Sorry guys. On Thursday just before it went public he was fine and beaming and going to lunch and presenting the news, and after it blew he is in as in-patient in mental health facility with long standing serious mental problem. Yeah, just like that.
Yeah that's often how mental health issues are. You can cope when things are going fine and you're in control and then when things go wrong the coping mechanisms stop working. Mental health issues aren't like, a standard flat thing, they recede and flare up, sometimes at random but also almost always due to outside pressures. Even physical ailments can be better and worse on some days depending on the situation. Having your entire career destroyed in a few days isn't going to have a positive effect on someone, is it?
I think ANYONE finding themselves the subject of witch hunt that extreme would develop mental health problems. Imagine how you'd feel if suddenly the whole country was obsessed with YOUR alleged sexual abuse of a child. Don't you think it might push you to nervous breakdown?
I'm still shocked that this entire story is being told as "Poor, Huw" throughout the press. Lots of mentions of his huge standing in society, his dedication to his own children, how this is going to impact his illustrious career, how the BBC has a "standard of care" to consider his mental illness in the face of all of this, etc. Am I the only one that is saying that, if this is indeed proven true, he should have some pretty dire consequences? That that would be appropriate for someone who did what he did? He should have his standing in society reduced. He should not be in a broadcaster's chair. He should not be seen as a victim in all of this, but rather the perpetrator of lascivious actions (albeit apparently not criminal) against a young man. We don't hear anything about the true victim or about the crime from his point of view, and maybe that is because we aren't to know his identify for his own protection. Fair enough. But at the very least we should be hearing that Huw participated in a pretty major disruption to this young life and that that should be seen as at least a major part of the problem. I'm tried of the "circling the wagons". Let's call this what it is.

To me this sounds like Huw Edwards knew his life was about to implode and was setting this journalist up to say what a wonderful man Huw was. For the record Ewards is a preditor who preys on vulnerable young men in their late teens and earrly 20, thinking because he throws money at them it ok.
Please think about this case: How can the London Metropolitan Police and the Welsh Police just look at this case for a few hours or one day and conclude that no criminality has occured; especially when the Mother accused this presenter of receiving explicit pictures from when her son was seventeen years old, which is a crime in the U.K. Also, there are now four different cases or accusations leveled against Mr. Edward's directly from at least three victims. How can the police shut the investigation down without doing a proper investigation? Because the police are part of this problem not the solution, because they are part of the Elite who protect the Elite - whenever a Labour MP or any MP is accused, or any T.V. personality is accused, they are always so quick to drop the case - except, of course, Cliff Richard, who they accused falsely and colluded with the BBC. And later, the BBC were sued by Cliff, and the BBC had to pay out a huge sum of money paid for by the British taxpayers, since it is a public-paid state organisation; this confirms that both the BBC and the Metropolitan Police are institutionised compromised
They didn't conclude that and they never would or could. All they can ever do (and all they did in this case) is say there was no evidence of any criminal activity. Police can't act without evidence. Can you prove that you aren't a nonse? How long do you want the police to investigate you before giving you the all clear (or not, depending on what they find)?
@paulroberts7544 If you think about the time it took them to wrap up their investigation - one day. Even while more and more alleged victims were coming forward - common sense would tell you that this smacks of being highly suspicious.

All down the the BBC, all they had to do three months ago was pull Huw aside and tell him what ever he was doing he'd better stop, no ifs or buts. But the BBC ignored the pleas of the parents, who resolved the issue at the Sun.
Resolved? Well we'll see how that turns out when the facts emerge. By facts I mean the stuff that hasn't been printed by The Sun. The Sun might well be on the end of a law suit. The News Of The World is on the phone, wants a chat.
You're right, but I understand the BBC gets 250 such claims a month. It took them a while indeed, and that's too bad... On the other hand, both the Met and South Wales police have investigated and concluded nothing illegal happened. So whats left is just the case that as a BBC employee you have to be of certain standing, and that would be an internal investigation and probably punishment.
The fact that they didn't might be down to the fact that the parents a) didn't produce a shred of evidence, and b) had no business interfering in the private life of their then 20 year old son (or the private life of their adult employee).
OK, what has he actually done wrong? There doesn't seem to be even any suggestions that a crime has been committed.

People that are shocked to learn others have a private life are a bit of a worry.
No doubt subscribers to the 'Great Reset' and 'you will own nothing; you will have no privacy'.
This is still a free country. That's not freedom just for you and those that think the way you do, but freedom for everyone to live their lives as they see fit (within the law).
Affairs have been the norm since the beginning of time. It's between himself and his wife. Some people are happiest in open marriages.
It can ever be ok to exploit vulnerable young people much younger than himself, and to threaten them when they won't do what he wants.
I don’t think this qualifies in the old fashioned sense as an ‘affair’ . If the accounts hold any truth, it’s fairly grotesque and abusive even if not technically illegal. Also his huge salary is paid for by us, so like a politician he doesn’t have the luxury of an unfettered private life.
@@martincole5222 agree.
How long before his wife jumps ship?
And takes half his money!
She will stay for the money.
@@melgrant7404you nasty bit of work
@@timcomley5948 steady on you sound like huw with his abusive texts 😊
At least I don't threaten young people I shouldn't be involved with or attempt to cover up wrong doing with mental illness. And I certainly don't get show my bare backside out on Snapchat to target young men .so watch your tongue.its clear who the real nasty person is here. He has cheated on his wife and let down his children and is a bully.and if his wife stands by such depraved behaviour she is no better.
Why is this a scandal? Nothing criminal was going on…… so it’s between him and his wife and children. Just give the guy his job back. It’s none of our business….
You can watch the pervert because I won't be.
It’s not a secret life - it’s a private life.
If the man wasn't described as "young" would it have the same impact.
Obviously it is more disgusting but even with adults it's still cheating on his wife.
It's not mental health issues it's guilt issues.
Yes. He's been caught red handed.
A sickening piece of sanctimony from a “friend” giving his opinion, in yet another Murdoch outlet, of why he thinks it’s the end for Huw Edwards as a BBC broadcaster.
