I love this! Great job. Every time I get glitter from Zindee it is everywhere as well. You’re not alone. I’m not sure why but no other company I purchase from has as much glitter “leak” as Zindee’s does.
It’s because they pack the bottles so full! I put unused back in and it doesn’t even look like I used any. Now they use bags and sell the empty bottles. Once you fill the bottle yourself there is SO much still in the bag! 😊
Nikki Locke I haven’t bought since they switched to bags! I’m definitely not complaining about the amount of glitter that’s for sure! 😜 their colors are soooo pretty too!
Emily VanDyke I love their colors, they’re amazing! The bags are sealed well, packed full, and come with a little spoon to scoop with. I’m definitely not complaining about extra glitter either. I love there is so much of it. 😊
Great. Better than that toxic epoxy. I'm scared of that stuff. My tumbler making buddy fell ill even with using her respirator. Docs told her she had epoxy related illness. I will try this just for fun with summer campers😁
Do you sand the side with just the vinyl first then put vinyl on then bright tone? Let the bright tone dry, sand, reapply bright tone, dry, sand, reapply bright tone. For the love of everything crafty I cannot find written directions. I’ve watched multiple videos and can’t tell exactly when to sand! Thank you! Great video!
Came out so beautiful and cool ! After you apply the vinyl do I need all those coats? Can I do one or two ! I just want it for the material to last longer .
You can use bt in bezels, but it takes some layers to get it level. It gives a nice concave look as opposed to doming because I the evaporation. Hope you try some soon if you haven't already, going through your videos now
I did try some! I think it can be done. I miexed in glitter and dropped it into the bezel - then added a little bit more on top because it does sort of fall in lol I would give it extra extra cure time though!
@@AlisonCrafts absolutely. If you work with open back bezels, I definitely suggest extra cure time. I've had the base layer stick to the adhesive backing when removing it 😅
Hi ,new to cricut and new subscriber.I’ve watched a bunch of your videos on using brite tone and you’ve convinced me this is the way to got for some acrylic key chains I want to do. But I think I want to put my vinyl on first ( mirror it so it looks backward when its on) then add glitter etc etc.that way my vinyl is buried under the glitter sealed. It’ll show properly on the other side with the glitter on the background .Do I need to do anything different than the steps you show here in terms of the order ?( with the exception adding my vinyl first on the same side as the glitter )
I’m having a problem with my glitter not looking like glitter anymore after the 4th coat of Grand Finale/light sanding. Do you have any suggestions? It looks more like paint with no glitter/sparkle showing. I’m using Zindee glitter. Thanks!
This is very cool. I feel like I'm doing something wrong though. When I tried this, the brite tone basically melted the glitter. It looked less like glitter and more like paint.
I know this video is older - I’m just discovering Alison’s tutorials and I’d love to try Crystalac on a project like this. ***Can anyone help answer if Grande Finale could be used in the same way as in this video, instead of Brite Tone? Thanks!!
Hi Alison!! Love your videos! Question instead of using Brite tone can you use glitter glue instead. If so do you use that then use bright tone after the glitter is on and nthe other coats are needed
How much do you sell these for? It seems like a lot of work, I’ve been thinking about giving brute tone a try on tumblers but I think blanks will be a better starting off.
Think I will do the same!! Doesn’t seem like allot of work but definitely seems like allot of time! Like damn I can sell one cup a week with the time you have to wait in between for each layer lol
@@wendyhayes240 oh no I'm so sorry to hesr that. Ihave been meaning to make them for months but haven't had a chance. I'm thinking about using some spackle for the inside!
If you tape a popcicle stick to the back of it, it makes it way easier to glitter and work on :)
Thank you! I've been hesitant to start tumblers. This is a great way for me to start slowly.
I love your videos you have no idea how much you have helped me!
I'm so glad they help 💞💞
Me too shes so easy to understand!

I do sand to prep and after every 3-4 coats of brite tone. Here are some written instructions: craftingthegoodlife.com/blog/leopardflagkeychain

You can’t end on sanding, you need a few coats of GF after for it to shine back up
This is very cool. I feel like I'm doing something wrong though. When I tried this, the brite tone basically melted the glitter. It looked less like glitter and more like paint.
That sounds like you need a different glitter. what brand??
I've used Martha Stewart fine glitter, and Recollections chunky glitter. Melted everything. 4 coats later, and it never smoothed out either.
I’m having this same problem with my glitter and grand finale (Zindee glitter) any tips?
No matter how thin layers I add it will have macro bubbles. I tired blowing the bubbles but they are something can't get without it
Do you wear a mask when you sand after the 4th layer? If so do you recommend N95 or just a regular mask
Just a regular particle mask for sanding!
Could you mix the glitter into a small amount of beige tone and then apply?
If you do not want to use glitter, but vinyl on both sides, do you sand the acrylic at all?
I know this video is older - I’m just discovering Alison’s tutorials and I’d love to try Crystalac on a project like this. ***Can anyone help answer if Grande Finale could be used in the same way as in this video, instead of Brite Tone? Thanks!!
Yes! It’s the exact same process with Grande finale 🥰
@@AlisonCrafts Oh my gosh, thank you!!
Hi Alison!! Love your videos! Question instead of using Brite tone can you use glitter glue instead. If so do you use that then use bright tone after the glitter is on and nthe other coats are needed
Yes you can use glitter glue to apply your glitter and even do a coat to seal it on. then move to brite tone!
Can you use epoxy and brite tone? Like epoxy for the initial glitter, and brite tone to seal the vinyl for a final top coat?
You have to let the epoxy fully cure first and that can take 30 days so that's the recommended time to wait. I would probably just do one or the other
Helpful video! Did you sand the front side before applying vinyl?
yes! I always do a light sand!
Great video! What size jump rings do you use? Where did you get yours?
The heavy duty ones from hobby lobby or michaels are great. The keychain hardware usually comes with one but any extra for the charms I use 10 mm!
can i glue paper on to the acrylic blank with brite tone? Thank you for your tutorials!
Yes you can! Do you have glitter glue? I'd probably use that
What is the link for your rubbing alcohol dispenser?
amzn.to/3SRWvvD
Silly question, did you put your Bright Tone in the plastic container?
Yes!
Do you get a file for the blanks so the vinyl fits perfect ?
You don’t spray with e6000 at any point like tumblers?
you can if you want!
Hello @Alison Crafts : so this process keep everything intact? It doesnt peel off or anything? Thank you! 🥰
Not at all! It's still in perfect condition!
@Alison Crafts thank you for your response! I appreciate YOU! 👍🏼
you had a wine tumbler on the top left and i love that color!! what is it and where is it from?
ooooh that's rustoleum sliver lilac spray paint and the glitter is lilac and lace from sass and crafts!! highly recommend!!
Alison omg I ordered that glitter and got the paint. I’m in love 😍😍😍
I think I missed something. Why are you doing so many layers of the brite tone on the vinyl side if there is no glitter? The vinyl is already smooth.
Can you use the same method for badge reels?
yes!
That font is so cute! Where’s it from? 😍😍
It's called Farmhouse Lemonade!
Would the glitter glue be better?
You can use the glitter glue for sure! I prefer to use BT to add the glitter and seal with glitter glue :)
How do you get rid of micro bubbles? They are on every layer.
You are most likely putting it on way too thick. Do thinner coats but you can take a straw and blow them out
Do I need to seal the vinyl before applying Brite tone?
Nope
How did you have that exact shape for your vinyl cutter (cricut)?
When you buy the blank from zindee you get an svg file!
@@AlisonCrafts hi! Why is my Brite Tone beading up on my vinyl? How can I get it to adhere?
Wait you wet applied vinyl? What type of vinyl?
yep! Permanent vinyl! Here is a more detailed tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/XjySz5mzyRg/v-deo.html
Where did you get the bottle that you put your brite tone in?
You can get a 2 pack at the Dollar Store or I see them in the cake making aisle at stores.
Do you simply pour the Brite tone into the mold?
This is an acrylic blank :)
Where did you get the chevron vinyl from?
Expressions Vinyl!
Isn’t polyurethane basically the same?
The store bought stuff is really low quality. It has low solids so it's not a very strong finish and yellows over time!
Can you mix bt with the glitter?
You can but i dont recommend it
Do you use the decal wet method with cups, too?
I do!
@@AlisonCrafts awesome! I'm gonna try this
Can i ise brite tone to seal the paint on the acrylic?
yes
How were you able to create the same shape as the blank for the vinyl. Also, what font did you use? Tfs!
This blank is from zindee and it comes with the cut file 😊 the font is farmhouse lemonade!
@@AlisonCrafts Nice! Thank you!
How do you get the name showing the glitter as the outline (the offset) cut out for the actual name to go inside?
@@ashleybryant675 I create the offset in silhouette studio. And then it cuts the outline. Do you have a silhouette or cricut?
Is this heat resistant?
heat resistant up to 350 degrees
Have you done britetone on a phone grip?
yep! it works great! ua-cam.com/video/j4KvsYt1uJk/v-deo.html
Do you think I can apply brite tone without sanding? 🤦♀️ I applied the vinyl.... and forgot to sand the acrylic
Is there any way to sand round the edges of the vinyl? You can try but in my experience you need to sand first.
Hwve you ever made mini Starbucks drink keychains and how using crystalac.
Like the cup keychain where you fill the inside or an Acrylic keychain?
@@AlisonCrafts yes! I think they are cute but I need a safe way to make them. Iam a cancer patience and just looking for safe products to use.
