only came back with “lol Lovecraft and reverb tho!” So now I’m just going to yell POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE POGO POPE

No matter how you slice it, it's still baloney.
