- I told my parents I could FIX their DAMAGED and POTHOLED driveway and they were extremely SKEPTICAL! But I rented a Harley Rake for the weekend and TOTALLY TRANSFORMED their driveway! We also moved and spread almost 80 TONS of stone to resurface it as well! They were SHOCKED with the results!

Hello D as experienced operator of over 40 years, I’ve had to change and grow with the machines, jumping from one thing to the next is a small learning curve we keep going don’t sweat the haters are the jealous ones
Brother I've operated heavy equipment for 58 years. You never stop learning new things.
If you think that you know everything then you might as well be dead
Helping others is very important, like you did with the dog rescue organization. Thank you for helping your family! Every time they drive down the drive in bad weather they will think of you!
Good job. My dad always said if you don't learn something new everyday your not trying.
Taking the risk of starting your own business, learning skills that others find of value and are willing to pay for, and most of all being successful at it used to be called the American dream. Keep pressing.
Love your work ethic!
Delighted to hear you stand up to the haters. The veil of anonymity the internet provides give cowards the boldness to shout and belittle through their keyboard that they can't even think of doing with their voice. Good for you to stand strong! Getting time to use a piece of gear that you are still getting comfortable using is always time well spent. Great job. Oliver is just a bit of a the thing, but cuteness by the bucket load!! 😊
Small people have small minds
Good job and video Brother. I was taught that the best way to get good at something or get experience is to just do it or get in the equipment and do it.
Lol I think after this video, the go-pro has earned its hazard pay… lol
I fully agree with you "f##k those people..keep doing what you are doing.
Great content
That's right. You tell them. ON THE JOB TRAINING!! HANDS ON!!👍🏽
Looks to me like you know exactly what you're doing, especially in helping out your parents. Good job!
Right On
Right On
Right On, Davin!
Some people are so critical. I’m glad you do these videos despite the criticism.👍
Amen brother! You tell em! Keep doing what your doing sir n you’ll make something in life.
Exactly! The only way to learn an attachment is hook it up and go for it. For me the harley rake is one of the hardest attachments to learn. Looking good...😁
Good stuff! We can always learn more, and the best way is putting the bottom in the seat!
Davin I couldn’t agree more. Those critic’s can just “hose off”. I learn by doing. I can “read” about it all day, but don’t actually learn it until I have my hands on it. I think your doing a great job and kudos for having the ambition to run your own show! 💪
You are exactly right, screw the haters you do you. It's your time and your money. You try new things and strive to do good work. You work hard and constantly learning new things so screw them !! Love your channel buddy!!
Everyone is a expert sitting behind their phones buddy.
Your pride of workmanship really shows. You are a good son.
You are 100% correct. The only way to learn something new is to try it. Your first few times you'll screw it up but thats how you learn. Screw all the haters. They probably haven't even run a piece of equipment ever in their lives. Thanks for the great content.
You're a good son, and great work❗😎
Hands on is the best teacher! You are doing great!!
Loved this video. Years ago I used to run a Caterpillar D-9 Bulldozer, fitted with a huge blade, that was customized to push Coal. That was the best job I ever had
Right on Davin…. F those people hatters
First and foremost...I am a 70 year old man who has been running tractors since I was 8. You are rock solid on the way to learn how to use equipment sir. If you aren't running the machine but watching, there is simply no way to learn. You HAVE to sit behind the wheel. I have run things I had never seen before, and the only way to use them is - well - use them. Mistakes may happen (most assuredly will happen) but that is how we learn. It takes a bit to learn, but without doing it all you can do is wish in one hand...LOVE your videos. Makes me wish I was young again, so I could get some of the things you own and get out there and do it!
You are ALWAYS LEARNING on a daily basis. When one stops learning, one dies. The world is full of knowledge to learn & share.
Helpful/friendly tips welcome, troll comments are not welcomed or taken seriously.
Already have a leg up on me. I don't have a track loader. I use my Kubota tractor to grade driveways, mow or till gardens.
I would love a track loader & excavator to expand into heavier mow jobs or small land clearing.
Tell it like it is bro. Haters gonna hate.
You said that right because I'm a new operator at my job and I'm still learning but what all the senior operator said his need seat time just like you just. Lot of people run their mouth has never been in the set of one themself. I would like to say this to you I have learnt a lot from watching your videos so keep doing what you are doing.
Well you are right, using a machine like that is how you learn. Ignore the haters, listen to advice given and keep on getting that experience. It is very interesting to watch how that harley rake works! Never seen one before. Well, I was impressed! Course I don't do this kind of work, but looks good to me Watching you do the work I got a better understanding of what you were talking about and enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful job 😊 You most definitely learn by trial and error not by saying I cannot do it. You can do anything you set your mind to. Awesome 👌
"DO YOU HOMIE!" Great advice because there are a lot to people who are haters, for sure!
I don’t know if this means much to you or not, but you should really be proud of yourself. You are doing things and learning at the same time and that’s what life is all about. You’re never gonna make the right decision for somebody else’s views, but advice is always a good thing when it comes from the right sources and you have done it the way you should congratulations and you really did a nice job on this project like you say if they’re happy you’re happy and the job turns out great you’ve done what you needed to do and you did it. Hope you have a great day and I really like your dog super cool, pet and companion.
Well Done. I am sure your folks are going to appreciate your hard work, every time they drive on road. Thanks for sharing.
I have that same power rake. It works great on yards. I haven't used mine on a driveway, but I imagine it would do a great job for that too. It looks like Herc needs to do a better job on their maintenance.
Well put sir! I think it was Confucius who said “I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.” Sit in the machine and start running it!
Sir , you did a darn good job , lotsa people can do anything from a Tahoe with a cell phone, but you got off the front porch and made it happen, mom and dad will forever be happy 👍💯
Great job, excellent work, you got it figured out. Hands on is the only why to learn.
Decin, never worry or pay attention to the negitivity from some people whom are telling you , you have no idea what your doing. I Would like to see them try running things! You are never gonna leanr or grow your knowledge if you don;t try and you don;t run this, as you stated, so no worried Devin, your fine, it's those others that are speaking out of their ass, that should maybe stop watching and go to those PERFECT channels! You got this!
It is called
“ A learning curve “ !!!
self taught. 🙏👍🌻
How long is that drive? Know nothing, but to me, it looked like you are doing a great job with that Harley wake!👍👍
You are a great Son and I wanted to thank you for taking care of your Daddy and Momma.
Don’t let the negative people get to you! You have good instincts and you encourage others and you’re proficient at many things. I remember when Munchie was new and you were just learning. Now you can pluck ivy off a brick house without breaking a sweat! ❤
Keep on truckin, Dude! Don't let the bastards get you down. I enjoy your clips; well filmed and edited.
Never seen a Harley rake in action before. Very impressive!
You should try a ruckus rake The new and improved version though It has a angle adjustment from inside the cab much nicer
Your work is impressive. Awesome job! You learn and pickup on things very quickly! Your parents should be proud of you and the work you do!
Looks pretty good to me. Well done once again
Thanks for the video Idigit4 nicely done with the driveway fix really good 👍👍❤❤. Get in it and run it you betcha. Take care of yourself and family and be Blessed ❤️❤️.
Hi Oliver 😊 oh yea, great work, Davin. 😁
Keep learning because I think you are doing great. Love watching
Looks really good Nice work
You’re good at detail work, good job!
Hello dude 😎 l know your parents are very proud of you for fixing their driveway keep doing what you do a great job dude 😎
Good repair nice yard work 👏
Hi Davin, that was fun to watch, I've never seen anyone refinish a gravel driveway before. Really nice job!!! I finally got to see your little Ollie, he's so cute!! Thanks for the video. And I totally agree with you about the haters & know it alls! They can talk a flying - - - k. into the stratosphere for all l care. You're not afraid to tackle any job.
If you ever decide to buy 1 of those rakes it’d be nice to have hydraulic adjustments. This 1 has angle adjustment it’d be really nice if you could tilt it sideways a little bit. That thing certainly a learning curve.
Thank you for the video. Thank you Sir
Keyboard warriors are so epic.
Very interesting video. Are you from SC or NC?
Great job! That should fix the little ponds and potholes for your folks. Did all that back and forth make you dizzy? Looked like it could. Excellent work. I enjoyed watching the Harley rake. Never saw one before, and that was interesting. Oliver is such a cutie! He nailed his video debut! Stay safe and I’ll catch you on the next one. ❤️
You da man! OJT is the best way to learn.
I agree do you and screw the rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love your advice the only way to learn is dig in and get it done
Great work! And right on with your comment that you have to learn by doing - there is no other way, especially with tools and equipment.
You are right got have seat time. I just commented to myself how much you have improved using munchi from the first saw you using it. Keep up the good work. From Walkertown NC.
I totally love watching you do what you do,...I care for you as a person trying to help others. Your videos are interesting to me a disabled man not having any mechanical knowledge but watching you get things done...You Gotta Love What Your Doing Or It Would NOT Get Done!!!
Totally agree about trying new equipment. Yes get pointers from real experienced operators, but end of the day, real seat time teaches you how to operate the equipment, that’s it. Too many keyboard operators and too few real opertors
Your camera took a beating today.I agree with everything you said about wannabe complainer’s.did a great job on resurfacing the driveway,it did need it.your parents should be very happy with what you accomplished on the road.great video as always just keep doing what your doing and carry on.great video.kudos 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Just goes to show - those rakes make a huge difference along with the other equipment and your determination the end product looks like new and will do the job fine.
I agree, how are you to learn if you don’t do it. Practice makes perfect! Nice job❤
from what i see, your not bad at handling your equipment. i've been around HE operators working at a power plant for 40 yrs and i'm not an expert but you do great. wonder how those people got their drivers license.? sometimes you can tell your success because of the Nay Sayers, jealousy. you have alot of viewers so your doing something right. keep up showing us how to do things and teaching us . 👍👍👏👏
Yep best advice. Just get in it and run it. I've been shown how to run a piece of equipment maybe 10mins max and then it's my turn. And that 10min is mostly how to turn on/off the machine and how to go forward and backwards and that's it.
Way to put the butter on the bread son 😊 that’s the only way I can learn and you have taught me a lot !! ✌🏻😎
Thanks for what you do ! Thanks for sharing my friend 😊cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
I took classes on a lot of things yrs ago, but I learned a lot doing myself and hanging around old school knowledge. Don't worry about the keyboard commandos, most of them can't work a shovel, and 2nd: you need to put that tripod on workman's comp. 🤣
Tripod. HAHAHA
That's right the only way to learn is to do or OJT great job great video thanks Devon
I like your response if they where so friggn smart, lay out the cash and do it yourself. 🤬🤣🤣
Look at that old Tundra! Wow a 2nd Gen Tundra too!
Honestly man I am thinking about doing what you do and those are words of inspiration.
You and that tripod are doomed to hit lol 😂😂😂 great vid looks like you mastered that rake well haters can go do one you do a fantastic job love your warts and all vids we all started new at one time keep it up 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
There's only one thing to remember in life "Those who can DO those who can't write rude comments" 😮
You are so right. The more practice at driving any type of
machine, the better you get, I have been driving a forklift at work for 20 years, but some truck drivers think I can't handle when that happens. I stick up for myself, and boy they don't like it
I think you’re doing good brother, keep it up! I know this is probably done already but just saying Gavin! Thanks for sharing my friend, Kirk from Louisiana! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Always good family-duty !
Àwesome video Davin and I know that you are doing your best job that you can do😊
Seat time is the only way I learned. Great job !
Screw the negative commenters. Good for you, love the channel and video. Press on with pride.
Keep up the great work Mate
Hands-on is the only way to learn anything I agree, 100% Who cares what other people think there’s always someone out there that thanks they can do it better.
GREAT ADVISE. I really enjoy your videos. The more and more I watch, the more and more I want to start my own.
Yup per, it's just like OJT. The best way to lean is to use it until you have it sown pat! Nice job Devin, I'm sure your folks appreciate the effort and time you put in for them.
Amen and well said
Way to go my friend, tell it like it is. You learn by doing, and all these experts, well, they are just has beens, under pressure (Ex Spurts).
Dont say F the haters, man. Thank them instead for watching. Hating or not the truth is they are putting $ in your pocket buy watching. So their hate turns into cash. Got to love it.
I’m not a operator, I think your doing a great job !!!!!!
Consider keeping an XBoom QC Mate Quick Coupler Hand Clamp in the truck at all times. I've lost count of how many times it's saved me from lost time and frustration of coupling (and un-coupling) attachments by hand.
Good work. Finally got to watch the video. Also good for you for try and taking on new stuff.
Well I think that you do a great job. Yes you have to learn!!! Amen brother take those people with a grain of salt.
Good job.
Mike at Dirt Perfect has a lot of experience with what he has the Rukus Rake and he would probably give you some advice on it Gavin! Just saying it’s looking good just keep taking material from the sides of the driveway throwing it towards the middle and then spread it in the end so the crown isn’t too high brother! Hope everything goes well my friend! My thoughts are just cut the potholes out because you know they’ll come back!
Love the fire in this video. There will always be Couch Captains and Armchair Admirals ready to share the right way to do things. Which is somehow always not how you are doing it. But they're sitting in their chairs, poorly, eating cheese poofs and talking to a TV that cannot hear them. Meanwhile you were out there in the heat doing at least two jobs at once, doing the work and making the video. If these goofballs at home are so smart, go get a job doing this. Go by your local Sunbelt or United and rent some equipment and make a video. The way we learn something is by first finding out what we didn't know. Watch Captain Kleeman for a great example of how to face what you do not know, not panic or rage or cower in fear, but just go learn.
Don’t worry about the negative comments. I would like to see some of them with your brush chipper and see them keep up. The thing I learned with rake is to dig out those potholes. Just smoothing them out looks nice but the stone won’t stay in if you don’t take the pothole completely out. Every rake you rent is broken. I have had to wait a day while the genuses at the rental yard try to fix it.
