- Just remembering the old times where I used to do this. Thank the people who created emulators!
The glitch will not happen if the car is damaged (even the slightest) because we need it to go below the ground so it can fall on its side. Or in this case, on its roof (happens around 2:40).
Emulated in ePSXe and recorded with Open Broadcaster.

Dude you have no idea how much this used to freak me out as a kid... First time it happened I got so scared I turned off the ps1 and went under my bed to calm down xD

Yeeeeees i remember this glitch..... I had so much fun watching cop cars fall through the map trying to chase me..... Ohhh this brings me back.
I remember thinking this happened because my disk was too scratched
The fact that it was glitchy af is what made it so fun.
And the 3 was all the more glitchy
I remember doing this for hours as a kid. I'm not sure if it was easier or harder to do at night but I remember laughing so much at the shadows and lights of the cars spinning on the ground even though the car was nowhere to be seen and then being really surprised when the car would drop out of the sky, good times 😄
I always wondered; in the shadow of the person it has a gun in its hand, i always tried every button to shoot, or looking it up. I played my arse off
Lots of glitches in each of the 4 cities. Chicago had this and driving on the grandstands at the baseball field. Las Vegas was jumping limos over the pedestrian bridges. If you pile them up on the sidewalk or on the pedestrian overpass, they will start to explode off one another. then you can launch them, jump out, and they sink into the road. In Rio, drive them into the volcano lake crater, after about 10 or more, they start raining cars. Walk around the rim and off the edge of the map. Go to the monument with wide steps and a platform. Drive city buses just over the edge and they will do a headstand, you can line up about 5 side-by-side that way. Drive other cars on top of them and they will launch to the moon! The ferry dock in Havana had a similar glitch, but I can't remember how to trigger it now. There was a glitch at the fort, too. Launch a bunch of them into the ocean in Rio and they start raining cars that way too!

When I was around 12 to 13 years old, I've discovered this glitch by myself and was so funny but was even better when I've met two new friends in school which also found that glitch by themselves and we together had a lot of fun replicating this glitch at one of these two friends home.

This glitch happened to me when i was a kid and i didn't know what was happening.
I had been seeing the car shadows and didn't really know what they were, then i saw some cars falling outta the sky, like what the heck is going on here!? Then i saw cars falling through the ground, then decided to play on a different city.
But it was fun. I had just been messing around in the game, trying to get launched in the air and what not when this glitch happened to me.
Late, but yeah same here it creeped me out at first with the cars falling out of nowhere, but then I noticed a pattern by the bridge and tried to do it all the time lol.
Ah... that's not a glitch. Leaving your car to fall after a bridge is the easiest way to open inter-dimensional pits.

That's how I did it. Let the car fall through the crack of the bridge. Takes a little paitence. Plus the roads and buildings won't mess up either.

I used to park cars on the bridge too so that when the bridge went up, everyone would fall... that's how the glitch started too 😂😂
I loved this glitch! I used to drive through buildings, fall from the sky and fall from the sky at Havana's water front!!

O.O You found it! Wholly crap! I had so much fun with this glitch! I thought it was because the game was busted because the glitch grew until the textures and everything started to go haywire.

That hasn't happened with me besides only in Vegas, where some buildings just disappeared and some textures just getting slightly distorted, but it gets fixed itself as soon as I went farther.
@@Xch3l if you play for like 2-3 h straight on ps1/2 the cars will sometimes go crazy and drive in circles, their ai is fucked at this point

I used to see this often and wondered wtf was going on. Did you ever do the "police chasing you outside the car" glitch? I think I only got it to work in Havana and Rio, and only in certain places. Basically you get a police car after you, and if you lose it, usually in an alleyway or similar and immediately get out of the car, if the circumstances are right it'll begin chasing you on foot and trying to run you down. You know the glitch worked as you'll hear the siren but the blue light won't be on, and the car will relentlessly chase after you. Frequently works at the place in Rio near where you start at the corner of the beach. Some kind of palace/where the canons are. It's been about 15 years so I can't remember much other than nailing it down to a fine art.
Haha yea, I remember that too! Never got that one right but I could make cops follow my last car by touching them with a new one when they were blocking the way. I used to do that in Vegas mostly

ah this game: D this glitch is present in all cities and I know why this is happening because there are cordydates XYZ near the bridge and they are at 0 and this glitch would be much bigger.

Absolutely pmsl when my car reappeared and fired down the street at 100mph pinballing all the other cars all over the place. 😆😆

I switched from that gray car to a cop car in mid air; when we collided -press the triangle twice real fast an I was in the cop car. miss this game much
I remember that glitch too! :D It is 17 years ago where i played Driver on the PS One, i was there 6 years old. By the way do you know the train glitch?
Wow you were lucky at 4:19 because by the time your damage bar went full the cop's car died. If it didn't the game is over. (It's game over when you are being pursued and your damage bar is full)

i remember this can be done in havana somewhere too.
Never had this happen on chicago but on havana if i remember it was on or near the main road by the ocean/sea car would just fall through the ground sometimes.

I remember playing this when it was new and in Chicago my car randomly fell through the ground for no reason
I used to do that, but I didn't know how I triggered it. I would do random stuff like walking backwards close to the bridge to go to the other side of the road. Other things, too, like leaving my vehicle while jumping.
I used to park cars on the bridge too so that when the bridge went up, everyone would fall... that's how the glitch started too 😂
This works on all maps.
I have done this before but differently. I sat my car on the crack of the bridge and let it fall through. I never had the roads have some kind of invisible barrier, or the roads and buildings glitch out before either.
I used to do that too, but it takes some time. :v Also, doing it this way screws up the game pretty bad XD
@@Xch3l Yea, you need paitence for it. It's funny, when it first happened I just wanted to see what would happen if I left the car on the bridge.

In Havana I was driving a Plymouth in Church yard...I had fenoly a bit...the cop found me but just before he attacked I got out of the car
Then guess what...the cop attacked the empty car I was in...I just watched how the cop was destroied and when I got into my damaged car , I had more fenoly but I wasnt even inside😅
I think I done that too, and just stood there and watched them ramming the crap outta the car I was in
