Uniforms (of which his costume is one) signal what the wearer’s role is. If you see someone in a police uniform, you expect certain kinds of behavior: If the officer pulls a gun and points it at someone running, it will likely mean something different to you then if the gun-holder wasn’t wearing that uniform. It's honestly so refreshing to see him like this. I don't think I've ever seen him this excited and interesting in a role he's played. Hope he gets to play the Batman for a long time.
Dude it's always great when these actor's actually read up on the IP they're stepping into. It shows a massive amount of respect for both the craft and the fans. And it shows in this film. The love and passion is all over the screen in this movie. Despite some plot issues, especially towards the end, it's easily one of the best Batman movies ever created.
Robert Pattinson has done a good job breaking away from "That guy from Twilight" - he was great in Tenet and even though it's quite early to say, I might be so bold as to say he's portrayed the best movie batman we've seen so far. He did feel like a detective, his voice didn't feel so forced, he felt like a good fit for the role.
Damn I kept thinking to myself during the movie "hey look it's Edward" and immediately after "shit I am the problem" and then "maybe that's why Bruce doesn't appear as much". Twilight will probably haunt him forever and that's a shame, but hey now he can say that he played a vampire (sorta) and a bat (sorta) lmao
It’s incredible to see a superhero actor, actually interested in superhero stuff!😂 This makes me even more excited for the movie knowing that Robert is a legitimate Batman FAN😂
This dude has one of the coolest hairstyles I've ever seen. Such a fun personality, too. Seems to me that Pattinson is finally getting his due respect!
What he's referring to as his suit had a mind if it's own, is in ego bruce is fighting between Bruce and Batman. And that batman is almost it's own entity wanting to consume Bruce. And in that comic you literally see the suit as it's own creature speaking to Bruce saying there is no longer a separation between the two. He is now batman and only batman. Bruce Wayne is now the character portrayed to the public while Batman is who he truly identified as. I think Robert has a good amount of knowledge on batman and we should just appreciate that. I'm 26 and I've been the biggest batman fan for the last 21 years of my life. I am absolutely ecstatic to see this interpretation of batman. As fans, let's just enjoy the fact that we get to see such a legendary character portrayed once more on screen.
In 90 percent of the stories out there, batman dresses up as a bat because he is trying to scare criminals. He doesnt dress up as a bat because he thinks the suit will devour him or the suit has a life of its own. That is batman 101. If you dont understand that about batman then what do you understand about batman?
@@sparshbansal6624 exactly, finally a Bruce-Batman relationship with a little more nuance. You should be glad that it’s not another tired iteration of “I dress as a bat to scare superstitious criminals” and is finally exploring the realty that Bruce‘s vision of the Batman is ALSO based in superstition. Why make a Batman story that’s like 90% of all other Batman stories, when you have the opportunity to create something daring and creative and new?
@@JackRabbit1612 As long as you admit this has nothing to do with the comic book batman. Secondly, what is the point of a comic book movie if it changes so much about a character that the movie counterpart doesnt even resemble the comic counterpart?

Robert Pattinson clearly know more about Batman than 99% of the viewing audience. I mean, be honest. How many people have actually read one Batman comic let alone five?
BTW There is so many better comics than the one he mentioned from the series "LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT" run . They must have given Robert a few titles to please the "nerds". They definitely used CGI to give Pattinson the build and muscles to pull off Batman. Because no one losses that much mass that quickly.
@@monotech20.14 inaccurate. It's not u heard of for one to lose both bulk and mass after obtaining it. In this situation, Pattinson, who is very slim and has openly talked about hating exercise, had to stick to an extreme lean protein (white fish and lemon) diet and daily workout routine. Once he finished filming I'm sure he immediately went back to his old lifestyle. Remember the movie completed filming back in the middle of 2021. That's plenty of time to lose whatever mass he gained.
The whole movie I kept being reminded of various Legends of the Dark Knight stories, especially one very explicit reference to the Venom arc. It's good to know the inspiration was this direct, because those are some of the best Batbooks out there.
I feel like before the film was finished, Pattinson was stiff. When they done the dc show to show off the teaser he came across like he didn't want to be there. I truly get press junkets must be so tiring but after the film has finished all his press interviews, solo or grouped, have been so great to watch. This man is going to be on the name of everyone's lips over the next few decades. Not just because of the batman but because he's a world class actor (and just so damn likeable)!
While Val Kilmer has always been my favorite Batman, Robert Pattinson is going to be amazing in this role. When you have Matt Reeves referencing the Ego comic and Rob referencing Shaman, the level of development for this version of Batman is next level! 1 week away!
Kilmer really was underrated, he honestly had the best voice along with bale in begins, and now Pattinson, love the calm whispery voice as opposed to the angry growl, always seemed much too try hard. Their voices are far creepier and threatening when they do the former.
@@airsir9559 I get the purpose of it but like, if the general idea and presence of batman isn't intimidating enough, I don't think a forced growly voice is going to push you over the edge of fear. I've always appreciated a subtle terror and prefer the calmer, whispier voice myself. It's more psychological to me than straight up aggression I guess.
I guess he figured out how to be a "detective and wear the batsuit because....Congratulations and Thank You Robert Pattinson....you have given us the best Batman yet.
If you haven't already, I can recommend that you read Zero Year by Scott Snyder. The movie draws inspiration from that comic, as well, and it's also a great story, too!
I still have the early run of "Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight", there were some great stories by rotating creative teams of writers and artists. Also, gotta at how RPatts pronounces "Shaman" as "Shame-man"!
It's said the Robert Pattinson, Charlie Cox, and Andrew Garfield became roommates in London. Knowing that, Rob reading the Batman comics doesn't seem surprising now, as both Charlie and Andrew also read the comics of both Daredevil and Spider-Man respectively for their roles! The three of them seem so similar to each other now.
Also, people should read these comics Robert says. Man these only reads long Halloween, dark Knight Returns, Batman year one, hush, killing joke. They never read other comics which has 80 years of history. Man people can be very unaware of these things.
I mean legit he is literally Batman from year one this whole movie to a T with also a hint of mask of the phantasm with the insane way he views his parents. I hope we eventually get the dark knight scene of him going to the bats to remind him why he does what he does.

It's honestly so refreshing to see him like this. I don't think I've ever seen him this excited and interesting in a role he's played. Hope he gets to play the Batman for a long time.
Same, I just watched The Batman and it was such a chic comic book adaption.
He did great.. Thank you Robert Pattinson Please do more Batman movies.
He’s having a good time and seems really comfortable in this press junket. He knows he knocked it out of the park with this portrayal.
He certainly did!
I feel disproportionately proud of myself for knowing and saying this guy was going to nail the role, as soon as it was announced. Anyone else?
Me
Dude's a true artist and he's crazy af, I truly admire him.
He killed it. Killed it! He’s definitely got Batman down. Probably the best. Gonna be interesting to see how his Bruce Wayne is.
I was not expecting him to be so good as Batman. His performance was amazing.
It’s incredible to see a superhero actor, actually interested in superhero stuff!😂 This makes me even more excited for the movie knowing that Robert is a legitimate Batman FAN😂
he dies
@@thedarkknight4803 spoiler alert: we all die
@@sparshbansal6624 my guy, he literally cites the comic books he was inspired by. and if you genuinely believe this Batman “doesn’t resemble” previous versions of the character then i suggest you read more comics
@@JackRabbit1612 Just because he cites those comics doesnt mean he understands those comics. I have read those comics and batman dresses up as a bat to scare criminals. You know what is funny? Nolan wqs inspired by the samw comics. He was also inspired by Shaman, The Man Who Falls, Long Halloween, Year One and TDKR and he got it right but Pattinson didnt
Robert Pattinson clearly know more about Batman than 99% of the viewing audience. I mean, be honest. How many people have actually read one Batman comic let alone five?
I own over 20 (I know a bit sad)
General Kenobi, we meet again.
Someone's elitists is showing
@@monotech20.14 inaccurate. It's not u heard of for one to lose both bulk and mass after obtaining it. In this situation, Pattinson, who is very slim and has openly talked about hating exercise, had to stick to an extreme lean protein (white fish and lemon) diet and daily workout routine. Once he finished filming I'm sure he immediately went back to his old lifestyle. Remember the movie completed filming back in the middle of 2021. That's plenty of time to lose whatever mass he gained.
Really amazed to hear Shaman get mentioned. That’s easily in my top ten Batman stories. Going to have to go back and reread it now…
He nailed it and it was absolutely no shock to me at all great actor and I love how much he knows the character
Always makes me happy with an actor clearly cares about the character that they are portrayed.
Looking forward to Pattinson’s portrayal continuing in more movies after seeing this fantastic film!
I'm so glad we got a true batman fan as batman.
The whole movie I kept being reminded of various Legends of the Dark Knight stories, especially one very explicit reference to the Venom arc. It's good to know the inspiration was this direct, because those are some of the best Batbooks out there.
I love that he legit reads the comics, and takes inspiration from them
I feel like before the film was finished, Pattinson was stiff.
Pattinson is gradually developing David Lynch hair
While Val Kilmer has always been my favorite Batman, Robert Pattinson is going to be amazing in this role. When you have Matt Reeves referencing the Ego comic and Rob referencing Shaman, the level of development for this version of Batman is next level! 1 week away!
Kilmer really was underrated, he honestly had the best voice along with bale in begins, and now Pattinson, love the calm whispery voice as opposed to the angry growl, always seemed much too try hard. Their voices are far creepier and threatening when they do the former.
@@cabbagekid5743 finally, someone else that understands how much better bale was in begins than in the other 2.
Is this Robert Pattinson?
ua-cam.com/video/lE_PIC_dhEQ/v-deo.html
@@crobeastness I honestly still didn’t mind the voice in TDK and TDKR. Made him sound intimidating and animalistic. Like Rorschach in Watchmen.
He was a truly fantastic Batman.
Near 10/10 film
We need a podcast of robert pattinson just talking about Batman
It feels so good to hear an actor who actually knows about the comics they're adapting.
This dude read the entire Goblet of Fire book in one day, so there was no doubt in my mind that he’d commit to this role.
Amazing performance by Robert Pattinson as Batman!! ❤️👍😎
I guess he figured out how to be a "detective and wear the batsuit because....Congratulations and Thank You Robert Pattinson....you have given us the best Batman yet.
I was just reading the long Halloween and year one a few months ago. Noticed alot of similarities when watching the movie which was nice. Great movie
If you haven't already, I can recommend that you read Zero Year by Scott Snyder. The movie draws inspiration from that comic, as well, and it's also a great story, too!
He was seriously a kick a$$ Batman! Well done R Patts!
It's so refreshing to hear an actor not say "Dark Knight Returns" or "Year 1"
Not to say they're not great, I'm just saying there's so much more
I love this man, hope I get to meet him someday, one of my fav actors out rn
I have seen The Lighthouse Never saw Twilight so from Day 1 i never had a problem with him
Homey knocked it out of the park
I have wanted for so long to go to the detective part if Batman
Interesting insights to the film and Robert's portrayal that's gonna be memorable!
I really enjoyed Pattinson's performance as Batman. I want a sequel of sorts.
After seeing the new batman, fully confident in saying Pattinson is the best batman
I still have the early run of "Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight", there were some great stories by rotating creative teams of writers and artists. Also, gotta at how RPatts pronounces "Shaman" as "Shame-man"!
Interviewer: *Asks question*
Robert: *Nerdy rambling about his thoughts about a character.*
When I get new shoes I feel like a new person too lol
His Batman was actually great, a great performance, great movie, looking forward to his next one.
2:45 Mad Hatter reference 🤣
It's said the Robert Pattinson, Charlie Cox, and Andrew Garfield became roommates in London. Knowing that, Rob reading the Batman comics doesn't seem surprising now, as both Charlie and Andrew also read the comics of both Daredevil and Spider-Man respectively for their roles! The three of them seem so similar to each other now.
Also, people should read these comics Robert says. Man these only reads long Halloween, dark Knight Returns, Batman year one, hush, killing joke. They never read other comics which has 80 years of history. Man people can be very unaware of these things.
There is not a single comic where batman dresses up as a bat because of the reaosns pattinson mentioned. He dresses up as a bat to scare people
That was unexpected
Kudos to Robert, he did a cracking job
Rob understood the assignment.
Robert was slept on for so long since twilight, its good his talent is being put to use in mainstream movies.
He reminds me of a younger and better looking Jack Nicholson (his smile in particular!).
His hair stylist went with the bird nest look.
i think robert has the bad habit of making his hair messy casually
He's a true fan and I absolutely love and respect him for that ❤️
Glad to see legends of the dark knight get some love. The Shaman arc is my all time fave Batman story.
BATMAN: Ego! Shoutouts Darwyn Cooke!🤘🏿🔥🦇
Bro I have this entire comic run and what a banger choice.
I mean legit he is literally Batman from year one this whole movie to a T with also a hint of mask of the phantasm with the insane way he views his parents. I hope we eventually get the dark knight scene of him going to the bats to remind him why he does what he does.
Funny when he was even rumored, most where like,oh,no.but now people love him
Those people clearly haven't seen his other movies.
you cant be a superhero without that jawline do you?
his physicality in the film was extraordinary
Man is the best Batman we have gotten yet.
Rob gets who Batman is. So glad he got to play him.
The man absolutely killed it. Favourite batman film of aaaaalll tiiiime
"move like a wraith"... super cool
Fantastic film. Just saw it yesterday. Big fan of this fella 🤘🤘
Robert Pattinson ❤❤❤❤
Batson: "Dream state hasn't been touched on"
Batfleck: "Don't believe everything you hear son"
Whom likes "The Cult" ??? Batman faces Deacon Joseph Blackfire in Gotham City's sewers, very dark story and amazing writing/drawing.
Robs batman reminds me so much of the long Halloween movie jensen ackles
U can tell he gets the essence of Batman to the degree that not a lot of actors go to. He reminds of animated series Batman
