Its interesting that he certainly comes across as having very strong narcissistic traits if not full blown NPD. (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) which I have recently been studying. They are extremely Entitled individuals who have often been over-valued by those close around him. They are often made to feel 'special' and to an extent live in a fantasy world. They also often have 'secret lives' around their sexuality. Huw certainly seems to fit this bill.

Nearer £500K. And he got a £40K pay rise while suspended. But the final insult is that his BBC pension will be about £320K a year. While the median earnings in the UK is about a tenth of that.
Why is sitting in front of a camera for an hour and reading from an autocue and then shuffling a few papers for effect worth 475k a year from other taxpayers at that.
I think some may argue that it's because this job comes with such notoriety, as in they're reporting (having their face shown) to the nation. Not agreeing with it just trying to see both sides ahaha
Don't forget having one arm stretched out on the desk. That took years to get right. On second thoughts, I can't be bothered with sarcasm because of course you are right, paying anyone that sort of money to present programmes is disgusting but it won't change until enough people stop paying the licence fee. Half a million have done so in the past year, and it has got the BBC worried. We all have the power to do the same.
Person sent category A images of children sudpended sentence, but a working class lad puts hurty words on facebook 26 months. That is truly disgusting.
the fact that broadcasting house has a large statue of Eric Blair is eerily Orwellian in itself. Nice use of spoonerism BTW, the great man would've very much approved. All the best, love Shelley Smit.
Not much of a collector, it appears. The police would have seized and forensically searched all his computers and phones, to find 7 Category A ("worst possible legal category") images, and 12 in Category B... out of a total of 377 images. He told the person who sent him the illegal images not to send him any more, and no more such images were received. As this exchange happened on WhatsApp, there'd be an audit trail to confirm this, and if it were untrue it would have been easy for prosecutors to prove it. This doesn't excuse his crime, but it's a fuller, fairer description of what happened, which should put things into perspective.
@@ftumschkwhy is he in contact with somebody sending him child p*rn to begin with. He should have called the police straight away but he clearly liked what was being sent
@@Alex-mj5dv I didn't... I was relativising the definition of "collector". I also pointed out that Edwards instructed the sender not to send him any more illegal images. 7 such images out of 377 might indicate "relatively" how much space pædophilia occupies in his sexuality. It might actually tell us more about the sender of the images than about Huw Edwards himself. Anyway, why CAN'T what he did be relativised like any other crime? Are we not allowed to say that (e.g.) Peter Sutcliffe was a more prolific killer than Ruth Ellis, or even that he was a _worse_ killer than she was? I I can't see why we shouldn't be allowed to make comparisons between criminals of any type.
Thousands of decent people loved Savile. I didn't particularly like him as he seemed fake but didn't take much notice of him. I don't judge those who genuinely thought him ok. Many people pull the wool over your eyes. However the BBC new of his antics. Despicable! To bring the Queen into it is nasty and cynical. Do you think he'd have that gong from the Queen if she'd known this? Of course not. Her son is a difficult one. He's your son and your family but that does not mean you approve of his degrading and disgusting behaviour. I'll bet she had plenty to say to him.
BBC says: "The court heard he had been involved in online chat on WhatsApp from December 2020 with an adult man, who sent him 377 sexual images, of which 41 were indecent images of children." It doesn't say if all the other images were indecent images of children. But 41 images was enough to get a confession. ⚖
Hyperthetically, if someone sent me the kinds of images that are being discussed here, it wouldn't matter what organisation I worked for or whether the individual who sent them was more senior than me, I would tell them it was unacceptable and lodge a complaint against them.
Given the person who sent the photos got a suspended sentence, Edwards cannot be given anything more than a suspended sentence and its likely it wont even be that .
I don’t think she would be bothered by it at all, in fact she probably knew. She has two sons who are alleged pedos-Andrew and his good friend Epstein, and Charles who was best friends with Jimmy Saville, so much so he allowed him to mediate his marriage with Diana! He could also drop in to the palace anytime and I can’t understand why that was allowed to happen or even be friends. Anyone around the royal family would have a deep background check and there was tons of stuff on Saville, I believe 7 police investigations into him (after a report from a victim) were closed down after chief constables intervened on his behalf. Again why, I don’t know, I’m guessing he had dirt on them being the procurer that he was. But the secret service & royal protection officers must’ve known about some of his vile acts and rumours, so he wouldn’t be allowed in, unless someone senior in the family overruled them..? Anyway back to the queen-it makes you wonder if the story about her & Phillip taking 10 children, they hand picked from a Canadian native children’s home, out for a picnic and then they were never seen again is true. Abusers come in all shapes and sizes and genders, and there is definitely a dark side to that family…
Can we just get rid of the BBC now? Imagine if this was a private company with this much history of having offenders in its staff - they'd lose public faith and ultimately go under. But that wont happen "because BBC". Disgusting.

Is she that dumb ? There is a discipline progress in any work environment. Being arrested is not a sacking offence. If there was any issues before hand they would have had to put him on a disciplinary process and warned him of his future conduct . If they didnt do that then Huw has every right to carry on . And if they Suspend him to investigate he has every right to his wage until he is sacked if they find against him .Just because he has a large wage and works for the BBC doesn't mean he has different employment rights .The BBC has done nothing wrong.
He looked like he did not care to me, what he did care about was getting caught, that is about all, he has been paid so much money he will be OK and will probably still get his very overblown pension with no penalty. I hope they will claim back the crazy amount he has been paid while on "sick leave" but I cannot see the BBC thinking that would be fair on him ?????????????

How on earth has he been able to look and act like a respectable individual broadcasting to 100s of millions of unsuspecting people and yet
behind those eyes was a totally different character who has now fallen from a very highplace of grace
to the depths of the sewers
What a devious character in his secret life of grotesque obscenity
his poor wife and children and was
doing all that stuff under the same roof how cunning is that !!!!
And very disturbing
Its got to be the biggest TV broadcaster shocker of the year
Its interesting that he certainly comes across as having very strong narcissistic traits if not full blown NPD. (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) which I have recently been studying. And part of the personality construct is to self sabotage, of course they wear a public Mask of grandiosity. They are extremely Entitled individuals who have often been over-valued by those close around him. They are often made to feel 'special' and to an extent live in a fantasy world. They also often have 'secret lives' around their sexuality. Huw certainly seems to fit this bill.
I think he is a narc too, loads of red flags
And , without mincing words , he is just plain old fashioned ev*l …. as the coppers would have called him back in the day of grass roots policing .
All this modern day obsession with ‘ labelling ‘ obnoxious behaviour into innumerable psychosocial /psychiatric categories is why serial arrogant predators continue to thumb their noses at the law . All whilst continuing to perpetrate evil against innocent children . No excuses for consciously & repeatedly choosing wrong over right when given the choices, privileges and opportunities afforded this guy . ‘ To those who have been given , MUCH will be expected ‘ ….and he sure was given PLENTY , yet still chose ev*l
Total narc - everything about him screams narc - entitlement
Good observation
I am welsh and was always so proud of hugh edwards , when the news broke i was in complete shock and heartbroken , the shame i felt due to being welsh , i always thought of him as posh welsh and loved listening to him reading the news . I am now outraged at him , what a disgusting man he is , im glad they caught him .hope he has a sentence fitting the terrible , teribble crimes he has comitted , but no sentence will counteract the vivtims ruined lives . Dreadful dreadful news.
did he get done for molesting a sheep, just asking
Last straw for me and that BBC pay people like him over 300k a year, I’m cancelling my licence direct debit. eg Nick Robinson just received a 70k pay rise. I don’t have a terrestrial receiver any more
Haven't even watched the video, can tell what he's done from the comments. We cancelled our license over a year ago now. You won't regret it. Don't support this bs corrupt business!
Is it worth that much money for reading an autocue?
Nearer £500K. And he got a £40K pay rise while suspended. But the final insult is that his BBC pension will be about £320K a year. While the median earnings in the UK is about a tenth of that.
@@FangPaw Not his fault he gets that much. The system allows it.
@@MOGGS1942
Yes, that's exactly right. And that's the problem - the system.
Very well written and presented! A fantastic interview. Well done
Shame he turned out to be a vile person.
i blame his parents
.....0.11......."what are YOU looking at?"
How does that narcissist have the gall to FACE THE CAMERAS in such a way!
Agreed. He's got some gall looking like WE somehow owe HIM an apology. 😡
What WERE we looking at is the question? not the person he really is, he covered that up pretty well.
We all have the power to do the same.
could he know too much
Person sent category A images of children sudpended sentence, but a working class lad puts hurty words on facebook 26 months. That is truly disgusting.
the fact that broadcasting house has a large statue of Eric Blair is eerily Orwellian in itself. Nice use of spoonerism BTW, the great man would've very much approved. All the best, love Shelley Smit.
how is that fair or just its a travesty
He can now drink champagne with Gary Glitter
he must be gutted about all his lost profits (sic)
Typical BBC employee.
Such a colossal fall from grace!
I can see a film of this starring Michael Sheen.
With the shades 😎
Anthony Hopkins would be brilliant and his Welsh too.
Toby Jones, he's in everything....
He is not a victim. Stop talking how much of a victim he is,there are a lot of victims in this.
"Fall from grace?" Bit euphemistic....
Did you mean to say convicted collector of the worst possible legal category of paedophilic material?
Not much of a collector, it appears. The police would have seized and forensically searched all his computers and phones, to find 7 Category A ("worst possible legal category") images, and 12 in Category B... out of a total of 377 images. He told the person who sent him the illegal images not to send him any more, and no more such images were received. As this exchange happened on WhatsApp, there'd be an audit trail to confirm this, and if it were untrue it would have been easy for prosecutors to prove it.
This doesn't excuse his crime, but it's a fuller, fairer description of what happened, which should put things into perspective.
@@ftumschk1 category A is one too many I’m afraid. Don’t relativise paedophilia.
@@ftumschkeven having 1 image of that is absolutely heinous
I don’t know why people are offended by him delivering the queens death? She loved Saville and her son 😂
@@janeclarkson8471 she knew about both Jane, she was the queen. You’re in denial.
Edward Got an Especial Treatment As Usual.
BBC was So delicate refusing to Criticise Him. 😮😢
That is a stern look of defiance, as for the dark glasses, I'm not sure but it's a signal for something I feel.
It's arrogance, sickening really
Huw threw all his male colleagues under the bus by not owning up sooner they all had a ton of abuse unnecessarily dumped on them
I hope his children / grandchildren were not abused
There were thousands of images. The 41 were used as specimin charges. It was prolific.
Source please?
@@JDKelleherMusicRegular news items from MSM widely available. Do some research.
BBC says: "The court heard he had been involved in online chat on WhatsApp from December 2020 with an adult man, who sent him 377 sexual images, of which 41 were indecent images of children."
It doesn't say if all the other images were indecent images of children. But 41 images was enough to get a confession. ⚖
Why is this just a still image with audio, you DO know what UA-cam is, right?
His kids been vulnerable too? Rot in jail. Someone will catch up with him !!!
Hyperthetically, if someone sent me the kinds of images that are being discussed here, it wouldn't matter what organisation I worked for or whether the individual who sent them was more senior than me, I would tell them it was unacceptable and lodge a complaint against them.
*hypothetically
@@JustAlex848 😅 Hi, Slow enunciated Voice to Text. ;)
Suspended sentence will be given. The prisons are full.
Given the person who sent the photos got a suspended sentence, Edwards cannot be given anything more than a suspended sentence and its likely it wont even be that .
Usual standard for the Beeb.
Extremely sad and the late Queen would be extremely upset and feel let down, as we all do.
she would have covered it up, like the establishment did with Antony Blunt
The queen has allott to answer for .she was not as she seemed. Very dark woman and her horrible husband.....
Sickening and shameful conduct.
Can we just get rid of the BBC now? Imagine if this was a private company with this much history of having offenders in its staff - they'd lose public faith and ultimately go under. But that wont happen "because BBC". Disgusting.
you know Huw didn't pay for any of those lunches, you did. Cancel your TV licence.

Extreme but accurate and why I no longer pay the license fee.
His father taught me at the Garw Grammar School in Pontycymmer. He was a really lovely man.

Great piece 👌
It sounds as if the female reporter is,almost sorry for him. This is awful.
He found her the job
Yes,I thought that..like she was making excuses for his evil behaviour.
Yes this reporter said that they were people protesting the BBC and was saying quite extreme stuff, so the BBC doesn’t have any previous with coving up PDF files. This type of reporting is the reason why people does not trust the BBC or the radio times.
It's one of the most impartial interviews I've ever heard on such horror of behaviour. A good journalist has to be as impartial as possible and NOT get partial. Which she did admirably, without any inference of being biased either way. I thought it a very balanced interview and I was UNinfluenced by anything she said. It was such a good report! You must have listened to some other gross interview!?
I wonder how his children are feeling?
Much like Schofield's children (''my dad's a non.ce'')
Well well ....
The question is, abuse start at home in lot of cases. I think the police should question his children. To make sure they OK.
probably missing their goodnight story
Like I said in my previous comment, my family and I are absolutely heartbroken over Huw Edwards, we absolutely adored him, he was our favourite news presenter, but saying that, I don't hate Huw Edwards, I hate what he did, and what he has become, it's absolutely disgusts me, and sickens me, I think it's more to do with the fact, we were all extremely fond of him, now we feel let down buy his betrayal of us as the viewers, just so sad, I personally don't wish bad on him, I just think he should go to prison and serve his time, and think about what he's done to his own life and career. 😮😢😢
Because its England nothing surprises me however outside of Europe its a death sentence

Is she that dumb ? There is a discipline progress in any work environment. Being arrested is not a sacking offence. If there was any issues before hand they would have had to put him on a disciplinary process and warned him of his future conduct . If they didnt do that then Huw has every right to carry on . And if they Suspend him to investigate he has every right to his wage until he is sacked if they find against him .Just because he has a large wage and works for the BBC doesn't mean he has different employment rights .The BBC has done nothing wrong.
sick to the core as usual
Havent heard much from his chief defenders, Jon Sopel and Kirsty Walk. According to them he has done nothing illegal.
Lowest of the low
Why is he afforded so much police protection?
He looked like he did not care to me, what he did care about was getting caught, that is about all, he has been paid so much money he will be OK and will probably still get his very overblown pension with no penalty. I hope they will claim back the crazy amount he has been paid while on "sick leave" but I cannot see the BBC thinking that would be fair on him ?????????????
