My Top 3 takeaways
1 - Whever you Comment, do not address it to the author.
Address it to the Audience.
And make sure to provide Free Coaching and add even more Value (that’s not included in the post)
2 - Jasmin Alić starts every post with “Dear Son”
Ensuring that he is only writing to ONE reader everytime.
He talks about how anyone can do this - And it’s one of the best ways move past Post Anxiety
When you are only writing to one person.
3 - Your Hook SHOULD be a preview to the whole post.
What that means, is that the first couple of lines should be simple enough
That anyone that stumbles on the post, even if they don’t have a Maketing or LinkedIn background
Will understand what the post will be about.

This interview was Godlike.
2 of my fsvorite creators. I'll be rewatching for sure 😊
Excellent takeaways.
Watching through a second time so will add some more takeaways shortly 😊
My man! Appreciate you, Matt!
Thank you; You nailed all the nails in the coffins!!!!
I would add the 1+3 commenting rule.
Such a basic thing and so epic!
Thanks for summarizing@matthewlakajev
9 powerful Jay's quotes from this amazing chat:
1. "No one is there to read your content. No one is there to find that particular post of yours. You will be interrupting someone's usage of the platform."
2. "Writing is 90% psychology and 10% formatting (and catering for the platform)."
3. "The hook gets you in the room (it makes it interesting)... But the re-hook slams the door behind you (and it keeps you reading to the very end)."
4. "Attention means nothing without retention."
5. "It's not about writing to millions. It's about writing to one as if they're worth 1 million people to you."
6. "Comments are the greatest growth "hack" on LinkedIn."
7. "If the post is a movie, your comment should be a post's credit scene."
8. "If your profile is super clear (and you're getting thousands of profile views every day), INBOUND BABY!"
9. "I hate the phrase "Practice Makes Perfect." You can never be perfect. Practice makes BETTER."
Thanks to both of you, Jay & Chris! And a happy new year!
Awesome value and share with this comment 🙏🏾
Summary and Takeways:
1. Images: Always 4:5 resolution
2. Headline: Shows up everywhere. Modify it to make it your one line pitch
3. Commenting: Whever you Comment, do not address it to the author. Address it to the Audience. And add more value. Also reply to 3 other comments.
4. While drafting a post, address it as Dear XYZ and write the entire post addressing to one person. Before posting, remove the Dear part.
5. Hook: Summarize the post in one line OR Tell what the entire post is all about in one line OR what one can learn from the entire post in one line.
6. Re-hook: Add an objection to above hook and provide clarity OR put an opposite view to the hook.
I hate "selling" and this is 90 minutes of how to give value and attract. So solid!
Top 5 Key Takeaways.
1. Write better hooks and re-hooks in your LinkedIn posts to grab attention and improve retention. Ask yourself - what's the one key thing you want readers to learn? State that clearly in the hook.
2. Comment thoughtfully on other people's LinkedIn posts to increase your visibility and brand authority. Aim to provide value for all readers, not just the original poster.
3. Optimize your LinkedIn profile to clearly show what you do and have a strong call to action. This converts profile views into leads.
4. Consistently practice writing daily, even if you don't publish it. This will help you improve your writing skills over time.
5. Building personal brand and authority on LinkedIn takes time but can change lives. Focus on empowering others, not just gaining reach or monetization.
This is Goldmine of knowledge. Thanks for sharing Jay & Chris.
Well done.
My takeaways are:
- Hook is a summary of the post in 1 line
- Re-hook this is where you address objection or put contradictory statement
- Commenting radically increases your visibility
- Write at least 3 comments to others comment
I just like how Jay simplify LinkedIn for us 👏
Jasmin is THE best person you can learn Linkedin from.
So glad he made it to this podcast, such an inspirational man.
Kidness, intelligence and SO MUCH experience.
That man is unbelievable.
Thank you endlessly, @laraacostar
Slurp. Slurp.
Yes.
Seeing these people talk to each other in such a humble way is just amazing.
Thanks guys
This dude is a genius at this. Love how his mind works and processes information. I got tons of value out of this. Thanks y’all. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is the kind of Dad’s that we need in this World. The most valuable lesson for this video was that. Congrats and keep up loving your son and providing him with the support he needs.
It was such a pleasure to listen to Jasmin. Such a DECENT and Peaceful and Positive Man!!! Thank You.
I love the Dear Son approach. I try to write to my audience as if they are important to me. Yes, it's because they are. Write in the language of your ideal audience and you will attract more of them. The Dear Son explanation is an excellent approach. My takeaway of this video reinforces my personality of caring. THANK YOU.
This is one of the most valuable videos about LinkedIn and branding that I have seen in a long time. I am just BLOWN AWAY!!❤
Glad to hear
Chris, you have an idea how much you inspired me to start designing.
I'm so in love with designing but I decided to focus on my career in cloud engineering while building my personal brand on LinkedIn. You helped me define my brand color, taught me typography, and helped me understand how to use contrast in my designs, without ever meeting you.
Your LinkedIn profile inspired mine. Your banner also inspired mine. I've stolen all your carousels and taken a spin on them.
THANK YOU! 🧡
It is beautiful to witness and feel the presence of two such authentic human beings that live, love and breathe what they do. Jasmin's comment about being a single dad and prioritizing time is very potently special. Thanks for being you! Both of you 🤲🏽
Chris, thank you for giving Jasmin the platform to share his experience and knowledge with the world. He has just begun his journey at the top, and I am confident that we will hear more about his impact from some of the biggest global stages in the future. I have been closely following him for 10 years now, and I can say that I have never worked with a better and more creative copywriter and branding professional. He is also an awesome human being. His insight, research, analysis, approach to structure, and creative wisdom are truly remarkable. It is an honor to have the opportunity to closely watch him pursue greatness.
Wow ❤ @vedadmesanovic9
What you see in Jasmin is obvious when I watch this great conversation (a true mini-master class), and your appreciation is so genuine... and refreshing. Is there something special you have learned from Jasmin that has helped you? I'd love to learn what you revisit every day.
I’m honored to have him.
This was so much more clear than anything else I’ve heard people say about LinkedIn. It’s not a hack, because you have to do the work to get skilled at writing. What this advice does is help that practice bear fruit. As a musician, I know that simple practice isn’t enough. It’s the right kind of practice that makes all the difference. Thank you.
So happy to hear this @kathleenthompson9566
It's kind of refreshing when you actually have to work to build a skill to do it, right? LOL.
@@moonseedsstudio it sure is. And it builds character.
Not even 5 minutes in and I had to track Jay down on LinkedIn. This episode is absolute gold!
LOVE the ‘Dear Son’ approach.
Only made it halfway (lacking the superhuman no sleep gene) but already can’t wait to get stuck into the rest.
Thank you Chris and Jay!
I simply love how Jasmin makes very complex stuff super simple on LinkedIn.
Thank you for bringing him on Chris.
The generosity between two passionate creators was such a joy and honor to watch ❤
Now it us time to implement ❤
-Hook and rehook..
-Clear call to action in the title
-Retention
-Inbound
-Community
-Comment daily 20+ (my goal 😅)
-Post daily (daily practice)
-Portfolio
(I need to get that portfolio together--could it be paired with or become a pitch deck?)
🎉Thanks again.
Which 3 are the most important to you? So much knowledge but what 3 strike you as most powerful?
@@timbukstu9861 I should have taken notes.. it's been over a month.. what about you, please refresh me
@timbukstu9861 the following up on comments and adding value - I like the daily practice too.
This is a single excellent 2024 LinkedIn masterclass for us viewers. I went to Jasmin's profile and I was already following him. I was aware he is so good but this video reinforces it !! This is gold. Has evergreen concepts. I literally took notes on my book.
Thanks for sharing!
The amount of times Jay used Chris’s name speaks to the emotional intelligence and care for who is talking to. Amazing interview! 👏🏽
Thank you
I just finished watching the entire video! That's unheard of in today's world, right? Marketers are always telling me that no one will watch a video for more than 30 seconds, but here I am, on the other side of a 98 minute-long video; and I loved every minute! So engaging, very entertaining, so many actionable take-aways! I'm so glad the UA-cam algorithm decided to put this video in front of me.
Don't tell anyone, but I think I'm going to watch it again. 🤫
So much learned, please bring Jas back!
Here's what I learned:
Use the "Dear Son" Approach -
Write to a specific person, it humanises your posts. It's not about writing to millions, it's about writing to one person. It should have a lovely, friendly tone of voice. It's a great way to build community. Make sure it's actionable.
I loved this episode. ESP with Jay. He has this warm spirit and he makes one feel like they’re being spoken to directly
Two brilliant brains with open hearts and a unique perspective share genuine, heartwarming, fun, and educational conversations. This is odd but this captivating podcast goes into my top ten list - and Jay has gained a new follower:-) Thanks 🙏❤💪🧠
Wow, thank you!
I had noted the same thing regarding commenting on LinkedIn!
I'd struggled to figure out LinkedIn for ages so gave up.
Then I came back summer 2023.
I wasn't posting much content, but I was genuinely interacting with other people's posts (comments) and suddenly folks are interacting with my profile and following.
However...
Jay's tip on not commenting to the original author = 🔥
I have push notifications switched on for a select few creators on LinkedIn so I can comment early 🥇
This interview is an instant classic. The message, the value and the vibes all combined into one great mini copywriting masterclass. 🙂👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for Bringing Jasmin on Chris.
I love his simple approach to build on LinkedIn.
You're very welcome!
Thank you, @duv.metellus
I totally agree; for me time to engage more with Linkedin;
Loving this real talk conversation. Jasmin's approach to LinkedIn is simple and easy to follow for anyone.
I was only able to catch bits and pieces of this video while preparing dinner. WOW, I will have to watch this one a couple of times, there is SO MUCH TO LEARN, I absolutely love it.
Single parent, trying to find that professional balance, you guys are speaking me. This content is exactly what I needed today. Thank you!
Best of luck.
Ahh, you guys!
Education with heart
- and no egos.
Thank you both
I don't use LinkedIn much yet, but my goal is to do so in 2024. I am going to be trying these key strategies: 1) Hook and Re-Hook 2) 1:3 Comment and Reply 3) Share Value & Build Community First!! Thanks Jasmin & Chris! You guys deliver. This one really made an impact!
You got this!
Learned so much about writing for LinkedIn in this video than many courses I bought. Thank you Jasmin and Chris.
This was fantastic. Applying these right away.
He’s a master.
Helping businesses build brands and brands build communities
Thank you
Thank you!
Am I the only one whose clients would lose it if they saw I had time to comment on social media 50 times a day?
Your client is toxic lol. I’d recommend closing the relationship.
How? If so, their sales are likely worse than yours...
I'm glad my husband shared this with me. I need to do better in writing consistently with the aim of sharing value.
You see that commenting intelligently. It works so well. But it takes a lot of discipline to do. I should get back on it.
And yeah, i need to optimise my LinkedIn profile.
Thank you so much for sharing this!
His smile is enough to keep you watching the video.
"From great responsibility comes great Power" this hit me hard. I am starting my own platform with the knowledge I have built from you guys and other creators, and I got to say I appreciate all this value information. Movement is my love language, that I will be sharing to the world.
Best Vibes, guys!
Thank you Chris, for bringing in Jasmin. It is a such a value packed podcast. Got some great pointers on copywriting, hooks and LinkedIn content strategy.
The amount of valuebombs dropped in the convo is astounding!
Thank you to two of my favorite voices in business!
Thanks for watching.
Means a lot! Thank you @4Mulator
Jasmin is a beast.
This was a $10K masterclass for free.
Thank you both.
The specific profile roast was the best part.
Appreciate you, @growproduct !
The fact that it was FREE to watch this video is MasterFull. Thank you 🙏🏽
This is one of THE BEST LinkedIn class which I took, full packed with insights and no BS, Thank You So Much Chris & Jay.
Our pleasure!
This conversation has been invaluable. I am going to listen again, take notes and implement.
Thanks Chris and Jasmin.
Inspiring and constructive are only two of a hundred positive words I could use to describe this talk between humble giants. It's is one of the best synergy I have crossed, in ages, on UA-cam. Thanks!
Thank you
I am new to linkedin. This Session was just amazing. I really came here to understand how to learn Optimize my profile - as I wanted to move out of my current organization. Really grateful for what I learnt here 🙏
This is so so great.
A lot of this is about being human, even as business people, even as brands. Know thyself and share that. Brilliant.
Jay my entire life my family thought I was weird for sleeping almost 24 hours every other month. I would sleep after everyone and wake before everyone. Finally found someone just like me.
Absolutely agree with the take on TEXT ONLY. I did this as a practice even though I'm a branding designer, I wanted to improve my writing skills and thats what I did in a month returned back to doing carousels and statics. MY GOD its such a big difference on engagement and even just the quality your posts will be. I've now picked up Threads and I'm loving the writing process.
What's your LinkedIn?
I was really blown away by this podcast. I've learned so much from this UA-cam video. Thank you Chris and Jay!
I fuckin needed it. Chris Do, you are King 👑
Way to go in 2024 is after watching this Podcast ❤🎉
Gonna watch this tonight and boom making my resolution by Sunday 🙂
Pray for me.
Goal: $15k/Month
Like this post if you have same sort of goal.
You got this!
His eyes never lie. Great dad ❤
Thank you for all the tips. Got my LinkedIn open fixing and moving things around and pretty glad for what it looks like now.
SO love the "Dear son" approach!!! That's amazing!!!
My top 2 fav creators together, woohooo! 🎉
Kindness, empathy & authenticity is what I've learned from both of you! ❤
Such awesome content just in the last 30 minutes alone. The writing to the son to keep the familiarity/brand was new and is so good! Too much awesome stuff. What a great guy that is open to sharing his findings.
It was excellent.
I believe I have rewatched this like 5 times already. Thanks for all the amazing content Chris! And thanks to Jay for all the massive advice given here!
Thank you x 5
This was good stuff. My take aways. 1. Update my Linkedin Headline, 2. Write in simple terms to that one person you care gor. 3. Engage on othe people's post with comments. Thank You!
😊 I learned to optimize my LinkedIn profile while listening to this podcast. ❤
Jasmin is phenomenon. Thank you for this Chris!
Omg….. every second in this conversation taught me many things to improve with my understanding of telling my story in a better way. Thank you both❤
Many thanks from a grateful viewer here, Jay and Chris! My first few "new and improved and 2-3 line ONLY" LinkedIn posts are driving traffic to my e-commerce site... will re-watch this video as the LinkedIn marketing push advances here in January! Keep up the fantastic work, you two! :)
Nice work!
Loving this grind,@@thefutur!
Great call to get Jasmin on, I've been following him for over a year on Linkedin. His commenting game has been spot on.
This was an amazing interview. Jay is incredible. Tried just two tips I heard on this video and I more than doubled my LinkedIn post. 😮
Whoop! So happy to hear this, @conniefisaacs. Keep it up!
Fantastic!
Pure gold, this video saved me around 1300$
Awesome!!
Life changing insight! Loved this video! Thanks so much for dropping so much knowledge for free! I’m truly grateful! God bless!
Just hopped back on LinkedIn about 48 hours ago. This interview was perfect timing! I will definitely be re-watching it when I met a place to really take notes!
Glad it was helpful!
Can u share notes with me
This might be the best video on linkedin strategy.
And the one I totally needed. Thank you so much!
This is gold, only halfway through but my mind is ablaze with ideas on how we can take these principles and utilize them to form a perfect script for video formats as well. Brilliantly put, keep up the great work.
Glad I listened the whole way through. It wasn't until the very end that you drop the "Edit Anything" extension. I just added that and this helps me speed up my demos by a lot!!! lol. Thanks! I came here because I am gearing up to fix my linked in as I never spend anytime there. This video really helped!
My first UA-cam video for this year. Great start for 2024! Thank you, @thefutur
Happy new year!
It really feels illegal to watch such valuable content for free. Thanks for this!
If you ever happen to be around Switzerland let me know, appreciate the content and the opportunity to devour knowledge.
Thanks Chris
I’ll be in Zurich in 2 weeks! @felipesarmiento9979
Will do.
This is one of the best interviews I've watched on this channel so far. There are some valuable insights here, great show!
Wow, thank you! Why do you say so?
Thank you so much @diego_mery
I agree with everyones comments and the take-aways, there are so so many of them. One that I have not seen as yet and that resonated with me was at 42:33 "Helping Left-Brainers think Right." I completely got this straight off the bat. It made sense and resonated for me and my rep. system. This was a clear example that we can not, and never will be everything to every one, in all of this, our voice must remain our own and unique voice. There is so much vanilla out there in peoples posts that the flare up in Chris's Headline would stop me scrolling to find out more. I appreciate this insight deeply.
Wow!! One of the best best interview/podcast I’ve experienced… apart from the bomb value.. this one had the feels and so much genuine love… loved it! Amazing!!
Thank you
This was so helpful! I plan to use these strategies to grow my linkedin in 2024! Thanks Jay and Chris!
Absolute pleasure!
What a super insightful LinkedIn Masterclass. Jay's warm outreach approach works, we're all people and like to build real relationships first.
Jay loved your positive energy. It was so good to discover how you make your business work around being a working parent.
LinkedIn can be a truly social networking platform for building your business - this interview will hopefully inspire many to ditch their fear of posting and commenting.
Chris as always asked all the best questions and it's so cool to see him changing his profile copy and banner straight away.
Thank you Nicole. I ask for advice. It would be silly for me to ignore it.
@NicoleOsborneWunderstars called commenting on LinkedIn a super power. If two pros are saying the same thing, they must be on to something. But I like Jay's formulaic approach with outlined step to do this well. Amazing!!
This video is RICH with useful info. Thanks for sharing.
Wow what a Masterclass! Thank you for sharing this high value information. Greetings from Guatemala 🇬🇹
I post twice a day. Morning and late afternoon. Comment on between. All my business in the last 4 or 5 years has been inbound from LinkedIn. Good video. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing!
I loved the "Dear Son" approach. I definitely plan to use that with my granddaughter! I have been wondering how I could simplify my writing for second language learners. Writing to a 9-year-old is the perfect solution!
Love the application here. One more approach is you could load it into chatgpt, Bing, or Bard and ask it to reword for second language learners.
Don’t take what it says, but understand what it meant and you can build your own framework from it.
Best of luck to you!
This is the single best video I’ve seen on the topic. Immediate follow and I’ll be using this as my playbook for some time to come. Thank you!
Thank you 😊
Thank you for this podcast. I'm going to use all strategies for my social media platforms!
Here we are engaging with you guys for gratuitous visibility of our own company account :-) This social media thing is awesome.
learned a lot from Jay, especially in this session, he beak down the algorithm and linky strategies very well.
The content here on the futur is real gold and this channel needs to have millions of more subscribers. Thanks for this amazing video explaining how to navigate LinkedIn
Thank you. Tell all your friends to watch and sub.
@@thefutur I always do
So many great tips from Jasmin here! Gotta run. I'm off to buy Pocket Full of Do
Great advice! I love the Dear Son approach. Thanks for sharing this.😊
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, guys for a very inspiring conversation, I am new to Marketing and has learned SO MUCH today. Thanks..
Jasmin is the reason why I began creating content on LinkedIn! Good video!!!
I'm loving all the LinkedIn content on this channel. As much as I throw up in my mouth when I see corny posts I'm getting to grips with how important it is for business.
Avoid the corny posts.
Great talk from Jasmin, he's well thought in LinkedIn Strategy. I love how he writes for one person, i.e his son. It really emphasis the concept to write for 1 reader.
If The Futur is planning a ": Tips from a copywriter expert" talk,
then here's few guests that new copywriters look up to:
- David L Duetsch
- Gary Bencivenga
- Drayton Bird
I stumbled across both of you for the first time today and it's some of the most valuable content and information I've heard in years about Linkedin. Well Done!
Welcome to the Futur
Naaaaaa! This is so good! I'm at 35:31 thereabout where Jay is speaking on the choice of 4 by 5 images and wow!!!!
It's funny that I didn't know what Chris offered until I watched this video. Jay is right about being clear regarding the value we provide and ensuring it's placed where everyone can see it.
How long you been watching our channel?
@@thefutur for a while but not religiously. I do love Chris content and consume it whenever it pops in my screen. I almost attended an event with him in the Philippines this year, sadly that event was cancelled last minute.
The light bulb moment in this video is even though I watched numerous hours of Chris content, I was never effectively directed to wants to sell me. The reality check is that most of us are guilty of doing the same mistake in our marketing.
Simple and easy to follow gold. Everything takes time and effort and I appreciate you two sharing the blueprint. I wish you continued success.
