- After many years, i wanted to play again this game. So many memories.
This video contains all the missions of Chicago. (I'll also upload the other missions)
I am currently playing with the PS1 emulator ePSXe v1.8.0 (this version just came out 1 month ago). With this version, now disc-swapping works again! This means you can swap between disc1 and disc2 correctly.
List of missions:
0:00 - Surveillance tip off
2:16 - Chase the witness
3:48 - Train pursuit
6:27 - Tailing the drop
8:37 - Escape to the safe house
12:50 - Chase the intruder
15:33 - Caine's compound
18:40 - Leaving Chicago - Ігри

Definitely Not Me Same! I played this all the time as a little kid several years after it was released and I loved it. I used to play free roam all the time. I also played the first campaign mission all the time not realizing it wasn't free roam. Good times. I really do miss this game.

I played a lot of Driver 2 and this is my first time seeing it in nearly 20 years. This fills me with both nostalgia and anxiety.

One problem is that I still can't pass the mission in Havana called Find the Clue. God, I just don't have a clue in how to finish that one mission.
Nobody can beat Tanner's take off time in a car. He opens the door, closes it, turns on the engine and drives off in LESS than a SECOND! I just love that.

i remember one time i needed only 2 cards more to make that parking full,and i run too much away from it so when i returned all cars were gone
i was so angry,1 hour of work vanished in a second
Roaming was great, as was great story. I loved especially the story of the first Driver, and the OST.

The 7 year old me would just enjoy driving around, trying to steal a cop car and trying to drive normally around without breaking laws, had no idea that the game had a story and didn't even speak English at the time to understand what was said lmao

Almost impossible to hit a car in a crossing in GTA because they always brake when you approach them. In Driver it's totally the opposite. Way more realistic

Never in the history of video games will any game touch the level of old school, cinematic car chase, late 70s early 80s cool that this game did.
Right now games that are not even 5 years old are getting remastered. Makes no sense to me. Why can't something like Driver 2 get the remastered treatment? Imagine playing this game without the insane pop-up.

Ben Conway if this game is good, tell me , why gta series has record sales, and driver series is forsaken? gta has spin-offs, remasters, hd editions - on countless platforms. but we don't hear about driver hd versions. and never will. parallel lines and driver san francisco came out and were forgotten immediately. I remind you, Driver 2 came out before gta3, so publishers had advantage for popularizing it.
One of my all time favorite games. I remember thinking how amazing the graphics were back then. I love free roam mode, and would just admire all the cities.
I remember playing this with my best friend as kids. We'd always laugh when on the freeway and a bus would take the entrance just to take the exit immediately. RIP friend. You're always in my thoughts.

When they sometimes disappear off screen I always thought that meant I'd ran one over, or if they ran into a building and disappeared I thought they went inside to get away from me. Couldn't comprehend as a kid that it was a glitch lol.

I played this all the time and I don't remember anything popping in right in front of you, the cars aren't even that fast. Gtasa had a lot of pop in while flying, boom, invisible tree

OMG!! THE MUSIC, THE SIRENS, THE CARS!! Such nostalgia! Sadly, my copy of the game disc broke when I lifted the lid to my ps1, that was snugly shelved and it *cracked* the disc in TWO!! I was devastated!! Soon after the ps2 came into our lives and so did GTA Vice City. Thanks for the nostalgia trip!

I remember I DID finish the game back then but with a lot of difficulty. I couldn't even pass 4 streets solid without bumping / police chases etc. You play pretty nice \m/

I remember watching my dad play this all the time when I was younger. Poor guy could never get past train pursuit. 16 years later, I know his pain with steal a cop car. That mission is damn near impossible
Visiting Chicago for the first time today and drove under those train tracks, which took me back to this game with such a nostalgic feeling! Had such a good time playing it.

This game was simply AMAZING for its time! The first mission is based on a scene of the movie The French Connection, with Gene Hackman. Worth searching for it here in youtube.

@@policeman911pdman even gta4 didn't have finessing of powerslides like driver. in GTA you slide and wash out into whatever was ahead of you, in driver it's like rally driving and you can still cut a sharper line

Marcos Paulo Santos no it wasnt. The texture pops up out of nowhere because the disc is being read slow. The game had a lot of bugs and glitches. This game had a lot of issues. Ign gave it a bad rating including electronic game monthly and others.

For some reason the most remembered mission in the game was in Havanna when you had to chase four crazy cars in a row, I made like 200 attempts to pass that mission when I was a kid. Tonight I`ve done it after 3rd attempt.
That was nothing compared to the mission where you had to damage a truck carrying bombs...

Ubisoft Reflections, Sennari made this game. They made a Driver 3 but it is completely different and hard to get a hold of. For some reason you cant buy from UPlay, Steam, and many other places. Look up "The Game Ubisoft Doesn't Want you to Play on YT" the guy talks about Driver 3 and how hard it was to get the game.
And fix first mission its too hard.
Remember playing this game while listening to Oasis' Be Here Now album full blast, particularly "It's getting better, man". Great times.
The coolest thing about this game as a kid was me finding that they actually had a dance performance place I went to (Ballet) fully modeled in the game, same staircase leading up to the door. Really incredible level of detail and of all the places I wondered why it was so... accurate. Driver 2 rules!

I had the bootleg edition of this game for my tuned ps1 together with resident evil 3, spiderman, crash bandicoot 2 and 3 and many more. I spend several hours playing all these games. Its really nostalgic when thinking about that time. I am now 30 and i have a daughter of 3 years. When i played this game I was 10/11 years maybe..really make you think about life

I used to play the *fuck* out of some 'Driver' I loved this damn game back in the day. I loved getting home from work, blazing up a big fat bowl of some stanky-dank, kush and playing this game until it was time to go to bed. The sound of the engine in that black car it's something I'll never forget.
My cousin and I used to play Driver 2 together all the time. Thing is, he was one of those dudes that got all pissed off and freaked out and shit about video games.He went through two controllers with just *this* game. Not my damn controllers though. He knew better than to pull that shit with my stuff. I always made him bring his own controllers. If he started that whining/crying, freaking out, bitching, and hollering shit around me, I would tell him to "make like an Italian and get the fuck out of here" I can't stand that shit. it just kind of sucks up the mood and makes everything feel all awkward. He was the guy that swore up and down the computer was cheating. Everyone had that one friend, or knew that one person that always said that. 👌🙄🤣

If I get really angry with a game, I will just reach over and shut it off, and say fuck it. It's a God damn video game, it is not worth ruining my day, or fucking up my mood over. It sure as hell isn't worth spending my hard-earned money buying extra things, because I got mad, and threw a pussy ass fit.
I'm so glad I took care of my things from back in the day. I still have this game, and now that this video popped up in my suggestions list, I think I might bust that thing out and play it on my OLED.
