I’m 68 and started a channel 10 months ago. I tried vidIQ and tube buddy and even had a vidIQ coach. I found them somewhat helpful at first, but it didn’t do a good job of suggestions for my channel aimed at seniors. I created my own GPT which is much more useful.
I'm with you Kev on this topic. Every time I look for something and see a title "the ultimate guide to " I know right away that it is 90% possible of being AI created. Also using these companies diminish the creativity of creators. I studied UA-cam and watched for titles, watched thumbnails and learnt that there was a skill in both, just as much if not more skill than creating the video itself. The next skill was.learning how to keep the video interesting and keep people watching. So yes, I believe we should be creating our own as it is originally done from the minds of the creator. But think on this, if 1000 people make a video on a product, and all use the same software to create titles and thumbnails, wouldn't they all be similar? So which one do you choose to watch? Keep up the good work Kev. Cheers Dan
Great points. Think what you bring up about AI is solid that a lot of people don't really think about. AI is fine but still needs a real person to tell it what to do.
I must admit I’ve been using free for ages and moved to paid I went through my whole channel and optimized them all and I’ve seen a crazy jump in subscribers over 500 new subs this week and only Thursday morning that’s the only thing I’ve changed
@@KevinKolbe I don’t think I’d go for one to one option though because I feel like your only going to get the same information that you get from the bot
Do you use tube buddy thumbnail testing now that we have it on UA-cam? Only problem with UA-cams tests is it showing watch time rather than just clicks.
Good question (and way to go too!) It may take time. The more views you get over time, the more data UA-cam can push back to you. Just be patient and keep creating.

Hi Kevin! Can you do a video covering how you set up interviews remotely side by side like the one on this video? What app do you use? How do you edit it? I like the purple frame, and your voice sounds great on the microphone. It would be very helpful! Thank you.
For interviews, I've mostly used Ecamm or StreamYard. For recording to my computer...buckle up...Ecamm, StreamYard, Riverside, OBS, Tella, and QuickTime. I bounce around based on what I'm doing. Don't recommend anyone do that. 😁
I think VidIQ is like most other tools: they’re very good at getting the creative juices flowing, or helping to overcome writers block. They’re good accelerant, put you still have to provide the fuel (I know nothing about engines, so the metaphor may be butchered)

Can I record a video on my DJI OSMO POCKET 3 using 60 FPS and retain normal background voices and sounds without them sounding weird? Im using the DJI mic that came with the pocket 3. Did I hear this correct or was it said as an example which I misunderstood? In this video you’re discussing something that’s “coming” in January 2024 but you’re “recording this in May (2024)” but it took you an additional 2 months after recording to actually post this video? The timing indicates this video was posted 2 months ago. It’s currently September 11th 2024. 2 months ago would put the release of this video in July, or 2 months after it was recorded. I understand UA-cam could be off by as much as a month depending on what day it was posted (if it was posted after the 11th of June, that’s still “2 mo” ago in September). Of course you didn’t state what day in May you were recording, it could have been May 31st, which indicates the video was posted only 2 weeks later… but it just appears that it took you a month or two to post the video. Is this due to the timing of when I watch it, or to show how difficult posting videos actually can be? Yes, I have mental disorders that make me pick up on this stuff, which isn’t really important to the video’s subject but make what might be nothing stand out to me as something.
Hi Kevin, great content - thank you! Have to say I’m shocked that no one has reported how annoying the recording software you used for this particular video is. There is almost an audible click every time somebody would finish a word or sentence, some kind of AI “noise canceling” but rather than enhance the experience, it is extremely distracting.
