@atrv7 The reason BT Audio shows is because I have the Bluetooth module connected. You should get the same when you purchase any of the Bluetooth accessories from Alpine.
It is the 400BT. We tested the previous version as well and while we see improved performance, the iPhone occasionally losses connectivity and the only way to reset the 400BT is to kill the power at the ignition as power cycling the head-unit does not reset the Bluetooth module.
@qnyny, yes, if you have an iPod, it will go into "Connected" mode. If you have an iPhone, you still can use the features of the phone, however, though you're better off using the Bluetooth for the iPhone. Video quality is excellent though chapter marks are not respected.
@koritaporsiempre1 I did not connect the lead to the cars lighting system. You can also disable this in the settings as well. Other than that, I did nothing, really. I was in a garage during the filming which would have aided to the brightness of the video as well.
On the only skipping or stutter we get is via the Bluetooth from time to time if we do something on the iPhone while it is playing music. But nothing noted with the USB connector.
When you say skipping, do you mean playback of the audio? If this is the proper question, then the answer is no. We have not encountered any playback issues with the Alpine unit. We have seen the iPod (120GB Classic) locking up a handful of times that required a hard-reset, though, but this seems to be an Apple issue and not Alpine.
with the iphone or an ipod connected to the head unit can you still use them as if they weren't connected. With my alpine cda 9886 when i connect my ipod the ipod becomes useless and all controls are done with my head unit or the remote for my head unit. so if iphone is plugged in can i still access apps? as well does the sound go into my car speakers or not?
also your video was painful to watch so if you answered in the video sorry but i just couldn't pay attention. maybe lack of sleep or high amount of energy.

Yes, you can burn MP3s to a DVD and play them as well as load a USB thumb drive with MP3s as well.
CDs only display CD-TEXT. The discs we used in our tests were no CD-TEXT compliant.
