    Unconnected with the Huw Edwards case, but in the general attitude in many firms.
    The top echelon - "He's respected, a hard worker. he has issues. We have a duty to protect him."
    A victim - "What about me?"

    • @thomasmatthews6227
      @thomasmatthews6227 Рік тому +8

      the 'victim' in this case has said NOTHING untoward happened
      the person's mother on the other hand, is now being paid for interviews - it sounds like she is the winner here, her son has tried to distance himself from her story and even denounced the story in the first place
      maybe listen to the 'victim'??

      Victims seldom, if ever admit, or let alone recognise, that they are, or have been, victims. Ever hear of the Stockholm syndrome?
      The facts should stand on their own or otherwise merits, regardless of what either if them say. That is the only thing that should matter.
      This story still has legs , and will run for sometime yet i warrant

      I have seen this type of behaviour twice in my professional life in a corporate environment in London, and nothing at all was done about it, because the Executive was of high profile and earned mega bucks…..this is a fascinating subject & if all The Mr.Smarty Pants are one thing in the front of all, and then masquerades as something else behind the scenes. Then the victims have no voice & almost accused as faking it. In my case when it happen with an inappropriate touch, I slapped him very hard…..He never spoke to me again! He did NOTHING illegal - he didn't force the young person to take drugs, he asked another consenting adult for pictures, the consenting adult agreed (and saw no problem with it) so why are you implying that Huw was responsible for somebody's drug addiction?
      If you give money to somebody (for whatever reason) and later find that money was used to do something illegal without your knowledge, are you guilty by association? I'm curious on your opinion (also we have NO evidence that there was £35k paid, just the word of the Sn no bank statements or anything - it seems like the parents are trying to milk a story

Lots of mentions of his huge standing in society, his dedication to his own children, how this is going to impact his illustrious career, how the BBC has a "standard of care" to consider his mental illness in the face of all of this, etc. Am I the only one that is saying that, if this is indeed proven true, he should have some pretty dire consequences? That that would be appropriate for someone who did what he did? He should have his standing in society reduced. He should not be in a broadcaster's chair. He should not be seen as a victim in all of this, but rather the perpetrator of lascivious actions (albeit apparently not criminal) against a young man. We don't hear anything about the true victim or about the crime from his point of view, and maybe that is because we aren't to know his identify for his own protection. Fair enough. But at the very least we should be hearing that Huw participated in a pretty major disruption to this young life and that that should be seen as at least a major part of the problem. I'm tried of the "circling the wagons". Let's call this what it is.

    Please think about this case: How can the London Metropolitan Police and the Welsh Police just look at this case for a few hours or one day and conclude that no criminality has occured; especially when the Mother accused this presenter of receiving explicit pictures from when her son was seventeen years old, which is a crime in the U.K. Also, there are now four different cases or accusations leveled against Mr. Edward's directly from at least three victims. How can the police shut the investigation down without doing a proper investigation? Because the police are part of this problem not the solution, because they are part of the Elite who protect the Elite - whenever a Labour MP or any MP is accused, or any T.V. personality is accused, they are always so quick to drop the case - except, of course, Cliff Richard, who they accused falsely and colluded with the BBC. And later, the BBC were sued by Cliff, and the BBC had to pay out a huge sum of money paid for by the British taxpayers, since it is a public-paid state organisation; this confirms that both the BBC and the Metropolitan Police are institutionised compromised
