When there’s no rules, anything goes it’s not gonna be a technical chess match like they think it’s going to be. Most people's brain partially shut down during a fight and they act on instinct without thinking (fight or flight). This usually, but not always will leads to a beat down lol. It is a rare gift to have your mental functions working when you fight. it makes picking your opponent(s) off quite easy with a few well placed throws. While they flail around with windmills lol. You are either born like that or it will take years of training. Emotion and anger/blackouts are not good for a controlled use of force. I have a personality disorder that means I can't feel much emotionally so I am lucky to have the gift of being consciously in control of my actions during an altercation. But NGL it has it's downsides. The adrenaline can be trained away. it just takes time, and ofc losing the fear of getting into a fight in the first place. Then the Sheriffs blitz in and threw us all on the ground. It was crazy. Watching a video and them actually being in it, let’s say it changed my training routine big time. Shit gets real. It wasn’t my first time in a street fight but not against 3.

When they heard sirens, they started getting in everyone’s face, asking why you call the cops. They pretty much were trying to cover up the accident because the dude was drunk driving. One of the family members stepped on my property and got in my face and was talking junk. I told him to get off my property before I stand my ground. He Kicked me and then started throwing punches. Then another guy came from another direction and tried to hit me. I hit them both with a body shot and they both folded. Then another guy came from the otherside and tried to rush me. I stepped aside and uppercut his face and then grab him and body slammed him. The. I went to kick one of the other guys and then 3 Sheriff’s tackled me and cuffed me. I told them I didn’t want to press charges because they lived right down the street from me. We just kept our distance from that point on.

I will forever avoid street fights, I'd rather be considered a clown than being in a situation where one of us is in the hospital or dead and the other is in the police station. Eye gouging, ball kicking, throat punching, knife pulling, picking a damn stone from the ground and bashing one's head in, too many variables, I'd rather say sorry and walk on.
I fought a construction street fighters and I almost lost but luckily I ran away they also using tubes and they also know how to throw a jab and cross they also used low kick and front kick ( moral lesson don't underestimate your enemy ).
MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS, it is because the wide movements at least they think will guaranteee a contact even if not much damage and clinching is for tiring the fighter and the hugging person gets room to breath and recover, while the hugged person runs out of breath. After all , all that matters is who stays in the end/stay alive.
Fighting in the streets has taught me only one thing, never fight in the streets, cause it's just dangerous and never worth it, carry a weapon, pepper spray , a firearm if necessary to get out of situation..... On a completely different note, can all of us fighters /martial artists forget our differences for a second and team up against these street fighters

The problem with street fights is that circumstances and untrained fighters are not predictable.
A boxer would absolutely destroy a non boxer in an anything goes street fight (without weapons)

a good piece of advice I've heard is if you can, just wait, hold and block as long as possible until they get tired, then you're really gonna fight but problem is they're too tired out, then you could just use what I personally call the 3 step fight rule:
1. Liver Punch
2. Leg Sweep
3. Run Away
Do people forget most professional boxers start out as street fighters and people who just loved fighting. I will forever avoid street fights, I'd rather be considered a clown than being in a situation where one of us is in the hospital or dead and the other is in the police station. In a street fight, people tend to focus upwards, so knee strikes and tackles are effective.
MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS,
it is because the wide movements at least they think will guaranteee a contact even if not much damage and clinching is for tiring the fighter and the hugging person gets room to breath and recover, while the hugged person runs out of breath. After all , all that matters is who stays in the end/stay alive.
