I was playing my Kalimba at around 2 am but no headache. I'm also a migraine sufferer. Sometimes I get Silent migraines, a really strange experience! I hope playing you kalimba helped. I love these instruments, they are sound therapy as well as fun.
I don't really get visual disturbances with migraines (except for occasionally, when I close my eyes and get to be entertained by a light show that looks like the northern lights), but I'm pretty sure I've had non-visual silent migraines. One of my major symptoms is an inability to find common words. I sometimes get that and other symptoms WITHOUT the headache, which is disconcerting. This time around, however, there was definitely a headache.

Improv was fine but poor you - migraines sound horrendous. Your fighting spirit is admirable not letting it deter you from your improv a day quest. 👍
