The only issue I have is that some of the shots linger a little too long in the fan animation, but they'll probably tighten that up as they go. Seriously impressive that it was all animated by one person. One thing to note that this version of Guts is going to be much darker going forward almost to the point where you start to question if he's even a good person anymore. But for the most part he still doesn't like seeing children hurt. Arche said they're aiming to put out an episode once every 3-4 months and they're looking to have around 8 episodes for the season according to their FAQ video they put out. Also, that fairy is Puck. He's a good boy. We don't disparage our chestnut.
If u plan to watch the golden age trilogy movies then I would suggest watching berserk memorial edition which is the movies cut into 13episodes with extra added scenes from the manga that even 1997 wasn't included
There is a lot more story continuation in Berserk manga, and although the creator Kentaro Miura died, the manga is still being developed by people that were close to him.
Pack is actually one of my favorite characters in the show. He is pretty funny in the manga but in this arc he is more serious which also good to see. But he have some pretty cool jokes
I keep telling this to everyone. Just go for the manga. You can't believe how emotional the manga is. It changed my world view. You should read from the very first chapter. The 97 anime missed out on an ENTIRE ARC! Just read the manga. I finished all 41 volumes in a week. That's how GOOD IT WAS. Read the manga and give reviews about every volume. It will be great.
They said they are making 8 episodes and if it gets enough attention they will do more, I heard that next episode it gonna be a reimagining of the first episode of season 1, of the snake demon, but it will be more Manga accurate

So I know people hate on the 2016-17 anime that skips the lost children arc and only covers the middle of the Conviction arc but, it’s honestly better than nothing and worth the watch if you love Berserk! Yes it’s not perfect and some things are changed around but the main plot and story is the same and I’ve really grown to love it. It basically follows what happens right after the eclipse and really gets you ready for the rest of the story. Definitely recommend watching it!

The manga begins with the Black Swordsman Arc (a small part of which is shown in the first episode of the Berserk 97 anime). In fact, you will be continuing chronologically from where you left off in the anime, and there is so much content skipped in this arc that it cannot be covered in just one episode. The same applies to the Golden Age Arc. The Golden Age consists of 100 chapters in the manga, and many important events for both Guts and the universe that are not told in the anime are skipped. Anyway, I hope you start reading the manga and create content about it. Watching Berserk with you has been an enjoyable journey for me. Thank you for everything.
Oh, let me also give you some information about how the manga is progressing after Kentaro Miura's passing. If I remember correctly, a few months after Miura's death, Koji Mori (the author of Holyland and Suicide Island) released a message stating that while Miura was drawing the Eclipse Event, he told Mori how the series would progress and end. Mori mentioned that he wanted to look at Berserk as the last memory left by his closest friend and end it properly. For about 10 chapters now, Berserk has been continued by Mori. While the early chapters have fewer dialogues and are not as detailed and breathtaking visually as Miura's work, I think it has reached a very good point. You can tell that they want to conclude the series properly but are not rushing it. After deciding to continue the series, Koji Mori, due to a promise he made to Miura in their youth, wrote and drew a one-shot manga called "Miura Memorial," depicting their 40-year friendship and Miura's final moments. I highly recommend it to Berserk fans who haven't read this one-shot manga. I've digressed quite a bit. In short, Berserk continues and is in good hands.
i strongly believe Berserk took some inspiration from Evil Dead and Hellraiser. i see several interesting parallels between those films and Berserk. I think if u are coming from the 90’s anime and go into the manga, youll be slightly thrown off by how it starts as straight up a horror or like really dark fantasy. where as the 90’s anime focused on golden age which was primarily the affairs of the kingdoms, the war, and in general more grounded in realistic setting.

You guys should react to the Berserk Millennium Falcon game movie edited by Antoff7. It is a video game but he made a movie out of it with just the cutscenes but the game itself was released in 2004. It is amazing!

To be honest if you don't have a problem with the fanmade episodes like this then there isn't really a reason for you to avoid the 2016 TV series. Yes it "sucks" compared to 1997 and the trilogy movies but so do the fanmade ones lol. You seem to be really invested in the world so why not give an episode or two of 2016 a shot? Then drop it if it's not for you.
it doesn't suck compared to 1997, it suck compared to anything, like 70% of manga is cutted, it looks bad, they moved characters like isidoro and scherke to episode 1 for some reason, looks horrible and is just one of the worst anime to ever exist

This fan animation, it looks good. But that's it. They did a bad job with writing the story. I am so confused about why they did not copy the manga. The 1997 anime copied the manga. Even the 2016/2017 anime copied the manga. But these "fans" think they are too good. They want to make their own version. Bad idea.

Koji Mori wrote Holyland and it has one of the best endings I've ever seen in manga. So I think Berserk is in safe hands.

We thought about slow pace as the reference to the original 1997 show, which also had a lot of frames which could be shortened or deleted
