"Gotta have opposites, light and dark and dark and light, in painting. It’s like in life. Gotta have a little sadness once in awhile so you know when the good times come. I'm waiting on the good times now."
Just in case any of you wanted this to hit even harder... This was recorded shortly after Bob's wife had died.
Why must you do this
😢
NUU KAREN DIED
😣
NO OMG WHY DID YOU TELL ME
2:40 laura smiling bc she knows she's gonna get to hit her pen 😂😂
Its so painful to watch...
@@gonryuki733 right? Tablet abuse is a serious matter.
Well if you're not beating the devil out of it, then your not really following along with Bob.
@@xjunkxyrdxdog89 Not if you have money... wich many do not have... like me
You know😂😂
When bob said that her equipment might be different to his, I’m sure he had no idea that we’d have this amazing technology
I’m sure he would’ve loved it- RIP Bob Ross
I don't think he would have been a big fan of it. There's no brush to beat the devil out of.
@@bloodguzzler true, true. But you can beat the devil out of your drawing pad 😂
i mean there where drawing tablets back in his days but ofcourse they werent as sophisticated as now (screen tablets werent a thing)
Great painting! I was lucky enough to meet Bob Ross what a fantastic gentle human being.
Wow that must have been so cool! I'm jealous ;)
Your ability to observe the video and pick the perfect color is INSANE
thanks so much!
I like these digital version of the Bob Ross videos. I watched all the Bob Ross original stuff decades ago. I wish you had the time to describe how you choose brushes and other techniques to do these drawings.
yeah
@@maarcoo97 Stellar comment there mate! Honestly, bravo! xD
Me too.
amazing as always :) I am amazed by how many tricks or techniques Bob Ross has. One swipe of a brush or a blade and poof a whole side of a mountain all textured and natural-looking... That is just an experience level I cannot fathom of having like him.
I love it when she looks back at the camera and smirks. She is so cute 😊
Emily Arriaga oh garsh!! thank you!
I'm new to digital art and it is amazing to watch you at work. I miss the smell of turpentine also, but this is past being the the wave of the future. The future is here now, thanks to artists like you. Thank you.
😂😂😂 when she turns around and makes faces at the camera
Her personality is literally so freakin cute and she is gorgeous and talented and smart GOALS MUCH?????
oh my gosh you are too kind!!
@@lulusketches I only speak the truth!!!
@@lulusketches thx im verrry nice
Fallon, you took the words right outta ma mouth! Seriously, I was going to say the same thing but you coined it perfectly. Thank you!
She is beautiful and a great artist you are right
2:40 Pen be like: “Uuuhh, Laura, why are you smiling like tha-..... Oh no, not THAT again!! Don’t you dare!!!”
Very nicely done Laura. Excellent rendition considering the difference in tools & media. And the fact that you're painting left-handed deserves props too ! :)
I followed this with acrylic paint, it's cool to see all the different mediums for the same painting!
I've seen both of these Bob Ross videos of yours, and they're the only videos of yours UA-cam has ever recommended to me
the thing with bob ross is .. he was basically doing ASMR also
Surely someone has created Bob Ross brushes for Photoshop by now?
And a function to beat the devil out of them :)
Was inspired by your last video to follow a Bob ross tutorial with my own digital painting. Had a lot going on personally so I didn't finish it. But I had a blast.
Thanks so much for these videos!
It's always fun watching you paint. Somehow seeing you react to Bob Ross while mimicking his painting elements is especially fun. This episode of his show was filmed soon after his wife had just died, hence his "waiting on the good times now" comment, which even now, is tough to hear, and it seems like it might have taken you by surprise while he was talking about contrasting paint values. Your snack break gave you and me something in common. I sometimes go places and sketch digitally while enjoying lunch or a bit of popcorn. Your brush that I'm most curious about is the one you use to mimic his pallet knife. I think it's really cool that, even as a seasoned professional artist, you're also a Bob Ross fan, although his main TV audience on PBS was amateur painters and people like me, who just loved watching him paint.
I really enjoyed this video. Her laugh and positivity is nice to see. I like very much when she looks at the camera and laughs.
My wife, who cares nothing about Photoshop, watched the last one with me twice, it was so much fun. Thanks for doing a second one!!
thank you for watching! glad you guys enjoyed!!
That moment at 10:45. "Im waiting on the good times now".... Well, wasnt expecting for this to make me sad. Dang it Bob!
If Bob could see this and see how well his techniques translate into today's technology, I'm positive he'd be very impressed. You did an amazing job!
Watching Bob Ross paint is free therapy.
He was a master of landscapes. Still watch reruns of his show. ❤️🙂
The clouds, trees and water are amazing. 👍😁
Bob Ross was a gem of a human being.
That painting turned out wonderful, just like Bob's.
you "beating the devil" out of your pen is my favorite bit. the smile before you did it was hilarious.
alwaysamazes me how fast bob ross works.. when you watch it it doesnt seem fast as he has a calming effect. but when you try to follow him along you get behind a lot and need to pause and catch up... even if you work with the real paint like he does
❤ The Jazz Accompaniment!
🎶🖌🎵🖌🎶🖌
Laura your smile captures my heart! You are beautiful and your work is wondrous!
This is my new favourite UA-cam video. I love watching your paint along with Bob Ross videos. I paint with my dog on my lap too. I love the wonderful bond you share with Mabel. This was pure joy to watch, thank you ❤️
Bob paints with a squirrel in his pocket, Laura with a frenchie in her lap...
Laura: "These babies are very durable!"
*Proceeds to smack the living daylights out of the Cintiq*
Me: *almost has a heart attack because I am too broke to ever afford one.*
Oof
Look into the huion kamvas line. Not as fully featured, but they have the same level of quality and are a fraction of wacom prices.
@@xjunkxyrdxdog89 I was actually thinking of getting a huion as an upgrade to the pad I currently have.
Hahaha same😂😂
The cheaper Wacom's that are like $5-600 are fantastic and almost just as good if not the same. Still not inexpensive by any means, but more affordable.
The future robot overlords will remember her actions.
Photoshop following Bob Ross... that was an achievement!!! Well Done!!!
Man, my dad was right! I did learn a ton watching Bob Ross paint! I gotta go back and watch his series. Thank you for opening my eyes to this resource!!
Your painting is great as always and happy to see the mabel recovering 😁😁
thank you!!
@@lulusketches I also want to work at Disney, it's really one of my goals 🙌
"I'm waiting on the good times now" The feels doesn't begin to cover it. This video was a godsend
Amazing Work!
Sup James.
Omylord
OK. So honestly, the finished product was pretty fucking epic. You manged to get the brush strokes down digitally. Mad props!
I like your version better Lauren because the whites on the digital media are brighter and almost glowing. It strangely make it feel happier and positive.
LAURA IS THE GOOOOAAAAAAAATTTTTTT!!!!! ONCE AGAIN KILLED IT!!!!!! Thank you for this video! i loved it!
thank you! 😂
The last Bob Ross tutorial is how I found you, and I've enjoyed your videos since. I'm glad to see this one (and I hope it doesn't get removed like the last one was). Thanks so much for all of your hard work on your channel.
thank you so much! :) and it wasn't removed, it's still here! ua-cam.com/video/XAHHUWY-Jxg/v-deo.html
Bob Ross isn't a master at painting, he's discovered a new level of art enlightenment that no one else has seen
This is so awesome . I love those vids.
Yo I think ur eye fell off?
Had' to watch the sequel after seeing the other and this turned out pretty good too! Loved' seeing the sequel to the pen bashing as well!
OMG YES!!!!! FINALLY ANOTHER ONE
Really glad I chose this video as my decompression video for the night, it was so relaxing! ❤️
pretty sick..good job..Ross was a master at landscape no doubt.just so effortless..
this video makes me feel like digital painting is accessible to me
I woke up late today, but still took an extra 15 minutes to watch this video. I love watching you paint in order to psyche myself up for a day of painting 💕
Another great video Laura, it must be so difficult to follow what he is doing when you have to change all the settings rather than the angle of the brush or just letting the amount of paint fade on the paper etc . It's a fantastic job you have done and I just wonder what Bob would make of this technology I would love to see what he could do with it.
Loved watching his series and marvelling at what he was producing so effortlessly.
Keep up the wonderful vids. By the way your dog is a star.
Tough to do the dabbing technique digitally. This really shows the limitations of digital painting in terms of irl brushes and knives.
That's not a limitation of going digital. She is using Adobe Photoshop. That's a program that is perfect for editing photos and drawing/colouring digitally. It is however not designed to emulate real media, like working with Acrylic paint or drawing with charcoal.
In a case like this, it would be better to use a program like Corel Painter. It allows you to have ready made brushes that behave like real ones and a pallette, where you can mix colour, like you would if you used real paint.
Looks beautiful!
How Mabel loves you and doesn't want to let you continue your painting... so cute ! I'm surprised to see that you didn't hit your stylus on your Cintiq as much as the first "Following Bob Ross Tutorial" video.
Nice video and beautiful painting, I need to learn how to make beautiful backgrounds as yours ! I should practice for that. Anyway, it really inspires me, thank you so much to share what you do, it encourages me to keep drawing and do art as I want and hope to improve myself again and again.
NIce digital verison of Bob Ross painting!
Bob Ross gives me the happy feels. No matter what kind of day you are having, watching Bob makes everything somehow better. 🥰🥰🥰
I learned more from one episode of Bob Ross than I did in an entire year of art class in my school! Teacher was not helpful. 🥺
Thank god for UA-cam and Bob Ross.
This is like the only time I've seen someone nail a Bob Ross tutorial. There was no secret, you just needed to be a pro first
Damn you transferred that style so well to digital! I dig it. :)
thank you!
Would love to see you or someone else make an animated movie with all Bob Ross backgrounds!
Friggin excellent job girl!
LOL @6:32! Mable is such a darling! I'm also left-handed, work digitally, and write a lot on my computer. For some reason my Frenchie, Uma, she loves to rest on my left arm. She ignores any right-arm alternative suggestions. . . but Frenchies are so cute, you just can't argue with them, hein?! I need to work on my landscape skills, so I love this tutorial. Thanks a bunch for the inspiration! Shall try painting to a Bob Ross tutorial, too, so I can overcome the "blank screen" fear syndrome when it comes to landscapes. This helps to know where to start and actually do it-with quite the skilled evergreen artist: Bob Ross-of course, love your work, too :).
That was fun. Laura could not be more adorable
Really looks good! Loved watching Ross too
0:56 close your eyes and just listen
"These babies are very durable"
*hits the so called baby*
I know I am late to this, but great work!. If Bob Ross where still with us, I am sure he would love to see this. He used to say, "You can almost paint with anything. All you got to do is practice."
Omg for some reason my brain didn’t register you had a new video out I just thought it was your old bob ross one 😭😭😭 I was missing you!!! This video is even better than the last imo, it’s a delight seeing your reactions to the little things he says!! 💖 and your painting turned out really gorgeous! I think he would have loved your art and this video a lot 🥺
angel tye thank you so much!! :)
I LOVED THIS VIDEO!!! I'm learning now how to do digital painting and the UA-cam showed me this video. You are awesome!!
*Me painting BG's watching Laura Painting BG's while watching Bob Ross painting BGs*
yessss!
Or commonly known as the Bob Ross Inception technique. You heard it here first :D
Tis why Art is so fuckin Awsome sauce. ! It literally can reach across time & space
Awesome job, Laura!
LOVE the haircut!
You are a great artist. And you have such a good little boy 🐶 🙏😊 I am Bob Ross fan and clearly you are too. Thank you!
You're amazing. You follow Bob Ross and I'll be following Bob Ross and you as my mentors. I love your videos. Love from India....
Beautiful.
I love this, i hope it becomes a full-blown series
3:19 "...the equipment that you use looks a little different from what I have. Its no different. It really is no different." - Bob Ross is speaking from the grave
I've been using Photoshop for 30+ years and I've NEVER seen anyone do this! Awesome!
I love when you do these Bob Ross painting tutorials they are awesome and funny. I do have question what bushes did you use?
Also, I'm glad to see Mabel is doing better and she enjoys watching you paint!
Lulu thank you for giving me tips and advise become an artist for animation I always dream to work in the Disney animation studio and I hope I learn more from you thank you so much
I was surprised you didn't have or make a textured brush for some parts, such as the snow effect on the side of the mountain. It was interesting to see you revert to your own style of working the issue. All in all, well done.
Awesome I love your art Thumbs Up
I love your take on this, but it just proved more so to me how much I prefer traditional painting to digital...ESPECIALLY in film.
This is all happy and cheerful. Show me some drama and follow along with a Florent Farges demo!
This is amazing!! I use a program called rebelle 4, it emulates oils and canvas it's so realistic it amazing!
Good job Laura! That's cool you do cartoon background because that what I love to do! I love the 50s and 60s style - like Looney Tunes or Hana Barbera. =) I have been following Bob Ross paintings since 2016. Now, it's kinda become trendy! lol Anyway, the only problem I have doing it digitally is the mountains. I can get the mountain shapes perfectly but never adding snow...just never seems right. I tried different brushes...and just never satisfied. lol
Fantastic!
LEFTY!!!!! WHOOOO
Obviously, there is long way that the digital brush need to go..
But, your tutorial videos are so helpful, thanks Laura!!
0:59 that scared me so much,I really thought the screen was going to break or something 😂😂, also very good viedeo ❤️👏🏻
A beautiful result.
Not bad! Good job on following along. I love to watch Bob Ross paint, it's relaxing to watch him and see how makes a blank canvas turn into something great...
This are like therapy, so much fun!
"Durable!" *pistol whips* hahaha.
POPCORN.
Unsurprisingly, your Bob-reactions are my Bob-reactions.
Ah, Bob. He makes me emotional, and your painting looked great. Yes, I just live-commented this vid. haha.
thank you Amanda!! 💖
Please do another one of these if/when you have the time. 😊
I loved watching your video (and the other one with Bob Ross again) I hope you will get to make more!!
It looks great! I love Bob Ross. If he were still alive, I'd love to see what he could do with digital art.
I've always wanted to try doing this, but I don't understand my brush tools enough to get the same effect as one would in using physical brushes. If you ever do a part three or even a stand-alone breakdown, I think I along with a few others here, would love to see how you choose/create brushes for this.
Also, I teared up at the whole light and dark segment. It hit me hard when Bob said, "I'm waiting on the good times now." Darn it, Bob, I feel those feels. I lost my grandmother, the lady who raised me when my mother stepped out of the door, a few months back and it has been a struggle to find those happy moments.
The amount of sass has me in stitches 😂
You are amazing and I love your interaction with the camera and your pupper.
2:43 She forgot to say "I just beat the devil outta it".
beautiful, and the painting is not bad either :-) lol all silliness aside, you are one talented woman
