Me too! I always imagine the vault boy wearing a snazzy suit doing an exaggerated walk down a 1950s suburban street when listening to this song, with the repeating backdrop just like in old 50s cartoons lol.
I normally just download a good quality version of the song then in audacity I attach a little equalisation to sound radio-ish, a few layers of reverb so it sounds like it might be echoing out of a casino and onto the strip, then I just low pass filter it which is what gives it that distant sound
