Bring Your Own Phone. Love your current phone or data device? Bring it over and switch to Cricket Wireless. It’s easy, follow these three steps to start!
Step 1: Unlock your device
Your device will need to be unlocked to work on the Cricket network. If it isn’t already unlocked, your original wireless carrier will unlock it for you as long as you meet their requirements.
How do I know if my device is unlocked? How do I know if my device is unlocked?
Most devices that you buy from specific carriers come locked to work only on that network. When the device is unlocked, it’s no longer tied to any carrier. The easiest way to check if your device is unlocked is to contact your service provider. They’ll be able to tell you whether your device is unlocked and if it isn’t, if it is eligible to be unlocked.
Step 2: Check device compatibility
Check that your unlocked phone or data device is compatible with the Cricket network. Some unlocked devices aren’t compatible with our network. We make it easy with our Device ID (IMEI) checker.
Note: Other carriers’ 5G devices may not have access to Cricket 5G service at this time.
Step 3: Select a SIM card and plan
A universal SIM card from Cricket allows you to make calls and use data on our network. You’ll need the Universal Cricket SIM card kit: amzn.to/2SjcAj5

EB3 Tech, I thought you will dive really deep into this matter. But for those of you who don't know, the only non-cricket phones that you can bring to the cricket network at this time are some iPhones and a select few Samsung phones. Those are the only two phone makers they take. They used to take phones from everywhere, but they have changed as of this date. Their website plays around with words to give you the impression that you have a wide variety of phones you can bring, as long as you check for compatibility. What they don't tell you is that all phone makers who used to be compatible are no longer compatible, except Apple and Samsung. If you try and bring your own unlocked phone that is not one of these two brands, they will terminate your phone plan automatically the moment you put the cricket sim card into the phone. Try it, if you think I am speaking Greek. But their stores however have plenty of phones from other phone makers other than Apple and Samsung. So my conclusion is that they are trying to influence you into buying phones from them only, and not somewhere else.
I'll do some deeper diving into this, thank you for sharing!
Yep just learned the hard way. After researching I found this out.
I know this is an older video but I'm hoping to get an answer, I just tonight purchased an Galaxy s22 base model from Samsung online unlocked. I am currently with criket using the galaxy A53. Can I just take my sim card out of my A53 and put it in the new s22 when it arrives and everything should work? Thank you!
For the most part Yes, although if you are having issues connecting to the network; perform the steps listed here: www.cricketwireless.com/support/switch-to-cricket/bring-your-own-android.html
@@EB3Studios thank you very much when the phones arrive I will do this thank you very much for your assistance!!
Do you get the sim shipped ?
Yes; you can get one here: amzn.to/3SaIxoC
I want to know which Xperia 10 either mark IV or mark V can be used under Cricket Wireless network can you tell me?
As long as it is "unlocked", more than likely it will work. You can check by entering your IMEI here: www.cricketwireless.com/prepaid-phones/bring-your-phone
I have Cricket and have used Apple phones for a good 5-7 years. I want to try out Android and particularly want to try out the Samsung Z Fold 4. I’m not sure if I can just buy an unlocked Fold 4 and put the sim in. In the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) compatibility list, it shows the Z Fold 4. However, I don’t trust Cricket, as I tried to do that for the Samsung S21 but I was told that I couldn’t do that at an in-store Cricket
Hi Evan, in "most cases" as long as you buy the Z Fold 4 factory unlocked, then you should be able to just put the SIM in as you are saying.
@@EB3Studios yeah, I’ll most definitely give a call to cricket rather to confirm, if it’ll work in my case, than going in store as the employees aren’t aware of how some of this stuff works. Thanks for the heads up 🙏
I have an IPhone SE 2nd generation and I'm planning on getting an IPhone 13 in the future.
Will a metro phone work on cricket and do hotspot
Hi Tiger, you didn't mention whether this is an iPhone and Android so i'll answer this for both.
For an iPhone, you will need to contact Metro by T-Mobile and get it "Unlocked", they will know what you mean by that. Once that is done, then it will work on Cricket by inserting a Cricket SIM Card just fine (including hotspot).
For an Android phone, you will also need to get it "Unlocked" by Metro by T-Mobile, once they unlock it for you then you will be able to bring it over to Cricket by inserting a Cricket SIM card. Depending on the Android model, you will need to get specific APN settings from Cricket to program your Android phone so that your phone's data will work properly. As far as hotspot goes, that is not guaranteed to work because Cricket has a specific list of phones where the hotspot is guaranteed to work on, that list can be found here: www.cricketwireless.com/support/mobile-wifi/hotspot-eligible-phones.html
@@EB3Studios i have a Metro Motorola stylus 5g 2022 and a Nord n10
Do you have to use a universal sims or can use your cricket sims card for your unlocked phone I'm already a cricket customer
You can use your existing SIM as long as it's the same SIM size, otherwise you would need a universal adapter
Will the galaxy A04e work on cricket
As long as it is "unlocked" yes!
Great to see you’re back. Wondered what happened to you. Great video.
Thank you, appreciate it!
i currently have boost mobile. i had at&t and my cousin ran my bill up to $600+ can i still use cricket wireless even if i owe at&t so much money?
Yes, Cricket Wireless is Prepaid just like Boost Mobile is. Even though Cricket Wireless uses AT&T they are two separate entities.
Great review, thanks loads for your effort!
Glad it was helpful!
Very nice. Thank you.
My pleasure!
What if you bring your own phone but do not have a phone number. How do you get a cricket numbe4?
You can sign up as a "new line", they will give you a new phone number then.
Is a iphone 8 that is unlocked compatible to cricket...?
Yes!
Thanks man
More videos of Eddie B 3 you're doing some videos now
