- Time for another He-Man and the Masters of the Universe vintage toy restoration, and this time it's Sy-Klone that gets some attention. He needs paint repairs, a new lenticular decal, and is missing the rubber parts that go around his head, wrists and ankles.
I enjoy working on these old Mattel MOTU figures as the end results always look very good.

That replacement sticker was amazing. There is no toy that Toy Palloi can’t fix!
Wanna bet?
How about a panthor where it’s just the head?
For the wrists, why not use two larger (1cm) o-rings separated by one small o-ring? It seems like it would match the double rings of the original closer.
Always love the videos...thanks!
Incredible work!!! Sheer genius...
I think 2 of the larger o-rings with 1 of the smaller ones between them would look even more like the original pieces.
I thought the same - the also make red o-rings as well
Great job. Mattel was quite fond of lenticular images in the 80s. They reused them in the shield of their Marvel Secret wars line
Your faux-lenticular sticker replacement is pure genius! Great idea and execution, Dave!!
AWESOME! Thanks! My very first MOTU figure... While I am grateful, parents should at least ask which characters their kids are familiar with. lol. Cyclone hadn't even been on the show at that point, so i had no idea who was, but i learned a new word at 4 and gained a nice figure.
I’m a bit of a completist when it comes to my vintage toys. However, your videos amaze me! How you can take a beat up toy and restore it using an array of different items. Keep up the work, I really enjoy your videos!
Great video and project
You can mix acrylic paint with latex, such as Copydex, to make it more flexible for painting on rubber. Dust it with talcum powder if it dries tacky!
Thanks for the tip. I will give that a try.
You can buy red coloured O rings on eBay - saving you the need to paint them. However I think your ones are colour matched very well.
I think the lenticular replica works amazingly well. I was surprised by how well!
Impressive use of orings
this is one of the figures i looked at and completely judged it like i dont need this......then i saw you do that cyclone action. i need this figure!!
Feel like grommets would give the look desired but for just some stuff you have lying around it's a good stand in
those 3D printed leg joints are a blessing. Having Man-E-Faces stand on his own two feet is all worth it.
This worked perfectly
Syklone, my best masters figure ever.
High temp gasket sealant is roughly the same colour as those armbands/bangles, and you can add a bit of oil paint to alter the colour of that or if you just used regular clear silicone sealant. It would be easy enough to make up a mould of the original bands and cast some copies. You can get the gasket sealant in small tubes the size of a toothpaste tube.
Loved the little post credits clip, love all your Masters of the universe fix it videos
Glad you like them!
Brilliant, as usual! I love the magnifying lens solution. I also appreciate the behind-the-scenes peek!
Glad you enjoyed it!
On the arms maybe 2 larger o-rings on the ends with a small o-ring in the middle?
I know it's probably out of your wheelhouse but I'd love to see some Vintage TMNT repairs/restorations.
yes. I was thinking that. perhaps that didn't sit well. you could also file the o-rings to make them thinner. but still, it does look great. I loved the photoshopping.
Though I was never a He Man fan...I did like the cartoon, but once again it's super awesome
Am I the only one who got chills/goosebumps from running their finger nail over the lenticular? Or sometimes just hearing somebody else doing it? Yeah same reaction from the video.
ASMR I guess.
Brilliant job!
Ingenious solutions! Thank you!
Awesome stuff, I actually like the look of the rounded rings more than I like the original rings. That replacement lenticular sticker looks great as well; like I said awesome stuff! Thank you!
This restauration is absolutely brilliant ! The replacement chest sticker is really well done, congratulations !
I think some pool filter tubing would match the accordion look of the original wrist and ankle bands very well.
There are red silicon o-rings that look just like the painted ones.
I was about to type the same thing!
That must have taken a LOT of hours and work to make that solar system sticker. Excellent work mate.
Another interesting fix for one of the most interesting vintage MOTU figures. Thanks, Dave. Loved this one.
LOL at the way you stored the two figures at the end.
69, duuuuude!
Pretty cool stuff! You are amazing sir!👍
Just brilliant that reproduction chest sticker. 👍
Nicely done, not a figure i have but the info is top notch
Wow! Another awesome video. That chest decal replacement was BRILLIANT!
I had no idea the rubber o-rings would paint so well! Once again very impressed! Cheers
I salute you sir.
You’re a genius

That's a great looking fix. A custom touch that's well done always is great to see.
Awesome!
That's rather brilliant using o-rings as substitutes for the bands
Sy-Klone was my favorite figure growing up. I wrote a short story in first grade that he came from the planet Saturn to help He-Man battle on Eternia.
Love it!
Post story here
Earl Spencer It’s long gone but I remember doing it and drawing a picture of him in my school journal.
That sticker fix was amazing
i realy miss my Sy Clone at least i had fun with it going to be different when it comes back in Production back on shelves with origin Retro throw back
Love watching your ingenuity.
That was crazy stupid dumb badass, nice work!.
Awesome, love the work done on the sticker. And good use of the magnifying sheet. Thanks also for the extra bit, it's nice to see a glimpse into the process behind the scenes. I am very much the same with my custom work, everything bagged and tagged and a list of parts required.
Wow amazing
Nice job.
In a cosmic brainfart i was just thinking about sy-klone the other day.
Good looking figure good to see back in action!
Just what I was looking for :-) Thanks again my friend!
Glad to help!
Another great restoration, but I'm sure you can buy red o rings
Brilliant
I know this is an old video but if you look up rubber automotive wire grommets they would be perfect for the double arm bands.
I do have some of those and agree they could work. If I get another I will give it a try.
Wow great job man you are so good I have same figure I need do same and I need chest piece bad
Love your channel man. Lots of fun
Great video as always. I do not know what it is but watching these always put me in a zen sort of stat. Very relaxing and enjoyable. And we need more of that now then ever.
One small thing tho I would like to have fixed. The third column with names on the Patreon thank real, it is one longer then the first two, and the forth is sort of missing a name. All four could have been perfectly uniform in length. But that might just be me who suffers from that type of OCD. =)
Thanks again for the content.
Wabi Sabi. Nothing is perfect. Cheers
When you were scratching the symbol you sounded like a DJ
Club Polloi
Cyclone Jam.
Fantastic.
There are electric connectors with silicone rings to make them water resistent. They have two or tree lips, that would be the perfect solution for it. (And they’re red)
The pieces on his arms and legs looks a lot like electrical seals used for automotive connectors. You may try looking in an electrical parts website.
Wes Brazwell they’re called electrical bushings
Awesome video as always Dave. The sticker replacement idea was great. Love the way your mind works
I had a bookbag they had that type of material it was a Space Jam bookbag that was back in the early 90s
Print on clear paper/decal sheet and adhere to a foil paper that will give a slight holographic effect
great restoration toy polloi especially the sticker making amazing.
Thank you! Cheers!
Love your videos, great channel brother 👍👍👍
Thank you so much 👍
The wristbands look weird to me, but a good stand in. And brilliant job with the color matching on all the paint touch ups! And the chest decals are brilliant as well. Does anyone make replicas of the wristband and headbands?
Just FYI when considering o-rings. They make ones called quad or x rings too. Not that it would be better for this piece, just in case you didn’t know
for the arms I'd take 1 of the small rings and 2 of the bigger ones and the small one is for the middle.
Why not 2 x 1cm O rings per wrist?
I tried it. At first glance it looks much better, but the smaller ring in the middle tends to being pushed outwards by the bigger rings. It is a bit wobbly.
@@mischimischi7183 ...or you could just edit it. 😉
@@beebopvroop5218 it's been a month, but you are right... 🙄...
😀👍
I would think latex paint on those o-rings would be more acceptable for bending and stretching.
Glorious :)
Looks great🙂
Thanks Dave
fantastic job; I lost a lot of sleep thinking at the best way to do some repairs, trying to imagine what sort of easy-to-find small objects could match what I needed (like your o-rings in this case). I learnt that - maybe I'm too demanding - I did an acceptable repair when the repaired item might be seen as even better than the original. That's what you got here with the head o-ring. Although again I would have lost sleep on ebay trying to find an original red-coloured o-ring :D
Love watching your videos Dave, very creative!
Thank you! Cheers!
There's red o rings on Amazon that in the pictures at least are a pretty good colour match also.
Nice! Excellent fix!
A cheap and easy way to recreate these stickers is to put one of these lenticular postcards from the 1 Euro shop in water until the cardboard part has dissolved, then you can cut it in schape and use it as a replacement.
That's a good idea. I've not seen any of those cards in my local cheap shops, but am sure I remember them from elsewhere.
I typically use sharpies to color orings
Great Job! man!
My kind of repair make it up and you can buy lenticular replacement sticker awesome p.s work it's one figure I remember well and his shield I've still got this currently restoring a battle ram
Really good Photoshop work!
Thanks very interesting video I just found a sy clone at the flea market today missing the sticker
Your image editing skill is superb, I envy u.......
Thank you so much 😀
Looks amazing!!!!
Plastidip might work for those rings. Its flexible.
EXELLENT!!
Is there anything you can’t do? 😂 great job man 👍🏽 that was awesome
Cool Video. I think the big problem with acrylic colours is that they get darker while they dry, so that it's hard to get the accurate colour shade as the original colours.
That's were practice comes in. I'm getting better with each figure I work on.
@@toypolloi I'm not even sure if Mattel used acrylic colours back in the days on their Masters figures. Could be they used lacquer
Yeah, they would have used solvent based and most likely sprayed them on.
There are postcards that have a similar material as the sticker. Maybe it is possible to salvage the plastic part from them to create and combine it with printed reproduction sticker.
Have you ever explored making a latex casting of missing parts like the shield?

Not bad, but the only thing that bothers me is the bands on the legs not matching the bands on the head and arms. I think maybe those should have been replaced as well and save the original ones for another figure that maybe had the arms and head but missing the legs.
I dont see the link for the stands, is it now defunct?
I didnt know you could buy new rubber leg anchors 👍
An idea with the chest piece, how would a pearl clear paint go to giving a slight hologram effect?
Good stuff man 😎👍
Would have loved to fix a few of my figures' legs but nobody ships to South Africa.
Just how many times did they reuse he mans head
Are sy clones arms removable/replaceable
Did you consider using two 1 cm O-rings for the arm, and one 0.8cm as the middle piece?
Mi first thought was to trying to find a ridged tube (like those bendy straws or pipes for a gasoline tank) or something like that, but this just turn out awesome.
