- Stardust is a 1974 British musical drama film directed by Michael Apted and starring David Essex, Adam Faith, and Larry Hagman. The film is the sequel to the 1973 film That'll Be the Day, which introduced the characters of Jim MacLaine and his street-smart friend Mike Menary. Stardust chronicles Jim's rise and fall as an international rock star during the 1960s and early 1970s, with Mike as his personal manager. The cast featured a number of well-known pop/rock performers, including Essex, Faith, Keith Moon, Marty Wilde, Dave Edmunds, Paul Nicholas, and Edd Byrnes.
One of the best British films about the 'Rollercoaster' of rock n roll fame. Great continuation from the even better 'That'll Be The Day' Film. Dave Edmunds and the Stray cats!! Who would have guessed by the late 70s early 80s that Rockabilly train was coming. All great stuff.
I play this sound track ALL the time. I saw this movie back in 1973 and went back several times to re-see it. Have video I recorded around 1978 from pay TV and watch it once a year. Rip brother.
Loved this movie That’ll be the Day! I’ve looked everywhere for both of them to know luck
RIP Michael
