We live in the woods on the central Oregon coast and my dad heard this exact roar tonight. He was describing what he had heard so I put in a quick search to compare. This is the 2nd video I clicked on and his eyes got wide and he said “that is EXACTLY what he heard tonight.” Crazy.
Heard a scream just like this on a mountain top cabin in the catskills near big indian summit with not a soul around and everyone asleep at 12:45am. I walked out to the shed to get some dried wood to stoke the fire in the stove. It was about 25 yards from the cabin. When I was coming out for a second trip this echoed deep in the woods. Needless to say I went back inside and didn't come out until morning. This was 1995.
