Just when i thought music was all in the past, 'lake street dive', show me the future and i love it.
Such a well said, perfect comment here!
My husband found you on you tube when he was searching his favourite song "I want you back". He was blown away by you (as was I) and he promptly bought your cd. Wow! You guys are great! I hope you come to Canada someday! Would love to see you live! You guys rock!!!
Totally agree with you. As a trumpet player, I would be very happy to!
I am an old guy who grew up with the Beatles, Crosby/Stills/Nash, Loggins & Messina, etc. I was sure no one created original music after 1970............until now. Wow! You have something really special and fresh. Thank you for all your hard work. You will touch millions of people with your music.
Anyway you slice and dice it, this song is incredible!!, the lead vocalist, backup vocals, bass playing, all the instruments...so well done!
Is there a bit of Carol King at times in that AMAZING voice of Rachel Price? This band and EVERYTHING they do BLOWS ME AWAY! simply sensational!!!!
+lindyfralin hwound Totally agree! The first word that that popped in to my mind when I heard the album was "tapestry". :D That pretty much describes it.
My goodness... I've listened to this on repeat for the past several hours. What an incredible song!! Love it, love it, love it!!!! Keep up the excellent work, Lake Street Dive!!!
The thing most of these debate questions is missing is that music is changing. Ten years ago this band wouldn't even have this much attention. It's the beauty of the internet and the money/fame/talent pie that used to be decided by the big labels is rapidly turning old and moldy. The industry has been radically changed and we are all the beneficiaries of it. I for one have found more bands that I had never heard of before in the past 5 years than my previous 20, and couldn't be happier about it.
Amazing stuff! Crazy about the girl singer! Wonderful!
this is unbelievable, can't believe I've lived life this long without hearing your voice.
She cracks me up on the bass. A joy to watch and very talented.
im obsessed. this band is the best discovery in recent memory!
so happy i found this group. absolutely amazing and i can't stop listening.
This band is the best thing I have heard in the last 15 years. Fresh, tight ,allll right, Blessed be folks. Keep it coming! :>)
So much soul. I can't handle it.
Love, Love, Love, your sound ! Best Wishes in the future.
Lake Street Dive is the best!
I'm so excited! Our new hometown band, The Infamous Stringdusters, obviously love these folks - they played at this year's Festy and are invited back for New Year's Eve, for which I've just won free tickets at the local radio station! This is the song I use to introduce people to this band, Music Fog always has great cuts.
They truly deserve to be world wide popular.
I keep coming back to this song, because it is so much fun! ^_^
I love this group!
this band is on to something..Wow...what a voice on this girl. I wish you all the best to this band and much Success. You deserve it. I am just happy I found this on You Tube.
You guys are rad! I love your music. It is all inspirational. Seeing upright bass this way in contemporary music is the coolest thing I've seen in a while.
I saw this live... and over the video is is completely not apparent how much this bass player rocks! Bridget Kearney!
This songs always cheers me up... fun.
very good! i love to every once in a while just put the headphones on and just listen to great voices like these...
Colbert has great taste.
It is my hope that we see much more of you guys
I was at the town hall while they played. They sounded even better there.
God I love this song!
They performed this on Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of Inside Llewyn Davis. It was so dope...
Brought the house down
Oooh I like these guys! Crazy good vocals!
What a good surprise! I just met this band yesterday watching randon videos in UA-cam. It's their 5th video I'm watching, and I gotta tell you guys, its FANTASTIC to find bands like that in nowdays, it's our safe-boat in this sea of ignorance and manfactured songs. Thanks guys, you are fantastic. And it's not coming from anyone, I'm a pretty good self-taught musician myself.....FLAWLESS BAND, don't ever stop!
This is painfully beautiful.
Ree diculous, seeing them in Syracuse on the 26th of June and then they play three blocks from my house on July 27th.
Amazing!
What an AWESOME voice!!!
that girl is quite a singer... pure &, clear, right on key all over the range of the song
Saw them on Colbert. Fresh and new.
This song is sooooo cool. Also, everyone in this band is adorable.
A friend of mine showed me your cover of "I Want You Back." I was overwhelmed. I immediately downloaded the album from amazon. So talented. So refreshing. I love this original song. I so look forward to you guys blowing up. All the best. God bless. You have a New fan.
Brilliant!!!!
Has Bridget ever played that song the same way twice? Every version I've heard she does something a little different.
Awwww Man Why-o-why is it that ppl or groups with so much talent get so little recognition?! I'm no music professional by any means BUT ..... THEY GOT IT ...... REALLY. They really do
Love, love, love lake street dive.... Waiting for their opening at Solano beach next month :-)
AGH They're just so good!!! Can't wait to see them in SF in Oct!
splendid, this group will do well
Can't wait to see this angel at the Space on the 24th!!
Loved them since I "found" them on NPR. And they're coming to San Diego on 18 March!
Can't wait!
My favorite new band! And if you're a fan, then take the time to listen to their Prairie Home Companion appearances. The best renditions (and recordings) of Bad Self Portrait, You Go Down Smooth, Miss Disregard, Henriette - and their covers of I Want You Back and Faith. The team is so tight, and Rachael is spot on. They bring down the house. LOVED IT!
so refreshing...
Woooow! Crazy FUN and Crazy Good!!!
This video is one of the best delivered songs I have ever heard performed by a singer and a band. So who are the twelve numskulls who gave this thumb downs???
This hit the spot!
damn. new discovery right here. thanks for making the sweet music you make.
Love this band!
The skill of those girls blows me away.
Damn! Another winner!
Holy crap that was awesome! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful :-)
stand-up bassist Bridget Kearney is spectacular!!!!
If you haven't yet, check out their video of "Henriette" live at Pickathon 2012. Bridget does by far the most incredible bass solo on that video that I've ever seen!
YAY THEY ARE COMING TO PORTLAND -- I AM SO EXCITED.
Great Band!
I like it!
Just ordered tickets ohhhh yea!
Glad I'm not the only one....with a lot of Adele as well.
..Killing me softly!.. :)
Love your voice rachel.saludos
great vocalist. love that doghouse bass.
cool stuff !
very fun, wish I was there to cheer them on
I'm in love...
So happy I found this. I heard it on the radio and I thought it might be this band when I heard it but they didn't say the artist... well my guess ended up being right :D
The singer is certainly awesome. However, this is a BAND with a great pedigree of talent, styles and instrumentation, producing a fresh unique blend. Let's put it another way. You don't just walk up to the instruments and mic and do this. Nice job people! Great video! :-)
thank you stephen.....
I love that bassist 3
WOW!!!!
killer pipes
No my dear, you go down smooth MY EAR HOLES!!!!
Super like!
Just heard them on Prarie Home Companion.....wow! I thought it was Adele as a side project for a few moments! Awesome!
I'll see you in SF on the 3/20 - so jazzed!
This song BEGS for a full brass section to punctuate it. Really fun and peppy!
Dammmmmmm, she can blow lol, i love the song
holy crap.
Has a nice sort of Motown feel to it, great job!
The 'Colbert Bump' introduced me and I am glad. They are awesome!
Saw You On Worldstarhiphop! I hope You Guys Make It BIG just like Karmin did You have an Amazing voice!
The 'Colbert Bump' introduced me to this band a while ago and I love this song......
I added a radio channel on Google Play Music but this song isn't on there yet, bummed
Great share Ken! New to me...love it. Best to your people, please.
cool bassplayeress!!!!
Woohoo!
Go me!
They sound great live here - but I gotta say I do miss the horns from the studio version a little - such a great, joyful sound! Regardless, this one's pretty top notch!
Their brains are wired differently to ours!
i may not be your intention, but your band is so soothing to demons...
Because they are not popular yet, their booking agent should try to get them on a show for national & possibly international exposure
Rebel fm recommended you at the end of the most recent podcast :D
I have been saying this to myself for the past two weeks
I ve been in the business a long time I am currently 62yrs of age which makes that a lot of years so........ I am qualified to have a opinion.
I got to say the band is tight and musical ...... keep going!
If, I had any comment at all I would say at some point in time you will have to add some more instrumentation to fill up the sound other then that awesome!
Tony Pulera It surprises me that you recommend "filling" space that I, on the contrary, find vital in allowing the parts already in place to come through and especially to let the superlative vocal the air it deserves. McDuck will tell you the importance of space and avoiding the temptation to overplay. In sum, less IS MORE. :)
Ok depends ...the sound is good it appeals to a certain target audience..that audience will not grow beyond coffee house and part of a concert line up until you add instrumenation and tweek it a bit selling records and sales is what it is all about
Showbusiness music business take the first part of that word away "its a business. In order to
+lindyfralin hwound
I thought it was a great tune, loved the vocal dunno what else you'd add without making it sound cluttered. Thought the production was a bit on 'glassy' side, quite a lot of harsh top end. This is all IMHumbleO obviously.......
This is their best song! Why isn't on their album??
Someone needs to make a lyrics video for this song
there is something about her voice that grabs me and I don't wan her to let go lol
