For context of just how fast these SUV’s are, an original Lamborghini Murciélago does the track in 1.23.7
& the Ferrari 599 GTO in 1.21.2
People hate SUVs but really ignore the engineering evolution that's gone into them
That is completely bonkers to get that performance out of that ride height and weight!
It's mostly about modern tires. Tires 15 years ago were much worse

Would love to see Becky replace either McGuiness or Flintoff. Becky and Chris know their stuff inside-out, and have a natural enthusiasm that comes across very well, without feeling forced or sensationalist.

Flintoff and Paddy need to go. Harris, Ben Catchpole and Jethro Bovingdon would be a winner imo.
@@M3PH11 Funny you day that, Henry Catchpole came to mind for me too, but I really like the thing he has going on by himself with Carfection. I don't think he needs to be with other presenters, and I'd go so far as to say it might not suit his style as well. I love his work, standalone, outside of the Top Gear arena.

The Cayenne Turbo GT is a seriously impressive machine. By far the best SUV on the market, hands down.
I love the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, cuz it's fast and easy to control the handling. For the Audi RS Q8, I will say not bad for it's handling. Good job👍🏻

Thanks to modern TV cameras and tuned suspension it can look a little sterile watching anyone drive and talk - unless you have long hair. It really highlights how much acceleration and braking force is going on.

Great video, really enjoyed seeing Becky on the team.
Both are great sport vehicle.... However it can be outlined that during the fast lap the Audi RS maintains a cleaner driving and it can be seen from the game on the steering wheel that Sting uses in counter steering ..
Porsche holds 1st 6th 7th and 10th fastest sub nurburing lap time.

@@SuccessfulInsaanTObe Why, becuase its basically the same vehicle with a 75k higher staring price. I like the Audis looks better, Performance is basically the same. The Lambo Urus is the same vehicle also, for even more money, Around this track they are within a less than a second of each other. The Audi is fast around Nurburgring, you can check the stats, same engine the porsche has a bit more power through tuning. The audi is hands down the BEST Bang for your money, unless you Want/Need the prestige of the Porsche or Lamborghini name. Its the same Vehicle. thats why, IMO

"it's has 23"wheels, when have you seen anything with wheels that big go this fast" (paraphrasing) don't quite understand that comment and there are several similar moments.
She has potential, let's hope she continues to improve.
A larger total diameter wheel has slower acceleration compared with smaller diameter wheel. Becky is spot on with the comment!
Plenty of theory and tests over the years to prove this.
Larger wheels give a larger contact patch with the road, also more stable. However larger wheels can increase the unsprung weight. Gear ratios can sort the larger wheel giving slower acceleration "problem".
Cost of larger wheels and aerodynamic concerns also play a part, also tyre and wheel technology. There are several manufacturers now 23" rims and the cullinan has a 24" option I think.
Also most of the larger rims on high performance cars at the moment are on 4x4s and SUVs. Ground clearance?I believe some manufacturers are looking at up to 26" currently.
It could just be to make the monster they are look more aesthetically pleasing.
