I dunno if there's an updated video on this yet, but blender has added yet more stuff for this. It's now possible to use it for printing the type of stuff you'd usually use CAD for.
Definitely sounds like something I can fill my spare time with outside of painting miniatures and gaming. Will eventually get a photon mono as there's other models I want to print but it definitely would be another fun experience to have. Thanks for the video man!
tbh if one of your existing hobbies is painting minis, I think 3d printing is a perfect additional hobby to go with that 👀 you can just... print them and then paint them hell yeah
i do too, i find blender models are less useful for 90% of parts i print, especially due to mesh issues being a huge deal when printing parts, as it is very easy to create 0 thickness meshes in it
Fusion360 is only free for personal use, the maker license and startup license was changed but it is only free for a year and under 100k dollar company , i also use it because i found blender too complicated
great video thanks. I'm teaching a class on 3D fabrication and sculpture. I will share this video with my students. One suggestion is to also discuss how Blender and 3D printing is also used in the field of fine art and sculpture.
I have a GF. Who want to marry me, I just godt nedsat that I can buy my grandfather's house I got a raise yesterday... thanks for your comment... and no it's not a joke :)
I combine fusion 360 and blender, I find fusion much easier and intuitive to create dimensionally accurate and interlocking parts, but blender is much better for finer details and various "accessories"
Is ryzen 5 5600g enough to make 3d models in blender and slicing those modeks in cura for 3d printing ? I dont do any rendering . I dont play videogames.
Even assuming you get the meassurements right (which won't be easy) for them to be compatible with Lego bricks (e.g hair you can put on minifigures) you'll need a VERY fine printer. Which usually are pretty expensive. You need them as smooth as possible and to use ABS like Lego does as well. That way you can use Acetone vapor to smooth them more. Sanding will hardly work. Sooo it's possible but not easy at all.
That's odd, I found plenty on mocap and Blender on UA-cam. Here's one by CG Geek. ua-cam.com/video/fwc9vTCLYCc/v-deo.html I would also check out CGMatter. He does a lot of the motion capture and scene tracking tutorials.
Good to know, I was thinking about printing letters in different font shapes and I didnt know if I could use blender for this of if I should get in with fusion360
Hello, I'm new to this community. I just want to ask what kind of software should i learn if I like to make miniature and action figures? Cartoons and anime, game characters such. Also, what kind of paint to use?
you probably still should, also take a look into preferences > addons type in 3d- in search and 3d- print toolbox should pop up install/activate it and with that you can check the mesh and make it manifold be sure to save first and save to a new file before doing boolean and this toolbox opperations as it isn't perfect and can mess up what you are doing . some slicers might be smart enough to fix some problems in models but it's better to do it as correctly as possible before slicing and double check the slicing result . not doing so might result in missing layers, disconnected parts in the sliced result and will result in print failure so spent the extra time instead of coming to a failed print after 15 hours.
no it's useless for 3d printing (like all other 3d modeling software) it's great for 3d modeling. it can't generate Gcode that the printer can understand, a 3d printer would have no clue what to do with anything any 3d modeling software spits out pretty much any modeling software that can export an OBJ (so all of them) will do if you understand how to build what you wanna build, it's just another tool in the pipeline to get to a finished print. the only part of that pipeline I would call "3d printing software" is the slicer that generates the Gcode .. so Cura, Slic3r, prusa slicer etc. for real world practical models you would be better with something like Fusion 360 (also free) or solidworks and in my experience for making organic models that will translate well into 3d prints nothing can touch Zbrush

literally me rn lmao

@@raphaelmorgan2307 yeah that's for sure. Supports are still tedious for me but it's been great working with it
@Ida yeah I did. Has been great for the most part. The photon well and truly died but i've since upgrade with an Elegoo Saturn
Warning: Being able to create your own models becomes a QUICK addiction.
@@Spaceisprettybig yeah..ive abandoned gaming ..like fully abandoned .. i never thought something could be able to do that to me ..
I 3d print. But I use autodesk fusion 360 (free) to design hard surface and practical models.

Same, I find fusion to be super good at functional models

6:55 - that SCISSOR WING GUY! ... mad
The person who is reading this comment, I wish you great success, health, love, happiness and Good Mood.
You too. Be blessed. 🥰🤗
I love seeing this shit in comments. Spread the love brother!

Same too you bro
Shut up.

I'd love to try this out as well - can you transition models from one software to another?
5:54 *"Please? don't drink yourself to death Superman, its finally happened yes. The Snyder cut of Justice League is coming. We won!!!"* - 🤣😆😁 Lol.
Wow I'd love to print some of those models they shown. Must be cool to have those big printers in the video. Obviously commercial size lol
Awesome bro I loved your 3D modeling details nice job
Is ryzen 5 5600g enough to make 3d models in blender and slicing those modeks in cura for 3d printing ?
I dont do any rendering .
I dont play videogames.
8:06 I cant find original video in Nquake1 channel.
What about freecad software
Please can you tell me about 3D printer softwares - by making a list and ranking?
Does Blender supports every 3D Printer?
How do I fix manifolds in a mesh? My print came out wonky af!
What about making your own LEGO pieces, minifigures and models?
Even assuming you get the meassurements right (which won't be easy) for them to be compatible with Lego bricks (e.g hair you can put on minifigures) you'll need a VERY fine printer. Which usually are pretty expensive.

I have a question...
Can you do full body mocap in blender?
I searched everywhere and didn't find an answer...
That's odd, I found plenty on mocap and Blender on UA-cam. Here's one by CG Geek.

I know, but i mean, is it possible to track all that in blender?... no other apps.
@@ralphschmidt1609 idk ask a professional
Your voice is the most addicting sound I’ve ever heard
He is jordan peterson
What kind of accent is that please ? Just curious, i'm not english but I can hear a strange accent, in addition to the smooth voice.
What kind of printer is the one shown at 1:48 ?
Could you make a tutorial on how to make color models for 3d printing?
I'm thinking about making a 40k set.
Thanks for pointing out Blender has issues with 3d printing. I love blender but OMG I hate its units system, it's so confusing.
1 unit = 1 meter. what's so confusing about that?
get "CAD transform for Blender" it will help you with moving stuff relative to other stuff.
you can set the units lol.

go with blender.... its a monster software and its free
I wish someone would model a hwarang.
does blender cost money
Nope, free
no
You do not have to explain that it is not engineering software every 2 minutes.
So if i have 5 objects and just join them with CTRL+J. I can them print them ? even if they are not bollean together ?

All i wanted was a yes or no.......
You can see the video length ahead of time and you can skip through the video. Your complaint has nothing to do with the video maker
Amazing
Thanks
We can help with it :)
But is it better then 3Ds max, Maya and Zbrush? Mainly I know Zbrush is the best for organics
But accessing plugins for 3d printing is not as easy as blender i guess.
I wish it would run on iPad 😭
Nope
Definitely 3D printing has came along way, just had a cracked tooth repaired and the dentist use a 3D printed crown

Ya if u know how to use the software, its so damn complex
you havent got a clue
no it's useless for 3d printing (like all other 3d modeling software)
it's great for 3d modeling.
it can't generate Gcode that the printer can understand, a 3d printer would have no clue what to do with anything any 3d modeling software spits out
pretty much any modeling software that can export an OBJ (so all of them) will do if you understand how to build what you wanna build, it's just another tool in the pipeline to get to a finished print.
the only part of that pipeline I would call "3d printing software" is the slicer that generates the Gcode .. so Cura, Slic3r, prusa slicer etc.

Most helpful comment thank yy
fuck yeah it does, any other cad software is lame.
Blender is awful for 3d printing.
Stop ranting on and get to the point.
It's almost as if there is a way to skip through the video 🤔
Nope, just Zbrush.😚👍
bro don't create models of animals or humans in blender it's just like trying to create a human and you're human, you're doing smth like god creation :/
