Lyrics:
I was made way back in 1842
The Torah crafted - by a righteous Jew
My story is no secret - it’s a legend now well known
How I lost my purpose - when I lost my home
But these past years I’ve once more come alive
In a shul where Torah and Tefilla thrive
Three days a week I’m on display - my words are read out loud
Which fills my heart with joy and makes me proud
But now again I cry out in despair
What happened to the precious sounds of prayer
Where are the lively sessions - of vibrant Torah sparks
I wonder from the silence and the dark
How I miss the Rabbi holding me so tight
And Lecha Dodi’s refrain on Friday Night
I so hope to hear those voices - yearning for Hashem
And that they miss me - as much as I miss them
We know Hashem your judgement’s always fair
And a Yid can speak to You from anywhere
But my heart is aching - for their Tefila and their Song
Please return them to the place where they belong
From deep within we beg the One Above
Protect from harm the children that You love
So that they may stand side by side - and turn their hearts to You
K’ish Echad - their faith and hope renewed
So that they may stand side by side - for all eternity
B’leiv Echad - in perfect unity
Sorry I didn't hear this during the lockdown. Really nice.
This didn’t make my eyes cry, but my נשמה was torn to shreds.
Can't stop crying. How I miss shul.
Richard Sieger I also miss shul, what about the bais hamikdash?
@@TheGavrielKay I would miss it if I ever saw it.
Richard Sieger Oy what a dark golus, even if we don’t see, we yearn for a complete redemption. We didn’t see the har sinai when we left mitzraiim, yet we yearned, cried out and asked to end golus. Let’s do the same.
I challenge anyone to listen to this without shedding a tear! May Hakadosh Baruch answer our Tefillot expressed in this newly remastered song speedily in our days!
I failed the challenge.
Same

Thank You so much Abie and Baruch, this song was a big chizuk and may HKBH answer the tfillah of your beautiful song immediately!
Wow stunning
This song is heart wrenching. Especially when told from the point of view of the Torah itself. May we merit to fulfill its dictates.
Thank you. This is beautiful and sad.
Beautiful
Stunning and Sadly so True. Thank you so much Abie and Boruch. The Ribono Shel Olom should listen and hear and have Rachmonus on us.
Beautiful! Thank you Abie and Baruch!
Wow the sequel for our times, hashem have mercy on us and deliver us from this crisis and to the geulah bikarov!
Very beautiful song, God has given you the talent of singing and composing, Like He did to King David, and Moshe.
So touched! Had tears in my eyes, may it be quickly Mekuyam!
Wow!! So beautiful!
My father is a baal tefillah and always uses this tune for חסל סידור פסח at the seder. Sent it to him as soon as I heard what it was
What a message - stops you in your tracks! Thank you for sharing!
So touching
Just heard this for the very first time. Thanks. If you could send Rabbi Dovi Keilson a special thanks. I'm shore he will say that it wasn't his doing. We just need to remind him who planted to seed. And really thank everybody who was involved.
beautiful!! and heart wrenching.
now for an epilogue to the Kotel song ( "I am an ancient wall of stone....") we can use that message now more than ever!
Thank you so much for creating this and posting it. I have listened to it several times and each time have tears streaming down my face. May Hashem return us to our mikdashei m'at and to the Beis HaMikdash itself b'mheyra b'yameinu.
Beautiful song , thank you both
And we will be soon back together in shul
Cant wait to hug the torah again
meirk26 back to the bais hamikdash
Amen!
Thanks to you both for this- it is so truly, truly beautiful and expresses all our yearnings now and hope to be back in shul again.
I'm not crying 😭, you're crying
תודה רבה לדוד שלי הרב בנימין מושקוביץ מברוקלין שאמר לי להקשיב לשיר הזה תודה דוד בנג'י
Thank you so much for writing this! I grew listening to Abie and there is so much meaning in each song and they are so powerful.
So touching!!
Beautiful!
Wow
Amazing. Great job on the new lyrics 🔥
Wow!!!!! so so special!!
Nice lit
The tune is Chasal Siddur Pesach from Lev N”nefesh Volume 1
HUGE Yasher Koach from a shul in Denver.
IMPORTANT: I was just listening to “it’s what I believe” on Apple Music and I think the lyrics got hacked. The lyrics are Muslim words and it’s about praising allah. I looked up the translations. The song is still the same but when u click on the lyrics, that’s what comes up.
Thank you so much for this beautiful song! I can't wait to share it with my family. We are all big Journeys fans and this song is so perfect for the current situation. My kids always want to understand the background and history behind the songs. Now they'll understand how each of your songs convey the true emotion behind the story.
I'm not religious anymore, but I still love abie he's a special talent..
Hope this song can give you the energy you need to find that energy inside you. If you want help and ideas on how to get closer to Hashem wherever you are holding . I've been there. I was lucky enough to catch myself as I was falling. And I know how hard it is to try to find your place. But I've helped so many the fined an easier way.
@@yitzchakenglard2514 I'm in the hospital I've been for 2and half months and still going to be here a while. Thank you for your offer.
@@proudamerican702 simchas Torah is this weekend. Give me your Jewish name with your mothers and we will pray for you to have a speedy recovery.
@@yitzchakenglard2514 menachem Ben devorah. Tysm. I believe it's bc of prayer that I'm still alive.
@@proudamerican702 I was going to write to you earlier. I just wanted to wait till the 2day Holliday ended. If you want to thank G-d for still being alive just take on something small. Like every time you eat something make a brucha. And if you really want to impress him make an after brucha. It might look easy but when your out of practice it's hard. And when you tell him thank you he looks for ways to help you even more. Keep in touch

No Eli Kranzler ?
Beautiful! However, I do want to emphasize that the Torah scrolls will be fine on their own for now... and now is the time for no minyanim, which in the Coronavirus pandemic, is the greatest act of chesed, the highest expression of love for our families, kehillot, neighbours, friends and fellow human beings. We'll appreciate reading and holding and dancing with our Sefrei Torah when this is passed. But for now, the Torah scrolls are on vacation.
Studies have proven that the lockdowns accomplished nothing for society's health, other than increasing depression, loneliness, tension, anxiety, etc.
Does anyone know who composed the melody? I saw it says "unknown"
original melody pre dates ww2 (was used for kol nidray prayer service on day of atonement)

Do you have a source for this?
💔😓🥺
Imagine sitting in Bavel after churban bais rishon, and nebuchanezer makes some edict or decree that restricts religious liberties. What is the pain? What do we need? Back to the status quo? What we need is an end to golus and the beginning of Moshiach. Yes we need minyanim, Shuls, kollels but the purpose of Torah is to fulfill its commandments. Most mitzvos cannot be fulfilled in golus. Think deeper ask and pray for what we really need.
Wow! What an amazing song! I really enjoyed that. I just made a piano cover of it!🎶🎹 I’d really appreciate it if you could Check it out!
Tell me what you think?
Great song, but I think you missed the boat. We shouldn't be crying out to return us to our shuls, but to return us to eretz yisrael with the coming of the geula. Our land is crying for us.
Hebrew Nazarite Torah remains Torah, yes of course. Would you want to fulfill the mitzvos in the Torah, most mitzvos cannot be performed because we live in golus. Would you like to say korbonos before davening or actually partake and bring a korbon (even a korbon Pesach)
Thats not missing the boat. Its another focus and also important. We shouldn't knock. Good shabbos
@@Geo98719 I think that attitude is _the_ problem. Most frum people are happy with their shul and beis medrash and their life as it is. This has become the ideal and they would be just happy if they could keep davening for the geula without having to worry about it actually happening..
@@simzacks8696 ok, point received. Nothing but respect. Stay safe, Chag sameiach
