Great video! I've done a lot of backpacking in that area and it is life changing. I admire you for taking the time to actually make videos while your hiking. Keep up the good work!
I've traveled and visited the Eastern Sierras for over 30 years and have never heard or much visit these lakes. I'll have to visit some of these! Thanks!
Excellent list. Lake Ediza is absolutely spectacular framed by the Minarets, Mt Ritter, and Banner Peak. Cecile and Iceberg and some North like garnet and Thousand Island are beautiful as well. Big Pines Lake's Second and Third lakes are gems as well. The 20 Lakes Basin out of Saddle Bag Lake is incredible and a very long day hike if you don't take the ferry. Anyone who loves views should climb Mt Coness (second-third class but not from the lakes, but Tuolumne Meadows/Ragged Peak) for stunning views. You can see all the way down Tenaya Lake miles away and the Cathedral Range. Convict Lake is gorgeous (even though there is a parking lot) because there is a great trail around it for hiking.
Well done. Normally I discourage anything making the backcountry more impacted than it already is. I have spent much time on or near these hikes back in the late seventies and mid 80s. Never once encountered another soul. Your short summary reminded me of the positive impact that the eastern Sierra has had on me. Perhaps everyone should be blessed to live the experience.
Love your videos. ,so glad to find you. Spent summers at grandparents cabin at south fork of Bishop creek, grandfather set trail ducks, I lived in Mammoth for awhile. Love all of it but paralyzed now.
Thank you for this beautiful video and commentary (and I've enjoyed your others too). Please tell me in which month(s) most of these hikes took place. You mention June to October is recommended but I'd like to go when there's not too much snow and not too little. Your videos have what I consider the perfect amount of snow. Which month is that?
Thank you! Ive done these hikes in August, September and October (2023 & 2024)..Last year there was more snow on the mountain tops...I might try for June next year if the trails are clear!

The trails are still pretty quiet, I think because they are pretty remote 💙
