UA-cam is undoubtedly the best platform to grow a business in 2024. Especially if you sell high-ticket services or info products.
My UA-cam channel has brought me many clients already sold on working with me. I didn't have to sell them. They were excited to start working with me after watching a few of my videos. They are what we call the warm leads. Videos are great for creating warm leads because potential clients get to know you better and build trust even before working with you. For some reason, people get excited to work with me because they think I am a celebrity. I bet you get the same response, Wes.
Yep, that's the power of UA-cam my friend! Im glad to hear its been working so well for you!
Do you take advantage of email marketing as well?
@@drewxinsights0 For sure but mainly to keep my audience engaged with me, be reminded of me, and help the cold leads to become warm or hot leads.
Thanks man !
Glad to have found your channel - this was great info! I definitely will implement your 4th tip on my next video on my other channel I'm building. Thanks!
So much inspiration!
Wes i love your videos. Thank you so much. Quick question that may a lot of people ask. Do u use a teleprompter?
Hey Wes, so did you also do phone sales calls or were all your clients inbound from youtube?
Thank you Wes. While you likely don't want to make it appear to be an overwhelming process for beginners, for us nerds out here... For video production (gear) and editing app, are you willing to share what you use? And for b-roll also. Looks and sounds great.
Man, this entire video is fire and is a George Blackman script masterclass! Love it.
Thanks Anson!
@@WesMcDowellInc Yeah, I just broke down the video by topics and the minutes those topics were addressed.
Wow, never knew you started as a web designer. It makes sense now as you have shared a ton about making highly converting websites. Can you make more videos on web design & freelancing?
that transition at the end was smooth AF i thought video is still playing and continuing but am onto the next, your consistency and hardwork is unmatched WES
Thanks I appreciate that!
Thank you so much, Wes. I have a feeling you made this one especially for me. I’m going to do it.
So glad it resonated with you! Let me know how it goes!
Danke für das video. Aber wieso hast du die Pflegeversicherung nicht erwähnt, die man auch zahlen muss? LG
Thank you for sharing your strategy with us. Does this work if you're selling a product (*30€)?
Wes, would you say that you started creating content on UA-cam teaching about web design, web marketing, etc and as the channel grew you realized that talking about how to grow on UA-cam and social media marketing was way more popular and switched your focus?
Congrats on your success Wes, been a follower of yours for 5+ years now.. Learned a lot from you.
Thanks for that Matthew! So glad you stuck around!
Great personal story and awesome email. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
What the best way to learn how to story tell.
Okay Wes, where did you learn how to make these videos? I was thinking about buying a UA-cam course on how to do it from my phone (and about $150 or less in lighting, mic, etc) Think media? Where in world do you recommend I start? You’re super creative and I love all your transitions and editing that you do in all of your videos!
Man, you are putting out some stellar content! You are seeing some amazing potentials with your terrific insights. Thanks so much for helping to guide so many of us, awesome work!👌
My pleasure Michael! You gonna give it a shot?
You betcha, man! I’m headed to a neat desert locale that I will use for some outdoor-themed content. I’m getting creative with this. And thank you A TON for last night’s excellent video on creating a stellar hero section! Absolutely top-shelf insights! Awesome!!🙌
Wow! That's outstanding! Congratulations on building your business to reap amazing results. I've learned a lot through your UA-cam videos, and watched your free training video. It is time to sign up for your course, Wes! Thanks for sharing your expert knowledge on UA-cam. Had you not been sharing it here, I wouldn't have found your course.
Thank you! I'm so glad you are finding it helpful!
This is facts. I wasted so much time on other platforms, however many of my clients came from UA-cam. I'm excited to see what happens now that I am focused on this platform.
Keep me updated on how it goes for you!
Thanks Wes, this is all so true. UA-cam is just too great of an opportunity to ignore 🤑
Thanks Payton, you're living proof of that!
Thank you a lot. I'm interested to launch my UA-cam for 2 years but didn’t start yet, because excuses (not real ones 😅) now I see perspectives here.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you, Wes. Sources you recommend for video clips that add humor and illustrate your points?
I like using gifs from giphy.com here and there.
@@WesMcDowellInc thank you
Excellent teaching here, Wes. I've been advocating this to my clients for years...getting them past their fear of being on camera and representing their brand is the real challenge to growing their businesses. YT (and video in general) lets them be competitive against more established and cashed up rivals with market share and brand recognition.
Well said! It's a competitive advantage that most people are too scared to do... which is why it's still such a competitive advantage :)
@@WesMcDowellInc shhhh don’t tell anyone. 🤫
Thank you for the video, Wes 🙏 My issue is that my YT channel is growing quite steadily now, but I am not sure how to monetize it.
I don't have a connected business/service and my mind is a bit blank as to what I could offer that's valuable and related to my content.
Hey Lukas, yea that's tougher than working backwards from knowing what you do, then creating content around that. I think you could offer a few things: private style coaching over zoom, a video based course, and even become an affilate for one of those style box brands.
@@WesMcDowellIncThank you for taking the time to reply. I really appreciate that.
I am just not sure if a style course is valuable enough compared to courses that teach skills. But I guess I just have to try it out :)
Hey Wes , really nice video! I was wondering if I could help you edit highly engaging trending short videos from your long form content like the one on my page which can help you built your strong personal brand across all social media platforms ?
I Love it! I am a "real" programmer, I know everything about (Databases, PHP OOP, CSS /SASS/SCSS, xHTML), Design, SEO, f*cking everything after 20 years of professional webdevelopment. And IA will cut me off the next time, I know it. I am now professionalizing every part of my life and you help me to believe that it may could attract other people, even customers, to watch and choose and turn into clients. Thank you ❤
Bro please stop thinking Ai is going to replace you... you have 20 years of experience that's not going away and means something. Now you just have to roll with the punches 👊 and learn to use the Ai tools that will make you a more productive developer ❤
Hello, I’m not sure if this is the best place for it, or maybe a different blog. I have a website in the U.S. where I sell digital products and I have affiliate marketers that help sell my products by promoting it. As the owner of my business, what duties DO I have in regards to reporting to the IRS for tax purposes related to me paying my affiliates. I wouldn’t consider my affiliates employees necessarily, but I am paying them. Do I need to fill out a 1099 for each individual, and if I do, do I tell them that upfront (and if they live outside the country I believe there is a different form)? Any light you can shed on this would be appreciated, thank you.
Thats great Wes, but what if your camera shy, I personally would never put myself in a video for so many reasons. What would you suggest for me Wes🙂 Whats your take on faceless videos? Could they also work?
Hey Sandra, unfortunately this is what I mean when I say so many won't do it... My best advice would just be to work on getting more comfortable. You technically CAN make faceless work, but it doesnt work as well, and you have to work twice as hard to come up with constant visuals to show.
Great video and gave me a lot of inspiration. Another channel I just found, Dan Koe, expands on this from a philosophical viewpoint. What a coincidence! Seems like the “universe” (the algorithm) is telling me something 🤔
So glad it was helpful!
I saw what you did there!
Ok, I give. Now how do i get out of this loop of watching this video over and over? 😂
Wes If your willing take us back in time and show us how you've changed and improved. I mean in video production and communicating and listening to your audience. As you've said you've improved overtime as you've gained confidence. What's your current setup now? Thanks.

Hey Wes - CourseCareers sent you an email about a paid partnership. Let me know what you think.
Ok I love this but how do you avoid basically giving away all information for free on you tube that you teach in your course?l- that you want to sell.
You'd definitely want to figure out some of the more proprietary stuff that's in your course that you know you'll just never go into full depth about on YT. But other than that, the way I think about my free vs paid content is that my free videos rare each about one thing. But the paid course is a start to finish SYSTEM all packaged up in the right order to get someone from where they are today all the way through to a tangible result. People will pay for the roadmap becuase it's a shortcut.
Give the information and sell the implementation
@@WesMcDowellInc thank for taking the time to reply! I have followed a few other channels in this niche and they NEVER reply to me! Its clear you make your subs a priority! thank you!
@jessicacramer5995 course should = knowledge + community + motivation + accountability.
SHORTS AND LONG FORM VIDEOS HAVE DIFFERENT AUDIENCES.
Hi Wes, A long time subscriber and a UA-cam encourager @blessedtuber YT channel.
You were successful at shorts as you got your base audience covered before UA-cam shorts was a thing and Your short videos reached the group of people who were watching much longer videos.
But if you are going to start to build an audience with shorts and then transform to longer form, viewer's watching habits ain't gonna change.
UA-cam has been talking about the issue of "subscriber growth not reflecting on views" for more than a year now but still it isn't solved as UA-cam algorithm can't influence the decision of a shorts viewer to watch a long form video due to attention span reasons.
Having seperate channels can work imo.
Other than that, a great video as usual.
The reason I recommend starting with shorts isn’t to start building an audience it’s to get comfortable on video.
Thanks Wess I am still to reach my first 1k subs.
And a lot of videos are only getting 20 views 😅😢😮.
Even though I am giving good content. Just haven't cracked it yet
