Hard for claustrophobic. All i did ws close my eyes n think of people cheering me up, strong people n a relaxing place. I was able to finish 25 mins only.. Thank God
I might have one too, cause they found a defect to the baby at my 20 weeks ultrasound scan. I am scared too . Also something about amniocentesis too :(
@@erickamelendez7849 I had all I could do do be in that tunnel for 45 min each time for spine mri. Now they want brain scan and there's NO WAY i can do that with that covering on. No way to sedate before as I have no transportation. It's 2024, there's gotta be a less than evasive procedure for us anxious peeps.
@@MissTalented02 yeah, I couldnt do this either , as soon as they put me in there after like 5 second they had to take me out, no way I could stay there for half hour
OK, I just want to update and share my experience with mri for brain scan. Hopefully, it'll help someone. I have severe anxiety disorder, so I was very scared. I wasn't able to get a medication from my primary doctor to help me relax, and I didn't want to reschedule, so I went ahead. I closed my eyes the whole time and prayed the whole time. The first part was 25 minutes, then I got injected with the contrast (it took 3 tries, which heightened my anxiety), and then the 2nd part took 15 minutes for a total of 40 minutes. It helped to close your eyes the whole time because if you see how closed off it is, esp with the head equipment, you will panic. I wish they could make this procedure better, or hopefully, I wouldn't need it anymore. 😢
I had mine scheduled today, it was like in this video except it was unsuccesful I had a panic attach straight away, I was told to come back again and ask the doctor to give me a relaxing pill beforehand, but honestly I dont think there anything that will relax me enough to persevere, I just cant do it 😢
Neurosurgeon looking more into superficial temporal artery aneurysm before having it removed, so I had this done last night, and waiting on results. It was an ez procedure for me...np.
I just got home ,I could not go head first, I tried I was so shaky and just tears x, any tupd any one anf the thing they put on your head mar it wiorse
@@lluisfargaslopez9603 your the lucky ones not to feel claustraphobic, I also work very long hours and laying down for half hour sounds great, but this was my idea of hell, I couldnt do it. Any advice of how to handle it
@@rutaa3957 I just associated it of being a good place because my first MRI was after they gave me powerful painkillers due to suspecting I had a brain tumor after my computerized tomography.

I'm having mri tomorrow. I'm so anxious and scared

Talk about claustrophobic! That head coil would make me run screaming from there.
Exactly 🫠
Why? There is a monster who wants to eat you?
No, but just the feeling of being stuck in a pipe and it gives you panick since you cant even move or get out by your own when you want@@RM07777
Yeesss that’s what I did🥹 twice

They need to come up with a new way of doing this!!! I had a panic attack when I was put in this machine 😫
i feel you
I can't do this scan
Me too even the CT scan just only a minute I was panic

I wish I could've been sedated.. The entire experience was a nightmare!
Did it hurt? Or is just from what you hear or what you see?
No physical pain. Just traumatizing because of the experience. If you’re claustrophobic, you can end up being really paranoid. It is very noisy too.
@@newadventure5609 thank you for the response!
