You know I have this theory about Saturn being Garling's grandfather. With Dr. Kureha being Saturn's daughter and Garling's mother, explaining her longevity and knowledge of the D... and her distinctive nose obviously. If Shanks is Garling's kid and Saturn is Bonney's biological father, that would make Bonney Shanks' great aunt in this scenario.

If you do end up being correct, Bonney has the extra plus of matching the patterns of the second crewmate in each part of the world being a girl and having a tragic backstory specifically involving the extreme tragic deaths of their moms in some way (Bellemere, Olvia, and and in this case Ginny)

It’s like when you look deeper you’ll see that the first crewmates are usually feared or infamous individuals that had trouble trusting luffy initially that lost someone important to them that later influenced major aspects of their life, the second crewmates are woman who aren’t really true crewmates initially but end up joining Luffy fully after he does something that changes them that also have backstories about the tragic deaths of their moms specifically, the third crewmates are very creative and passionate individuals that also have an influential figure that’s past in their life that later on went on to be leaders of some kind of gang, and the fourth and final crewmates are usually perverted individuals that have more going on in their lives then they initially would let on that have a quality of life passion they do

that was because luffy was being a complete airhead and was getting her name wrong right after she was being serious and telling her sad backstory to the crew. luffy even realized that and made sure to get her name correct after that every time lol

I was always on board for Bonney joining just based off the parallel that Dragon took in Kuma, and Luffy his son will take in his daughter. For what Kuma had done for Luffy and the crew he'd feel the need to want to repay Kuma by providing refuge for her in the crew. Bonney and Luffy have way too many parallels to simply ignore. Both Bonney and Luffy have similar-ish personalities and strong wills as well as both of them being gluttons. Both are supernovas. Both have Revo parents. Both have ties to Nika. Both grew up as practically foster kids (Kuma being absent a large portion and Garp coming around once a full moon).

Allowing for haki blooms and further devil fruit mastery as well as silly shenanigans. I could totally see Bonney and Luffy beefing 24/7 and then IMMEDIATELY settling their differences the moment food is involved.
I've always wondered why Luffy was the one who was given the moniker when 2 legendary pirates before him wore it. Considering his new bounty poster(iconic all white that Bonney even brings up when they meet on Egghead proper) mixed with his proper title as Yonko being given after Wano and not as "the 5th Emperor". Now it makes sense, they all made a name for themselves AFTER giving up the hat. Everything they do after giving up the hat dwarves what comes before. This event at Egghead will solidify that because it will be the new bounty poster Luffy that gets continually brought up, not the Strawhat we all know.
I would also love Bonney joining as a gesture to thank Kuma for all he has given the Straw Hats. So they take care of what he treasures most in the world
Bonney's goal for the rest of the manga will be taking down the celestial dragons and avenging her father - which aligns with where the story is going - but her dream will be to see the world like she and Kuma wanted which is why she'll be a strawhaw, the perfect crew to sail around with to see the world, both now and after the final war
I guess from this point of view it makes sense that she's already so strong; she has to be worthy. One thing's for sure, she's meant to be a big part of the story from now on.

Bonney is hands-down becoming one of One Piece's best characters, next to Kuma ofc. So much of her story is tied to Kuma, and Kuma's to Bonney that this is no longer just Kuma's backstory. It's Bonney's as well. It's becoming so much more likely that Bonney will be a Strawhat and I couldn't be more excited. My agenda may just come to fruition
I think we also underestimate the potential indebtedness Luffy may feel to Kuma. Upon his death, consequently his desire may be to bring her into his nakama.
Oda tends to do this thing where the new stories he's introducing feel random and out of place at first until things come full circle later. It happened with the Grand Fleet members, Tama, etc. Heck, even Vivi felt fillerish in the grand scheme of things, never having a significant role again for nearly a thousand chapters, until she turned out to be a D and firmly cemented as a key part of the revolution. This is happening again with Kuma and Bonney. I don't think anyone expected they'd be so intrinsically tied to Luffy by admiring Nika.
One thing to point out is that big mom had that chef guy streussen with her. She wasn’t even alone. Bonney did everything from the planning to the fighting to the execution all on her own.
And don't forget that there is something powerfull about the fact that kuma saved the straw hats in sabaody and now they are helping bonny two years later. Some would say she is going to follow the footsteps of kuma in the revolutionary but i think she is going to have a bigger connection with luffy as nika (idol of kuma and herself) than with the revolutionary
I mean, by now it's pretty clear Kuma asked Vegapunk to let him guard the Strawhat ship, so that they can continue their journey and create the world in which he wants Bonney to live in. It was all for Bonney, and it's paying off already.
So while I disagree with the notion that Luffy would give the strawhat to Bonney, I think it’s very possible she joins the crew. On the one hand I feel the same as you, I don’t really want any more straw hats on the ship (other than Vivi), but on the other hand I wouldn’t be totally against it, during this flashback I’ve come to like Bonney a lot more.
I think Luffy has to give this Straw Hat away so he can wear the one Imu is holding. A Pirate King needs a crown, and what better crown than the one Joy Boy wore.

I remember people used to speculate that Momo or Tama will officially join the Strawhats as the apprentice of the crew, similar to how Shanks and Buggy was in Roger's, but it may seem that Boney was that kid all along. Imagine the possibilities of Boney being an official member of the crew, we might actually get to see the good future timelines of the crew, especially the Monster Trio, considering the Oda is/has already building unique relationships between Boney and each of the trio. Luffy is her awaited hero, Zoro was saved by Boney back in Sabaody, and now Sanji has impressed Boney with his cooking abilities for being a glutton, a special trait she shares with Luffy.
I think you’re onto something. Good chance Bonney is Shanks’ half sister from Garling and so Luffy passing the hat to Shanks’ half sister would feel pretty fitting especially if Bonney is meant to be the middle generation the one looking for the true inheritor of the hat like Shanks was with Luffy. If Makino’s kid is Shanks then Bonney passing the hat to them later on would continue the cycle of Shanks being involved with every possessor of the hat we know so far.
I really really want this to happen. I think Bonney fits right in with One Piece. The first interaction we had with Bonney I felt a connection with the character. After that everything I had guessed about Bonney became true. The only thing left is for her to join the crew. I hope she does.

You are correct that Bonney has impressive courage and willpower for someone so young. I do want to say, however, that I think Luffy would have been capable of similar feats of courage IF he had set out on his journey at the same age. However, he chose to wait until age 17 to honor Sabo. This is a good thing because he needed time to master his devil fruit; he would have gotten himself killed otherwise. However, I'm not sure it's accurate to say Bonney has stronger will than Luffy just because her circumstances allowed her to display that fact at a younger age than Luffy. Luffy did stab himself in the face as a very young kid, after all. That shows to me that Luffy probably had a similar level of willpower at a similar age.
It’s an interesting theory but one weird thing about it is she is only 5 years younger then Chopper and 7 years younger then Luffy. For her to carry on Luffy’s legacy would mean that Luffy would have to die or disappear (space pirate???) by the end of the story because by the time Luffy will reach an age of retirement she would as well.
I mean considering the amount of life-shortening situations Luffy had he probably isn't gonna have a very long life. People are also speculating that he might get executed like Roger, which if it does, will probably happen after a fairly short time after becoming Pirate King, so Bonney would still be young around that time

First of all, as I mentioned, his lifespan was shortened so he will probably die fairly young, and it certainly sounds like Luffy wanting to go like Roger, at an execution stand with a grand speech, rather than peacefully in a secluded place. Secondly, Luffy at the end of the series will still be a pirate, and no matter what Luffy did, there will probably still be people that view him in a negative light because of the title. He will also be the Pirate King, which would attract other people to a life of piracy, and not necessarily the good kind of people. So maybe Luffy would give himself in to put an end the Pirate era (even if he doesn't die young, I doubt Luffy cares much about his life after archieving his goal). Or could be a mixture of the two
Funny enough, the whole idea of each crew member needing that tragic backstory is about to come to fruition with Bonney. Instead of losing her dad before meeting Luffy, she’ll lose him in front of Luffy. I doubt he’d just leave her be now.
also as child, her imagination and optimism is no bound either. thats why she can use her DF to such great degree, with her imagination, 'distorted future'. we knew that this arc, DF is manifestation of dream, So, maybe you no need great understanding (smart/high iq) to utilize your DF, maybe with great dream you can BEND/WILL your power, even if its look like broken or broke the rule of DF. HEll, we didnt get to show Bonney eat her DF.
i just want to point it out, that bonney can learn to use her DF to access NIKA (temporarely, of course), and 'mastered' it. thats another purpose why he join SHP, for short or forever.
My personal belief is that we are spending a lot of time with Kuma and Bonney‘s backstory to give us the motivation and hatred to see the celestial dragons toppled. This backstory has given us more reasons to hate the celestial dragons than the rest of the series combined. This is the final saga it’s suppose to end with the final defeat and destruction of the celestial dragons. There are a lot of characters in the story who want to see the celestial dragons toppled, but now we have a character in the story that has a very deep personal reason to take the celestial dragons down by their own hands, Bonney. The revolutionary army‘s reasons for wanting the celestial dragons toppled aren’t personal. They are instead motivated by ideals. In so far as their reasons are personal, it’s because of what happened to Kuma, ironically the same reason as Bonney. Although, it’s blatant that Luffy will be the one to ultimately tear the celestial dragons down and free their slaves, he doesn’t, as of yet, has a personal reason to do it, neither does any of other strawhats. Oda really wants to give us and the strawhats personal reasons to see villains defeated (see ViVi for crocodile, Law and Rebeca for Doffy, etc). After this arc, there will be someone who has that personal, and it’s Bonney. One way or the other she will be at Marjois for that final battle, and I think it will be the most fitting if she reaches that destination on the strawhats‘ ship, so that she will transmit her own personal motivations to the rest of the crew.
I always felt if there was one suitable crew mate left it would be her and seeing that she’s actually a child being the apprentice that people have long sought after would actually be perfect. Kuma being a super essential reason for why the straw hats are on the path of success today and the nika connection makes this even stronger of a possibility. Bonney is a very capable fighter as she’s even a rival Supernova to Luffy just off of her devil fruit hax and wits alone, also another female crew member would be a welcomed addition as well.
Even though I do want her in the crew, there is one direction it can go without Strawhats, that is she with Kuma traveling the world or joining Revolutionary with her father. But I do hope she joins, I just think Oda had changed his plans and I do believe Yamato was supposed to join but he decided to leave her to shorten the story

Yeah, I'm sold. I suspect she will travel with them even if she is more like a Momo-companion. So far, she is the best apprentice candidate. She is so thematically fitting. And extra note, even though she is a supernova as well, at this current time Luffy and likely Blackbeard have surpassed the others, at least a bit. She would have quite a bit to learn from Luffy, and one day, maybe surpass him (whether in power, will, or world impact).
Hmmm now this is an interesting concept with Bonney receiving the straw hat and continuing on Luffy's will and spirit plus she's actually 12 and still has a lot of life ahead of her hopefully but I wonder if she'll ride with the crew from here on out I don't see that though.
Bonney will definitely escape Egghead Island with the Strawhats, but as far as what happens with her in the long run, I feel like there are two possibilities that are equally likely. One is that she will indeed join the Strawhats as you suggest, the other is that she'll go with the Revolutionary Army (considering the fact that both her mother and the father that raised her were members, I see this as just as strong of a possibility as her joining the Strawhats).
That's possible, but why the revs when they're in the final stages of their existence (per the story) and, upon seeing G5 Luffy, would be content, given her personality, to willingly leave after that.

Every time a user almost drowned we saw them going completely limp and in that state the human body would also float, but they don't because the sea loathes Devil fruits and pulls their users to the bottom of the ocean. So to work the sunny would need a mythical Zoan that can conjure ice to run on the ocean like kuzan does with his bike. In either case even if the sunny still could float it doesn't matter. I think it flys against frankys dream to build the perfect ship that can sail around the world. Giving her a Devil Fruit would be kind of cheating. I'm pretty sure Franky would be against it since he didn't want to eat one himself. 🤷🏾
@@ddylir3012 devil fruits make you unable to swim, not unable to float. we also know that partial submersion doesn’t incapacitate you so since the sunny isn’t even halfway in the water it would be fine. also it would grant the sunny the ability to go out of the water and also be able to speak. i’m assuming the klabautermann is just the representation of the soul that would receive the devil fruit in the first place so interacting with a df sunny would be the same except through the physical ship itself. i’m down for it just being a spectral representation tho
@@ddylir3012 the reason people drown is because they sink below the surface and can’t breathe. we know partial submersion in water doesn’t incapacitate fruit users and the sunny isn’t even halfway underwater. the fruit would not make it stop being a boat while travelling but it would enable the sunny to travel over land. and most importantly it would grant it a consciousness. i think the idea of vegapunk giving df’s to inanimate objects is setup for this
I think Bonny will join and I am also certain that Vivi will join as well. There are 2 other candidates I believe may fit as the finale straw hat after those 2 Law and Hancock. Despite his reckless attitude Law seems to deeply respect Luffy and his crew and is shown smiling when Luffy claims he will be the king. On top of that just lost his ship and crew and has nowhere left to go and we was a former warlord. Hancock is deeply in love with Luffy and wants to be with him more than anything. She’s lost her warlord status and has flat out stated she can’t stay on Amazon Lily anymore, while her personality isn’t a perfect fit she may be much softer around the other straw hats once they discover her secret. Another thing that makes me think of this is Gloriosa being part of ROCKs. It’s possible it’s foreshadowing Hancock joining the next strongest pirate crew in history.
She has to become a crew mate! She dreams of Nika and she will be all alone after her father dies. She has to carry the well of her father and join Nika.
The one thing that was holding me back from believing that Bonney would be a strawhat was what role she would have on the crew, apprentice is an interesting idea. Still though I stand firm that the final of the 10 will be Vivi as the diplomat. I suppose Bonney could still join but as a learner.
I wonder if there's any sense in having Bonney be able to befriend / control the young Seraphim? Something about them being built upon the blueprints of her father?
After the final battle Luffy will be standing in front of his crew saying he lived his life the way he wanted as the freest man and for them not to be sad. He will put his hat on a crying Bonney. And he will die standing like Whitebeard having just brought the dawn of a new era and his body will turn into a bronze statue. Also the One Piece is a giant bronze statue of Joy Boy (or is a giant statue because original Joy Boy was a giant and was the first person before Luffy to awaken the Nika fruit). Final chapter of the manga will be a huge party where everyone in the world is celebrating the downfall of the celestial dragons and the dawn of the new era and that will be Luffy's real dream coming true.

You are tripping, Bonney will never join the SH and much less as an apprentice, she was a captain, no way she would take such a demotion. Bonney should go with the Revs, who are specifically attacking the Celestial Dragons, unlike Luffy.
Literally all of the strawhats took a demotion to work towards Luffys goal. Zoro has conquerors but is still Luffy's right hand man. Luffys greatest skill has always been getting powerful people to follow him, and to add to that Luffy (Nika) is herself and her fathers idol.
imo best possible ending for Egghead is Kuma’s memory bubble will enter S-Bear practically bringing Kuma back to life who will take Bonney to explore the world while on the run together this time. It’ll be Luffy who both defeats Saturn and somehow inadvertently leads to Kuma’s memory bubble ending up in S-Bear probably through destroying the room it’s contained in. This way Nika is liberating both Kuma and Bonney his most devout followers and giving them the life they deserve together.
If Bonney is later proven to be Garling’s daughter making her Shanks’ half sister. That would make her potential relationship with Luffy parallel that of Roger and Shanks .
I would really like for Bonney to join the crew, but I am afraid of the gags with Sanji. Oda is already drawing her in some "questionable" poses for a 12 years old. Even though her body might be 20ish, she is still a child.
Tbf Bonney is one of the few pretty girls Sanji hasn't simped after. I feel like even Oda understands giving one of the main characters pedo vibes is a bad idea
only reason i see her not joining is kuma's soul still being around and then implanted into the seraphim kuma. that way they both get a semi happy ending and they go off and go on a world tour together. but that wouldn't make much sense either as the world would still be ruled by the world government and i don't think kuma could just ignore all that and would then go join dragon. which means that kuma would not be able to show her the world like he wanted to until the world government is toppled. so that could lead to kuma asking nika/luffy if he could take bonney with him while he helped dragon. happy ending would be bonney and kuma going on their vacation finally when the world government is defeated. most likely ending is kuma dying for good at egg head and luffy taking bonney with him and making her the apprentice of the ship and showing her the world in kuma's place.
I'm not taking away from her trauma and willpower, but I see her being able to do all these things even at the age she is all because of her devil fruit. It's heavily implied that the focal point is Bonney's fruit, which we don't even know its capabilities. She's competent, but her desire to survive on the seas by herself was answered with the devil fruit she acquired. So, I wouldn't say she's blatantly above the other kids in the one-piece world. They all have trauma, but put someone like Sabo or Ace in that position, they'd rise to the occasion; that's just how kids in op are. Bonney’s role in the story is an important one, but she's not up next in that sense; I feel like the questions we have about her are going to get answered and wrapped up fairly soon I don't think it would be dragged out as a long-running side narrative.

It seems pretty clear to me the story is saying he is a celestial dragon, as well as the other knights. Them being the orphans is just headcanon, it would be cool and interesting but the story never hinted at that. It's the cp0 situation all over again
If you do end up being correct, Bonney has the extra plus of matching the patterns of the second crewmate in each part of the world being a girl and having a tragic backstory specifically involving the extreme tragic deaths of their moms in some way (Bellemere, Olvia, and and in this case Ginny)

It’s like when you look deeper you’ll see that the first crewmates are usually feared or infamous individuals that had trouble trusting luffy initially that lost someone important to them that later influenced major aspects of their life, the second crewmates are woman who aren’t really true crewmates initially but end up joining Luffy fully after he does something that changes them that also have backstories about the tragic deaths of their moms specifically, the third crewmates are very creative and passionate individuals that also have an influential figure that’s past in their life that later on went on to be leaders of some kind of gang, and the fourth and final crewmates are usually perverted individuals that have more going on in their lives then they initially would let on that have a quality of life passion they do

I was always on board for Bonney joining just based off the parallel that Dragon took in Kuma, and Luffy his son will take in his daughter. For what Kuma had done for Luffy and the crew he'd feel the need to want to repay Kuma by providing refuge for her in the crew. Bonney and Luffy have way too many parallels to simply ignore.
Both Bonney and Luffy have similar-ish personalities and strong wills as well as both of them being gluttons. Both are supernovas. Both have Revo parents. Both have ties to Nika. Both grew up as practically foster kids (Kuma being absent a large portion and Garp coming around once a full moon).

I've always wondered why Luffy was the one who was given the moniker when 2 legendary pirates before him wore it. Considering his new bounty poster(iconic all white that Bonney even brings up when they meet on Egghead proper) mixed with his proper title as Yonko being given after Wano and not as "the 5th Emperor". Now it makes sense, they all made a name for themselves AFTER giving up the hat. Everything they do after giving up the hat dwarves what comes before. I think we also underestimate the potential indebtedness Luffy may feel to Kuma. Upon his death, consequently his desire may be to bring her into his nakama.
Oda tends to do this thing where the new stories he's introducing feel random and out of place at first until things come full circle later. It happened with the Grand Fleet members, Tama, etc. Heck, even Vivi felt fillerish in the grand scheme of things, never having a significant role again for nearly a thousand chapters, until she turned out to be a D and firmly cemented as a key part of the revolution. This is happening again with Kuma and Bonney. I don't think anyone expected they'd be so intrinsically tied to Luffy by admiring Nika.
One thing to point out is that big mom had that chef guy streussen with her. She wasn’t even alone. Bonney did everything from the planning to the fighting to the execution all on her own.
I wouldn't really mind it. After the flashback, i really love the characters of bonney and kuma.
And don't forget that there is something powerfull about the fact that kuma saved the straw hats in sabaody and now they are helping bonny two years later. Some would say she is going to follow the footsteps of kuma in the revolutionary but i think she is going to have a bigger connection with luffy as nika (idol of kuma and herself) than with the revolutionary

So while I disagree with the notion that Luffy would give the strawhat to Bonney, I think it’s very possible she joins the crew.
On the one hand I feel the same as you, I don’t really want any more straw hats on the ship (other than Vivi), but on the other hand I wouldn’t be totally against it, during this flashback I’ve come to like Bonney a lot more.

I remember people used to speculate that Momo or Tama will officially join the Strawhats as the apprentice of the crew, similar to how Shanks and Buggy was in Roger's, but it may seem that Boney was that kid all along. Imagine the possibilities of Boney being an official member of the crew, we might actually get to see the good future timelines of the crew, especially the Monster Trio, considering the Oda is/has already building unique relationships between Boney and each of the trio. Luffy is her awaited hero, Zoro was saved by Boney back in Sabaody, and now Sanji has impressed Boney with his cooking abilities for being a glutton, a special trait she shares with Luffy.
I'm still mad about Tama not joining. Idk why but she is just such a wonderful character to me that invokes strong "must protect" energy

I think you’re onto something. Good chance Bonney is Shanks’ half sister from Garling and so Luffy passing the hat to Shanks’ half sister would feel pretty fitting especially if Bonney is meant to be the middle generation the one looking for the true inheritor of the hat like Shanks was with Luffy. If Makino’s kid is Shanks then Bonney passing the hat to them later on would continue the cycle of Shanks being involved with every possessor of the hat we know so far.

You are correct that Bonney has impressive courage and willpower for someone so young. I do want to say, however, that I think Luffy would have been capable of similar feats of courage IF he had set out on his journey at the same age. However, he chose to wait until age 17 to honor Sabo. This is a good thing because he needed time to master his devil fruit; he would have gotten himself killed otherwise. However, I'm not sure it's accurate to say Bonney has stronger will than Luffy just because her circumstances allowed her to display that fact at a younger age than Luffy. Luffy did stab himself in the face as a very young kid, after all. That shows to me that Luffy probably had a similar level of willpower at a similar age.
It’s an interesting theory but one weird thing about it is she is only 5 years younger then Chopper and 7 years younger then Luffy. For her to carry on Luffy’s legacy would mean that Luffy would have to die or disappear (space pirate???) by the end of the story because by the time Luffy will reach an age of retirement she would as well.
I mean considering the amount of life-shortening situations Luffy had he probably isn't gonna have a very long life. People are also speculating that he might get executed like Roger, which if it does, will probably happen after a fairly short time after becoming Pirate King, so Bonney would still be young around that time

First of all, as I mentioned, his lifespan was shortened so he will probably die fairly young, and it certainly sounds like Luffy wanting to go like Roger, at an execution stand with a grand speech, rather than peacefully in a secluded place. Secondly, Luffy at the end of the series will still be a pirate, and no matter what Luffy did, there will probably still be people that view him in a negative light because of the title. He will also be the Pirate King, which would attract other people to a life of piracy, and not necessarily the good kind of people. So maybe Luffy would give himself in to put an end the Pirate era (even if he doesn't die young, I doubt Luffy cares much about his life after archieving his goal). Or could be a mixture of the two

also as child, her imagination and optimism is no bound either. thats why she can use her DF to such great degree, with her imagination, 'distorted future'. we knew that this arc, DF is manifestation of dream, So, maybe you no need great understanding (smart/high iq) to utilize your DF, maybe with great dream you can BEND/WILL your power, even if its look like broken or broke the rule of DF. HEll, we didnt get to show Bonney eat her DF.
i just want to point it out, that bonney can learn to use her DF to access NIKA (temporarely, of course), and 'mastered' it. thats another purpose why he join SHP, for short or forever.
My personal belief is that we are spending a lot of time with Kuma and Bonney‘s backstory to give us the motivation and hatred to see the celestial dragons toppled. This backstory has given us more reasons to hate the celestial dragons than the rest of the series combined. This is the final saga it’s suppose to end with the final defeat and destruction of the celestial dragons. There are a lot of characters in the story who want to see the celestial dragons toppled, but now we have a character in the story that has a very deep personal reason to take the celestial dragons down by their own hands, Bonney.
The revolutionary army‘s reasons for wanting the celestial dragons toppled aren’t personal. They are instead motivated by ideals. In so far as their reasons are personal, it’s because of what happened to Kuma, ironically the same reason as Bonney.
Although, it’s blatant that Luffy will be the one to ultimately tear the celestial dragons down and free their slaves, he doesn’t, as of yet, has a personal reason to do it, neither does any of other strawhats. Oda really wants to give us and the strawhats personal reasons to see villains defeated (see ViVi for crocodile, Law and Rebeca for Doffy, etc). After this arc, there will be someone who has that personal, and it’s Bonney. One way or the other she will be at Marjois for that final battle, and I think it will be the most fitting if she reaches that destination on the strawhats‘ ship, so that she will transmit her own personal motivations to the rest of the crew.
I always felt if there was one suitable crew mate left it would be her and seeing that she’s actually a child being the apprentice that people have long sought after would actually be perfect. Kuma being a super essential reason for why the straw hats are on the path of success today and the nika connection makes this even stronger of a possibility. Bonney is a very capable fighter as she’s even a rival Supernova to Luffy just off of her devil fruit hax and wits alone, also another female crew member would be a welcomed addition as well.
Plus the very beginning of the Story Luffy said he wanted 10 crewmates. Currently he has 9

Yeah, I'm sold. I suspect she will travel with them even if she is more like a Momo-companion. So far, she is the best apprentice candidate. She is so thematically fitting.
And extra note, even though she is a supernova as well, at this current time Luffy and likely Blackbeard have surpassed the others, at least a bit. She would have quite a bit to learn from Luffy, and one day, maybe surpass him (whether in power, will, or world impact).

Bonney will definitely escape Egghead Island with the Strawhats, but as far as what happens with her in the long run, I feel like there are two possibilities that are equally likely. One is that she will indeed join the Strawhats as you suggest, the other is that she'll go with the Revolutionary Army (considering the fact that both her mother and the father that raised her were members, I see this as just as strong of a possibility as her joining the Strawhats).

Every time a user almost drowned we saw them going completely limp and in that state the human body would also float, but they don't because the sea loathes Devil fruits and pulls their users to the bottom of the ocean. So to work the sunny would need a mythical Zoan that can conjure ice to run on the ocean like kuzan does with his bike. In either case even if the sunny still could float it doesn't matter. I think it flys against frankys dream to build the perfect ship that can sail around the world. Giving her a Devil Fruit would be kind of cheating. I'm pretty sure Franky would be against it since he didn't want to eat one himself. 🤷🏾

I think Bonny will join and I am also certain that Vivi will join as well. There are 2 other candidates I believe may fit as the finale straw hat after those 2 Law and Hancock. Despite his reckless attitude Law seems to deeply respect Luffy and his crew and is shown smiling when Luffy claims he will be the king. On top of that just lost his ship and crew and has nowhere left to go and we was a former warlord.
Hancock is deeply in love with Luffy and wants to be with him more than anything. She’s lost her warlord status and has flat out stated she can’t stay on Amazon Lily anymore, while her personality isn’t a perfect fit she may be much softer around the other straw hats once they discover her secret. Another thing that makes me think of this is Gloriosa being part of ROCKs. It’s possible it’s foreshadowing Hancock joining the next strongest pirate crew in history.

After the final battle Luffy will be standing in front of his crew saying he lived his life the way he wanted as the freest man and for them not to be sad. He will put his hat on a crying Bonney. And he will die standing like Whitebeard having just brought the dawn of a new era and his body will turn into a bronze statue. Literally all of the strawhats took a demotion to work towards Luffys goal. Zoro has conquerors but is still Luffy's right hand man. Luffys greatest skill has always been getting powerful people to follow him, and to add to that Luffy (Nika) is herself and her fathers idol.
imo best possible ending for Egghead is Kuma’s memory bubble will enter S-Bear practically bringing Kuma back to life who will take Bonney to explore the world while on the run together this time. It’ll be Luffy who both defeats Saturn and somehow inadvertently leads to Kuma’s memory bubble ending up in S-Bear probably through destroying the room it’s contained in. This way Nika is liberating both Kuma and Bonney his most devout followers and giving them the life they deserve together.

If Bonney is later proven to be Garling’s daughter making her Shanks’ half sister. That would make her potential relationship with Luffy parallel that of Roger and Shanks .

I would really like for Bonney to join the crew, but I am afraid of the gags with Sanji. Oda is already drawing her in some "questionable" poses for a 12 years old. Even though her body might be 20ish, she is still a child.
Tbf Bonney is one of the few pretty girls Sanji hasn't simped after. I feel like even Oda understands giving one of the main characters pedo vibes is a bad idea
only reason i see her not joining is kuma's soul still being around and then implanted into the seraphim kuma. that way they both get a semi happy ending and they go off and go on a world tour together. but that wouldn't make much sense either as the world would still be ruled by the world government and i don't think kuma could just ignore all that and would then go join dragon. which means that kuma would not be able to show her the world like he wanted to until the world government is toppled. so that could lead to kuma asking nika/luffy if he could take bonney with him while he helped dragon. happy ending would be bonney and kuma going on their vacation finally when the world government is defeated. most likely ending is kuma dying for good at egg head and luffy taking bonney with him and making her the apprentice of the ship and showing her the world in kuma's place.
I'm not taking away from her trauma and willpower, but I see her being able to do all these things even at the age she is all because of her devil fruit. It's heavily implied that the focal point is Bonney's fruit, which we don't even know its capabilities. She's competent, but her desire to survive on the seas by herself was answered with the devil fruit she acquired. So, I wouldn't say she's blatantly above the other kids in the one-piece world. They all have trauma, but put someone like Sabo or Ace in that position, they'd rise to the occasion; that's just how kids in op are. Bonney’s role in the story is an important one, but she's not up next in that sense; I feel like the questions we have about her are going to get answered and wrapped up fairly soon I don't think it would be dragged out as a long-running side narrative.
