Willskeep This was my first time building a circuit and went smoothly with help from the online instructions in the passenger car project. I recommend painting the shell of the bobber because the light shows through.
Very informative video, however, I do mine a little differently. I will use Kadee centering springs for the wheel pickups. And since I don't use an LED driver I will use some current limiting resistors on the LED's.
Hi Rusty. I am aware of that method. With resistors the current will vary which may vary the intensity of illumination. The LED diver chip limits current to 20 mamps.
Should work also. The advantage of the LED driver chip is that from 6-90 Volts it limits the milliamps to just 20 so there is no risk of burning out the LEDs and the lighting is constant.

It looks cool but you built it backwards the lights are on the wrong side
