Excellent presentation. I like caramel empanadas but pineapple is my most favorite. Mother used to drizzle a glaze on her pineapple fried pies. She didn’t make empanadas per se, but I have had them.
I tried this recipe today & it was amazing 🤤 i moved from south Tex to ND & I miss my pan dulce 🥺 All i did was half the recipe that’s too much empanadas ☺️☺️ thanks for the recipe 🙏🏼🙏🏼
im sure the pineapple preserve is sweet and nice, but it's a little redundant to simply use good pineapple as a fiber filler for the jam. You can make the filling out of thickened pineapple with sugar and you are basically making a preserve (that already has the pulp). Check it out!
My mom’s made them for years, and I always thought it was too hard for me to do. But then I actually gave it a try and found that it wasn’t actually that hard 😅
I’ve never made non-dessert empanadas, so I actually don’t know if this type of dough would work. But please let me know how it goes if you give it a try! 😊
Krystal Nagel Sorry, there’s not really an estimated timing to look out for..it’s more on looking at the texture. The main goal is to reach the stage of the “sweat,” where the mixture becomes smooth and fluffy. Once, you’ve reached that stage, you can move on to the next step. It may take you a bit longer to reach that stage if you are doing this recipe by hand. But if you are doing it on a standing mixer, you should be able to reach that stage a lot faster. Hopefully this helps, sorry I couldn’t give you a time frame 😕
Are you mixing/kneading by hand or are you using a stand mixer? I found that when I’m doing it by hand, I only need 4 cups of flour. When I was doing it with a stand mixer, I required 5 cups of flour to get the dough working. You may need to add more flour if it is still not at a doughish consistency.
Will say on my run through, it may not be a good idea to stack the empanada flats on top of each other. Had a fun time trying to take them off of each other
I use this exact recipe. Love it. Grew up every holiday with these. My fav is the strawberry filled and the cinnamon and sugar is a must lol.
I love strawberry, are you willing to share your strawberry empanada filling recipe?
Found your recipe over the holidays and everyone loved them.
Those empanadas look very yummy 😋
Thank you, I’ve tried the recipe and they came out great for my very first time !
You’re welcome, glad you liked them! 😊
Oh wow that’s so awesome and looks so easy to make. Thank you for sharing!! 👍😊
Just found your channel, I’m going to make these for my son today he loves them with beef , potatoes, corn , tomatoes. !
Thanks for the video
Excellent recipe! BRAVO!

Hi. I just watched your video and i am excited to try the recipe. I have one question Could i use margarine instead of butter?
Oh wow! these look so good!!!
Thanks for showing me how to curl the edges properly.

Will try,Thank you
I’ve only had pumpkin and apple empanadas but these look REALLY GOOD!!! Can’t wait to give this recipe a try, thanks for sharing
I LOVE pumpkin empanadas too, but I’d have to say Pineapple filling is my favv!! 🤤 I will definitely enjoy some pumpkin empanadas in the fall tho! 🎃🍂
My favorite fillings are the pineapple & mango, caramel, and apple-cinnamon.
How do you prevent it from sticking when stacking the empanada after pressing?
Do you have any other fillings ? Like pumpkin and cherry? Can they be frozen after you make them?
Thank you!!!
My aunt usually covers the pineapple empanadas with normal sugar and the caramel ones with powdered sugar
At what temperature and for how long to bake ?
If I have leftover dough, can I save it for another day?
I definitely will have to try will update to see how it went !!
Can we use anything else to substitute the cream cheese?
Can this be rolled out rather then making dough balls?
hey i have a question! did you use 4 cups of flour or 5 cups ? If u used 5 did u just not show the other 1 cup on the side?
If you are mixing/kneading this by hand, you want to use 4 cups.
If you are doing this in a standing mixer, you will need 5 cups.
Hope this helps! 😊
Have you just used preserve as the filling?
I have, but it tends to leak a bit when it is baking.
Fruit pastry filling they sell it in Amazon Julio Tapia uses that filling on the recipe.
what can i use if i don’t have a stand mixer?
I’m actually mind blown I’ve always wondered how the robe thing was done 😂
My mom’s made them for years, and I always thought it was too hard for me to do. But then I actually gave it a try and found that it wasn’t actually that hard 😅
Should I use salted or unsalted butter
I use salted butter, I find that it doesn’t really make a difference 🙂
Thx.
Can I put the dough in the fridge and continue the next day?
I have never tried it, but if you do, please let me know how it goes 😊
Is it salted butter or unsalted butter
Can I use the same dough to make empanadas de camarón
I’ve never made non-dessert empanadas, so I actually don’t know if this type of dough would work. But please let me know how it goes if you give it a try! 😊
Roughly how long do you mix the butter and cream cheese mix?
Until u see the mixture letting out some juice or “sweat”
@@Acenet_Barron I understand that but do you have a time frame? 8 mins? 10 mins?

Why can't I get mine to form a nice clump of dough? I wanted to post a video but it wont let me.

I have a question about the caramel is that the only 2 ingredients you use to make it that color ?
Yes 😊

Next time rub some flour or cornstarch over them so they don't stick to each other :)
Shrimp!
I couldn't find the pineapple preserve in 10oz i found it in a 32oz what do i do
I would recommend using 2/3 of the jar for this recipe 😊 Hope this helps!
Thank you so much for the reply my hubby helped me out lol we used 2 cups and 1/4 cup it all add up to 20 oz in total
@@Acenet_Barron do i need to wait till there both golden for them to be ready
Krystal Lopez Just as long as it gets thick & doesn’t have a lot of juice 😊
When there in the oven lol sorry for not typing that so i have to wait till both are golden brown to take them out the oven
Oke
So you don't use sugar in your dough or baking powder either.
You don’t add baking powder ?
Nope, doesn’t need it 🙃
How many empanadas came out with this recipe?
About 60-70 empanadas 😊
Can I cut the dough recipe in half to make a smaller batch?
WHERE IS THE RECIPE????
You recipie is to big
