I consider this the ultimate deckbuilder. I think one of the real strengths of Mage Knight is how multifaceted it is, in that it's a fantastic competitive, cooperative, and solo experience. It's almost a shame that it's primarily known as a solo game. I never hear anyone talking about its other game modes. It certainly deserves its reputation for solo play, but there's so much more to explore in this game's various modes, scenarios, and expansions. The only potential drawback is that the game can certainly play long depending on the increased player count.
Always saw Mage Knight at stores, but never really knew much about it. I know you've heard of Albert Einstein, the physicist, but have you heard of his brother Frank? He was a real monster.
I received Mage Knight as a gift years ago. I read the rules. I watched several hours of playthroughs. I couldn't get it to the only table in the house big enough to play it. I didn't look at it again for several months. I later read the rules again. I then watched a few hours of game play. I was ready. I set it up on the table. Played one complete turn solo, and then it was time to get ready for dinner. I packed it up. I gave it back to the friend who gifted it to me and said, "We'll play the heck out of this when we retire." I got Champions of Hara instead. Same feeling. Less space. Faster play. I'm not disagreeing with the video. I'm just presenting another option.
I love the game but I am tired of getting the game all of or most of the expansion then they come out with the Master Set of Ultimate version. If they want to to upgrade rules no problem make it a free down load and offer an upgrade for purchase if their are new cards or pieces. FFG is famous for it, I got burned AGOT LCG. This set I have the 3 expanions but on the box they say there ar 5 new cards. This is great id you are a 1st timer for th game. I hope I can purchase the cards.

Yikes!
I had the original edition and never got the rules. I gave it away in the end.
That was my experience initially.

I haven’t heard about that one. Thanks.
Great Review! A bit of a surprise that this was your first chance to get into it since I thought you were a fellow Mage Knight fan! xD
I always liked the "idea" of it, especially having played Star Trek Frontiers - but this is the first time with the actual game. Thanks.
Tack för programmet cody detta spel verkar vara lite tanke för att spela
Det finns säkert en inlärningskurva. Men det är väldigt roligt.

Indeed.
You can purchase the 5 cards. I believe they are sold on Wiz Kids website and even the BGG store was selling them.
Madonna was in a movie scene where she ate her characters' favourite meat alongside a noble knight ....
...
..
the knight's name was 'Sir Loin'...
Ha!
