Tri Tip is very popular in Central California. I never had tri tip in Fresno, but if you try it again go more costal in central California. Like Santa Maria, Lompoc, San Luis Obispo etc... Santa Maria is very known for tri tip...

But you did go to a lot of wrong spots. Me n Ed’s is a staple here we love it. If you ever come back ask on ur channel where to go.

Not the shoulder like that guy said lol If you ever come back to Fresno, for SURE go to The Annex Kitchen since the Fresno State corn is in season now. @@JamesLollis-br9qx I’ve had both, and the problem with Chicago Pizza with a twist is that they don’t do the crust that I like. I prefer authentic NY style crust. If a restaurant can make a plain cheese pizza that blows me away, I’ll expand out to their other flavors, but Chicago Pizza With a Twist failed that test for me, but I did like their toppings. Richie’s Pizza is just a simple solid pizza from top to bottom that does everything right without any frills. If you want good pizza in Clovis, try “More Than.”
Good tri tip doesn't need a lot of sauce to mask it. You should be able to taste the beef thru that sauce if it's made correctly. It should have been smokey and seasoned nice. It should have tasted like an elevated steak sandwich. Love love love your content!
Born and raised in fresno. Its best to just stick mexican food for the most part. For tri tip you gotta hit a black bbq spot in the hood. You need to tap in with a (black) local.
I lived in Fresno over a year and we still go back quite often for business. Respect for Tacos Nayarit but I think you need some additional coaching on the correct restaurants to visit when out there. The Annex Is a must visit regardless of the season. Don Pepe’s shrimp a la diabla tacos and burritos are a definite hit. For some amazing Asian cuisine check out Noodle Q for some great homemade noodles. For an awesome pizza or plate of pasta and great vibes you can’t go wrong with Mike’s Pizzeria.
Give tri tip another shot. It is NOT the shoulder. It is near the sirloin. One of the best cuts of meat when cooked properly. Needs to be done medium rare and seasoned heavy with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
That’s the damn truth. Salt pepper garlic and smoke, low and slow, or grilled on a Santa Maria grill. The restaurants all seem to serve it overdone and covered in BBQ sauce and that’s not the correct way.

Yo Brotha if you are near fresno you have to stop by Hanford CA and go to Superior Dairy Ice Cream. Its like a known tourist spot and people have come from state round and even other states just to try some of the ice cream there! Theres also some hole in the wall spots forsure. Great Vid!

@@JamesLollis-br9qx I’ve had both, and the problem with Chicago Pizza with a twist is that they don’t do the crust that I like. I prefer authentic NY style crust. If a restaurant can make a plain cheese pizza that blows me away, I’ll expand out to their other flavors, but Chicago Pizza With a Twist failed that test for me, but I did like their toppings. Richie’s Pizza is just a simple solid pizza from top to bottom that does everything right without any frills. If you want good pizza in Clovis, try “More Than.”
Good tri tip doesn't need a lot of sauce to mask it. You should be able to taste the beef thru that sauce if it's made correctly. It should have been smokey and seasoned nice. It should have tasted like an elevated steak sandwich. Love love love your content!
Born and raised in fresno. Its best to just stick mexican food for the most part. For tri tip you gotta hit a black bbq spot in the hood. You need to tap in with a (black) local.

I lived in Fresno over a year and we still go back quite often for business. Respect for Tacos Nayarit but I think you need some additional coaching on the correct restaurants to visit when out there. The Annex Is a must visit regardless of the season. Don Pepe’s shrimp a la diabla tacos and burritos are a definite hit. For some amazing Asian cuisine check out Noodle Q for some great homemade noodles. For an awesome pizza or plate of pasta and great vibes you can’t go wrong with Mike’s Pizzeria.

Give tri tip another shot. It is NOT the shoulder. It is near the sirloin. One of the best cuts of meat when cooked properly. Needs to be done medium rare and seasoned heavy with salt, pepper and garlic powder.

That’s the damn truth. Salt pepper garlic and smoke, low and slow, or grilled on a Santa Maria grill. The restaurants all seem to serve it overdone and covered in BBQ sauce and that’s not the correct way.
