How do you know how big to make the squares to cut the side and four triangles . Love watching your videos

Sandy, thanks for the question; glad you are enjoying the videos. As you can see from the videos, everything starts with a square in the middle with strips on the side. If you are following one of our patterns, we tell you in the directions the size of squares and strips to make. Then the different ways you trim with the Square in a Square ruler, you get the different triangle units (which we call Options). If you have a pattern from a book, magazine, etc that you want to make, you can convert everything over to our method using the charts in our Reference books. Here is a link to the main Reference book bit.ly/referencevol1

Love your videos. I just found you. Where can I buy the square in a square? I think after watching your video, that that is why I never had good luck with flying geese or thr square in a square. Keep up the terrific job you do, it's great.

Sandy, here is a good way to get started. The ruler comes packaged with a "starter book" called Quick & Easy Quilts. On page 18 start with the Constellation quilt. Pick out 3 colors like the picture on the left with good contrast. Just follow the directions there and you will learn 2 important ways to trim similar to the video Ohio Star; you will learn Option 1 square in a square and Option 3 flying geese. As you work on these two main Options, pay attention to the different ways to trim. Once you see how easy it is, you will be ready to progress on; I would recommend the main reference book - link is here bit.ly/referencevol1 Let me know how it is going and contact me if you have questions. You will be amazed at the speed and accuracy. email is info@squareinasquare.com or phone 817-605-0003 office or text. Thanks, Jodi
