@voldmerot no hate or disrespect, but that is exactly why i drop the manga. it's a great manga for sure, but knowing that guts probably Will never be able to beat them in a fight or just in general, makes it not very compelling for me.
@@Youseewhat-c3z yeah if you think about it a lot of popular stories like have villains that are far superior to the protagonist. Star wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter...etc.
You might have forgotten it, but the Idea of Evil' "heart" appearance is simply its core. When Griffith asked if this is what God looks like, it replied that what he is seeing is simply his core. Not to mention the "heart" of the Idea of Evil is similar to the Sea God's heart in appearance
I think it's important to mention that the Idea of Evil is _sort of_ non-canon. It appeared in a single chapter in the original monthly publication, but that chapter has been excluded from every collected volume, and the Idea has never been brought up since. Miura had second thoughts about introducing a single almighty God into the story so he purposefully left it out, although he never officially marked the chapter as non-canon.
I like it’s inclusion. I think it adds the last layer of confusion and etherealness to the world of berserk. That chapter with Griffiths soul being transported to some other-worldly realm with hell all around cements the feeling that there won’t be any victory for Guts. It is something he literally cannot fight, it is a concept (being born of thoughts and feelings), and its influence cannot be tampered.
@@heckogoop4318I think making every single choice Griffith has ever made being programed by the Idea of Evil takes the weight of his decision to sacrifice the band of hawk
When asked why Miura had it excluded from future printings, he was quoted as saying it gave away too much too soon, implying that it's still a canon entity, just one he meant to rework into the story later on
One of my favorite God Hand Members has to be Conrad. Just like you said, dude doesn’t talk, but the lines he does have is that much more intense. The way he loudly proclaims “Bring the child TO THE ALTAR!!!!!” Is just so terrifying! 🤩🤩🤩
Void - Edgier part of Tzeentch (I know everything, I am so powerful) Slan - Slaanesh (she's even called Slan lmao) Ubik - Scheming part of Tzeentch (I'm gonna manipulate you like no other) Conrad - Nurgle Griffith/Femto - Be'Lakor before his damnation by the chaos gods Idea of Evil - Chaos undivided So um..... eventually.... Guts - Khorne ?????????
Skull knight would be closer to khorne, that's his thing. Guts objective is distancing himself from the god hands, albeit he is failing miserably in that regard, so it all goes back to Griffith.
I don't know if Berserk took inspiration from Warhammer, but the names are references to books: Conrad: Roger Zelazny's *And Call Me Conrad* Ubik: Philip K. Dick's *Ubik* Slan: A. E. van Vogt's *Slan*
Theory: The god hand sre not only lying, but they are being lied to. As villains, that's par for the course, but let's go into it. They're not immortal or omnipotent. Guts was able to hurt Slan and Void's act of protecting himself indicates that he doesn't want to be attacked directly. We are also told that god hands go to hell when they die, meaning that their death is a real possibility. The idea of evil's goal is for souls to go to hell. Whether demons kill or are killed, the loser goes to hell. If a god hand member is threatened, the idea of evil has no plans of saving him/her. They're just as expendable as any apostle. Another point: If fate is so absolute, why must the god hand work so hard to enforce it. The answer? It's not. Without their constant and interference, events would play out very differently. They just want people to think that. The idea of evil understands causality and is somehow so absurdly intelligent that it can predict the future, but free will is still a factor. People can upset its plans because they have done so in the past. Guts and Skeleton Knight did not act "according to script", so the god hand have had to adjust their schemes to compensate. "Do as thou will" is a myth. Demons work for the idea of evil and are arguably less free than they were prior to transforming. The demons also haven't lost their humanity as much as they'd like to think. Despite their power and grotesque appearance, they've retained all of their desires, fears, and personal weaknesses. The identity of "demon" is just a way to bury their guilt. They're slaves who are told that they're free and commit acts of evil because they believe that nobody is coming to punish them. As we see time and time again, justice finds them. Griffith, ironically, has guaranteed that he'll never achieve his dream. For him, having a kingdom meant freedom and answering to nobody. Instead, he has damned himself to being #6 when he really wants to be #1.
It’s highly debatable if Void was originally human. You can say for certain every other godhand member was, but Void it is uncertain. There’s a big theory that Void was the first demon and as such as, has no human counterpart. The theory says that he began existing as the antithesis to the one human King and that Void gained the support of the four elemental lords to bring him down. You can even take this further and say maybe Void was once the human king and therefore is using Griffith to gain such means.
RIP Miura. Too bad we will never know the backstory of these interesting and pure evil monsters except for Griffith. I heard that someone close to Miura is continuing the manga but it’s still going to be different compared to Miura writing and drawing it himself

its impressive for biengs that can bend space, teleport, commands domains and dimentions to tear through armor... Also good thing in besrserk is they kicked out Korn, because there is nothing mysterious or scary about him, he should be a greater demon at best. And Tzeentch is way too overpowered so its a good idea to spit his powers. Also the idea to fight and win against omnipotent, omnipresent and immortal beings is kinda dumb but also attractive, thats why chaos gods can't ever fight - they just can't meet each other, meybe eventually Tzeentch will swallow all of them.
